Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please! -
Chapter 533 - 533 Location
Chapter 533: Location Chapter 533: Location Samantha Powell smiled and said, “Chloe, don’t be sad. This engagement is not legally binding since they’re not married yet. We still have chances.”
“Yes, as long as they’re not married, anything is still possible. I won’t let this matter just develop like this.” Grand Lady Johnson declared once again.
Hearing this, Samantha felt that Grand Lady Johnson might make a move again. She knew her mother-in-law’s methods; once she took action, it would be ruthless.
At the hospital, Arnold Johnson came to see the injured Frank Johnson.
Having dozed for a while, Frank saw his uncle, Arnold, and immediately opened his eyes, calling out, “Little Uncle.”
“You seem fine now,” Arnold commented.
“Indeed, my injuries weren’t too severe. I’ll recover after a few days of rest,” Frank optimistically replied. He then asked, “Little Uncle, I’m currently being monitored by my mother’s men. I can’t even go see Evelyn. How is she now?”
“She’s asleep now, recovering quite well,” Arnold replied.
Upon hearing that she was fine, Frank finally felt relieved.
“Tell me, how did you find out Evelyn Garcia was kidnapped?” Arnold asked.
Frank hesitated, not wanting to answer this question.
“Don’t you trust me?” Arnold, noticing his reluctance, still wanted to know. He also cared about Frank, and he suspected Frank had liked Evelyn for a long time already.
“I…” Frank wasn’t good at lying, especially in front of Arnold.
Arnold, being clever, immediately asked, “Did you do something sneaky to Evelyn’s phone?”
“No…no…” Frank quickly explained, looking somewhat uneasy.
Arnold knew his nephew could be obsessive about certain things, and given his expression, he had a good idea of what had happened.
“Did you install monitoring software on her phone?”
Hearing Arnold’s question, Frank was astonished, “Little Uncle, how did you know that?”
“I guessed,” Arnold casually replied. “You have people protecting you and people you can order to watch Evelyn, but many of them were appointed by your mother, whom you naturally wouldn’t dare to use. However, you certainly care about her, wanting to know what she’s doing every day and where she’s been, right?”
Frank admitted, “Yes, actually, I only installed a location tracker, not a monitoring device. I can only know where she’s been so that I can ‘accidentally’ meet her there. Although I want to pry into her personal affairs, I don’t think it’s right to do so. It’s about respecting her. Since I love her so much, how could I do something so disrespectful?”
Arnold patted him on the shoulder after hearing this. Although his actions were not entirely appropriate, his intentions were still measured – he didn’t touch what he shouldn’t. This somewhat reassured Arnold.
“When I saw the location tracker and found her in that place, I couldn’t help but wonder why Evelyn would go there. So, I went there to find out why and to check if something had happened to her. And unexpectedly, something really had happened.”
“Have you ever thought about how you’ll explain to Evelyn how you knew she was there if she asks you in the future?” Arnold asked.
As for this, Frank hadn’t really thought about it yet.
