Chapter 474 - 474 Engagement News 6
Chapter 474: Engagement News 6 Chapter 474: Engagement News 6 After Victoria Garcia and Alexander Mitchell finished their lunch, Alexander sent Victoria back to her company.
As they waved goodbye, the falling snow landed on Alexander’s body, making him look so lonely.
Their youthful days together had come to an end.
When Victoria disappeared from his sight, Alexander stood on the street, closed his eyes, and felt the snowflakes falling on his eyes – cool and cold, yet warmer than his heart.
When he opened his eyes, a wine-red coat covered his vision.
He turned around and saw Aubree Field behind him.
“Leah, how come you’re here?” Alexander looked surprised.
Aubree giggled, “I was just passing by and saw you, would you believe it?”
Alexander noticed that Aubree was wearing a black, oversized down jacket today, which reached her ankles, and wrapped a wine-red cashmere scarf around her neck. Her face was fair but without any makeup.
“I believe it.” Alexander knew that if Aubree really wanted to see him, she wouldn’t have appeared without makeup. Since she had grown up, Aubree had rarely shown her bare face to others, always wearing elaborate makeup, beautiful and proud like a peacock.
“There’s a beverage shop nearby. Can you accompany me for a sit?” Aubree asked.
Since parting in Green City that night, they hadn’t seen each other, and Alexander hadn’t figured out how to face Aubree.
Today’s chance encounter was also an opportunity, so Alexander agreed without much hesitation, “All right.”
The two walked side by side for a while before arriving at the beverage shop.
“I’ve just had lunch, have you eaten?” Alexander asked her.
“I’ve also eaten. Just order me a glass of lime and kumquat juice,” Aubree smiled.
Alexander couldn’t help but feel surprised, “You didn’t order coffee, that’s kind of unexpected.”
Aubree laughed lightly, “Sometimes, trying a different taste will bring unexpected discoveries.”
“You’ve changed,” Alexander said.
“Because I chose a different drink?” Aubree casually asked.
Alexander explained with a smile, “Not just that, your outfit today is also surprising. You used to dress more extravagantly, and you’re actually wearing flat shoes now. You used to have contempt for down jackets, thinking they were ugly and shapeless. Plus, you’re not wearing makeup today – I remember you used to say that you wouldn’t go out without makeup.”
“With so many differences, doesn’t that mean I’ve changed?”
“Do you prefer the old Aubree Field or the current one?” Aubree asked, blinking her big eyes.
“What’s important is not which one I prefer, but which one you feel comfortable with,” Alexander replied.
“I feel pretty comfortable like this.”
“Well, you’re actually quite beautiful even without makeup,” Alexander complimented.
The refreshing bare face and elaborate makeup each presented a different kind of beauty. However, a natural look could be genuinely beautiful.
“Thank you, actually going bare-faced is also good for the skin.”
The two of them chatted casually, seemingly avoiding the topic of what happened that night in Green City.
As Aubree had drunk half of her beverage, she told Alexander, “I’m leaving Metropolis the day after tomorrow.”
“Why do you want to leave Metropolis?” Alexander became a little anxious.
Aubree casually replied, “Just going for a walk, it’s not like I’ll never come back.”
Upon hearing this, Alexander fell silent.
