Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please!
Chapter 470 - 470 Engagement News 2

Chapter 470: Engagement News 2 Chapter 470: Engagement News 2 The Johnson Old Mansion was quite like a burst boiler at this moment.

Grand Lady Johnson, having seen those reports, was so infuriated that she almost couldn’t catch her breath.

“That unfilial child, he’s doing this on purpose. Just for a damn Engagement Ceremony, he intends to let the whole world know. Is he tired of living?” The Johnson family had always been a low-key wealthy household. A globally-announced engagement banquet, in Grand Lady Johnson’s eyes, was merely a joke.

As anyone would know, when Arnold Johnson and Chloe Johnson got married, they only released a token piece of news.

“He’s really trying to make me furious. Furious!” Grand Lady Johnson gnashed her teeth, stamped her foot, and raged, “I’m going to disown him. I will absolutely not attend this Engagement Ceremony.”

Chloe, standing to one side, was stupefied as well.

Despite this, she still attempted to comfort Grand Lady Johnson: “Mom, don’t get angry yet, please calm down first.”

“Chloe, your mother is too useless,” Grand Lady Johnson said in anguish, tears streaming down her face, “But rest assured, your mother is always on your side. Even if I disown Arnold as my son, I would never abandon you. Worst comes to worst, you’ll be my daughter, and Arnold will get disowned by the Johnson family, and he won’t be able to inherit anything from the Johnson family.”

“Mom, don’t panic. It’s just an engagement; they are still not a legally married couple.” Chloe trivialized the matter.

Grand Lady Johnson anxiously replied, “With such a high-profile display, what else is impossible for him to engage in?”

“If it really comes to that, then there’s no other way out. All these years, I’ve been waiting for him, but he has never treated me with proper consideration.” Chloe’s heart was bleeding too.

She had liked him since childhood; it had almost been thirty years. Apart from him, Chloe had never given another man a second glance. She guarded him with all her heart, always thinking that he would return home once he’d had enough fun.

But now, Victoria Garcia’s threat was unsettling her heart.

“Chloe, rest assured, as long as I’m alive, you are the Johnson family’s daughter-in-law. No other woman could ever gain my approval. If he can go to such lengths to be high-profile, I can match it with equal fanfare.”

“Mom, if you really do that, wouldn’t that give more people a reason to laugh at us?” Chloe didn’t want the situation to spiral out like this. Some things could be handled quietly.

Grand Lady Johnson was not senile, it was just her immediate fury that made her say such things.

“Chloe, don’t worry about it. We still have plenty of time. It’s still not certain whether Victoria Garcia can make it that far.” Grand Lady Johnson said coldly.

Chloe just kept her company and didn’t continue the conversation.

When she was back in her own place, Uncle Ann came over.

“Young Miss!” Uncle Ann called out.

Chloe tried to control her emotions as much as possible and said, “Don’t worry, I’m okay.”

“In the next couple of days, I will pick a favorable day to execute our planned scheme.” Chloe could bear with it, but Uncle Ann couldn’t.

Chloe said softly, “Have you investigated everything clearly? This time, I need it to be foolproof.”

“Rest assured, I’ll be personally taking action this time, and I will not fail.” Uncle Ann stated confidently.

But Chloe responded, “Uncle Ann, if you act personally, the risk would be too great. If any mishap occurs, it can easily expose everything.”

“I don’t trust others with this matter.” Uncle Ann comforted Chloe, “Young Miss, you don’t need to worry about me. I might be a bit old, but my skills have not deteriorated. Dealing with them will be more than easy for me.”
