Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please!
Chapter 389 - 389 Who is using whom after all

Chapter 389: Who is using whom after all? Chapter 389: Who is using whom after all? When Arnold Johnson and Victoria Garcia ran to the temple, Victoria was so out of breath she didn’t want to move anymore, just wanting to lie down and rest a bit on the stone slab in front of the gate.

Looking at Arnold, it was simply astonishing how his spirits seemed to soar even more after such vigorous exercise.

“You go ahead, I need to rest for a bit,” Victoria gasped.

Arnold observed her sweaty face, emanating an unusually beautiful glow. He wanted to approach but hesitated, after all, this was a sacred Buddhist place.

If Arnold were to share his biggest regret from the previous night, it would certainly be washing her body, causing him to think involuntarily of her beautiful and captivating figure every time he saw Victoria.

“Alright, rest up. I’ll go and listen to the master recite the Morning Scriptures and then I’ll come out,” Arnold thought he needed a cleanse before he could face Victoria.

“Go on then!” Victoria waved him away with her hand.

At that moment, all she wanted was to quietly catch her breath and rest.

“Don’t wander off,” Arnold couldn’t help but warn.

Victoria nodded and promised, “I won’t wander off.”

Arnold only turned towards the temple after receiving this response.

The temple was not crowded because every master here obstinately practiced asceticism.

Victoria sat on the stone slab, looking at the vast expanse of red leaves on the mountain and felt very relaxed, involuntarily closing her eyes to take in the scent of the surrounding air.

Just as Victoria was enjoying the beautiful morning with her eyes closed, a pair of hands reached out from behind her, eerily quiet and soundless.

When the hands touched her exposed arm, Victoria felt a slight sting. She instinctively turned around, seeing Sydney Bennett smiling at her.

Just as Victoria was about to call her, she felt her throat tighten and was unable to speak. Following that, her entire body began to feel numb. Soon after, the face of Sydney started to become blurry…

Sydney Bennett didn’t anticipate how easily she would be able to handle Victoria today. She quickly picked up Victoria and carried her to a car she had parked beforehand.

While Arnold was reciting the Morning Scriptures, he suddenly heard the sound of a car starting, causing him to open his eyes.

“Whose car is in the temple?” Arnold quickly asked the Master.

The Master did not open his eyes, he simply replied in a soft voice: “Before you came, a female guest parked her car to the southwest.”

“Do you know her?”

“She is a missy from the Triad.”

When Arnold heard this, he lost all interest in the Scriptures. He immediately got up and left.

The Master did not attempt to stop him, he just muttered: all things arise, abide, and cease, nothing is permanent…

Sydney Bennett had just driven Victoria to the foot of the mountain, when Roger Bennett’s trusted man, Alexander, stopped her.

“Young Miss, the chairman has commanded me to take Miss Garcia to a safe place.” Alexander said.

“My dad didn’t tell me to take her away,” Sydney said cautiously.

Football was popular within the Triad, who knew if Alexander was one of Arnold’s men who Roger Bennett trusted?

At that moment, Sydney’s cell phone began to ring. It was Roger Bennett calling.

“Dad!”

Sydney had barely spoken when Roger cut her off: “I sent Alexander to meet you. Hand her over to him now because it won’t be long before Arnold tracks you down.”

“Okay!”
