Chapter 376 - 376 She is not sick 6
Chapter 376: She is not sick 6 Chapter 376: She is not sick 6 Victoria Garcia had someone in mind but quickly rejected the thought.
Arnold Johnson caught that fleeting thought and probed, “Who did you just find suspicious?”
“I was just considering who had the best chance of getting close to me. Other than Alexander Mitchell, who I have spent time alone with, there isn’t anyone else,” said Victoria, quickly adding, “But Alexander is an upright person. I don’t think he could do something like this.”
Victoria thought like that, just as Arnold did.
Alexander hails from a family of officials, he might be linked to complex matters, but getting involved in such things would be improbable. Furthermore, Arnold knew the situation within the Mitchell family very well.
So, Alexander was ruled out instantly.
“Arnold, do you suspect Alexander?” Victoria asked him.
Arnold replied with a smile, “I trust your judgement.”
He took her hand and said, “Let’s not think about this for now, let’s get something to eat.”
It would be unlikely that she could remember everything at this moment.
“Hmm.” Victoria responded, but her mind was still occupied with this matter.
Why did that person use such hypnosis on her? Was it genuine love? Or was there an ulterior motive? What if it was not a man?
If it was a woman, then why use such hypnosis? To deprive her of love forever? Or was it to wear her down from long-term contact with men?
If she was really hypnotized, when could it have happened?
Seeing her frown, Arnold knew she was still obsessing over these questions.
“Don’t take this too seriously. This matter didn’t just occur overnight. I will find someone to help you with this hypnosis, and as for the person who hypnotized you, I will find them.” Arnold reassured, “But what’s most important at this moment is to enjoy the gastronomy near Autumn Harvest Mountain.”
Victoria knew he wanted her to relax and not overthink.
“Sure, what should we eat?” Victoria responded.
“This place’s most famous dishes are the vegetarian meals and Grass Mountain Cuisine, how about we have Grass Mountain Cuisine tonight?”
“Why not the vegetarian dishes?” Victoria pouted.
“Because the chef who prepares the vegetarian dishes is on a break today and will only return the day after tomorrow. I’ll accompany you then, we can go back to Metropolis after we eat.” Arnold explained.
He had made her such a promise last year and wouldn’t let her leave disappointed this time.
“We’ll do as you say.” Victoria agreed.
The two chatted as they got into the car, heading towards the restaurant that served Grass Mountain Cuisine.
Arnold listened to light music while telling Victoria about fun and delicious places around Autumn Harvest Mountain. It was clear that he was quite familiar with the area.
Nevertheless, Victoria felt that Arnold seemed familiar with everywhere, which probably had to do with his frequent international travel.
Arnold didn’t drive too fast, but soon noticed a car tailing them from behind.
Before confirming anything, Arnold tried making several turns and then turning back, but that car was still closely following his. Sure enough, Arnold confirmed that he was being followed.
“Hold tight!” Arnold sternly told Victoria, “I’m going to speed up now.”
Seeing his seriousness, Victoria knew it was serious and sensed that something was amiss.
