Chapter 363 - 363 Looking at Each Other Coldly 2
Chapter 363: Looking at Each Other Coldly 2 Chapter 363: Looking at Each Other Coldly 2 The movie was halfway through when suddenly the power went out.
The entire theater was abruptly plunged into darkness. Arnold Johnson’s hand instinctively reached for Victoria Garcia’s. In situations like this, Johnson’s mind always jumped to the worst-case scenario.
“Don’t worry, I’m fine. It’s just a power outage, nothing serious,” Victoria reassured him.
But Johnson frowned, only giving a curt nod of acknowledgement.
Having roamed the ‘Rivers and Lakes’ for many years, he was prone to suspicion when unforeseen situations occurred.
Inside the theater, audience members began to complain, “What the hell is going on here, stopping the movie halfway through? This is the first time I’ve encountered such a thing in a cinema. Who’s going to explain this?”
Once someone started complaining, others joined in: “Yeah, the movie wasn’t finished, they must give us a refund.”
“I was really getting into the movie. Why the hell did they cut the power? I don’t want a refund, I want to watch the movie. The female lead is so gorgeous and sexy, she’s exactly my type!”
For a moment, the theater was in chaos. Someone was waving their phone’s flashlight, shouting, “Is anyone there?”
Seeing this, Victoria said to Johnson, “Let’s go home.”
“But this is your sister’s movie, should we wait a little longer?” he asked.
“Never mind, the feedback for this movie should be good. How about we watch it at home quietly on the couch when we get back?” she suggested with a smile.
She really enjoyed doing that.
“Alright, as you wish!” Johnson agreed, taking her hand and leaving their seats.
Just as they stood up, a staff member came over with a flashlight, loudly announcing, “Ladies and gentlemen, we apologize for the inconvenience. Due to unexpected circumstances, power will be restored in about half an hour. For your inconvenience, all spectators can redeem the movie ticket price with their tickets. Additionally, if you wish to wait, you can still get your ticket price refunded after the movie ends.”
In other words, the movie could be watched for free.
After the announcement, some audience members began to leave, but most decided to stay. For those who aren’t in a hurry, missing out on a free movie simply because of a thirty-minute delay would be a waste of opportunity….
On the other side of the theater, Uncle Ann addressed Chloe Johnson, “Young Miss, shall I give it a try while it’s dark and chaotic?”
Chloe understood Uncle Ann’s intention. He wanted to take advantage of the chaos to assassinate someone. But this was a dangerous situation, and Uncle Ann was the person she trusted most and someone Arnold knew. So, the chances were slim, and the risks high.
Seeing Chloe’s apprehension, Uncle Ann quickly reassured her, “Young Miss, don’t worry, I promise he won’t recognize me.”
However, Chloe firmly rejected Uncle Ann’s proposition, “We shouldn’t act under these circumstances. You know exactly how capable he is. If we fail, everything will be revealed. It’s too risky.”
“In this situation, our chances are pretty high. I could simply walk over, stab her, then flee while throwing out a bunch of money. The crowd would block everything, and it would be easy for me to get away.” Uncle Ann believed that, in such a situation, Arnold would definitely choose to save Victoria first, giving him a chance to escape.
But Chloe had considered these factors more thoroughly, “What if Arnold is highly vigilant and notices a discrepancy early on? What’s more, Victoria does have some martial arts skills. They’re not great, but what if she managed to dodge the attack by luck?”
