Chapter 339 - 339 Our Agreement
Chapter 339: Our Agreement Chapter 339: Our Agreement These days, because of the incident with Terry Garcia, Victoria was swamped with work and couldn’t be persuaded by Arnold Johnson to take a break. So, Arnold, not caring about his own company, drove directly over to Victoria’s company when it was almost time to get off work. Victoria had no choice but to obey and follow Arnold home.
Poor Wyatt Lee and Candy Foster had no choice but to deal with the aftermath, as they were assigned by Arnold. Director Johnson had given the order, and they had to make sure the company remained stable, even if it meant working overtime.
“Now I know you have a big problem!” Victoria said as she sat in the passenger seat, pouting.
Arnold laughed and asked, “What’s the problem? Tell me, and I’ll fix it!”
“You overreact!” Victoria said solemnly, then added, “The doctor said there’s no problem, but you’re still worried. If you keep this up, you’ll scare up problems where there are none!”
Arnold grinned, “I guess I can’t change that. When it comes to you, I don’t want you to suffer any sequelae. Otherwise, who will compensate me for losing a Victoria?”
“You talk better than you sing!” Victoria pursed her lips slightly.
Arnold laughed even deeper, “Actually, I can sing even better. Do you want to hear? I’ll sing for you now!”
“…”
Arnold started humming a song regardless of Victoria’s thoughts:
I once thought that life was like this, but after so many years, I still can’t forget…
Upon hearing the melody of the song, Victoria knew it immediately. She didn’t expect Arnold to hum such a popular song, which was quite surprising. However, she had to admit that Arnold’s low, husky voice was very attractive — much more than she’d imagined. What was she going to do?
“If you want to praise me, just praise me!” Arnold unceremoniously asked for a reward.
Victoria pretended not to hear him, and softly joked, “It seems that Metropolis has really entered autumn, the leaves are turning yellow.”
“In the middle of the night, your eyesight is that good? Are you sure it’s not just a reflection of the light?”
“You don’t know, but my eyesight is amazing.” Victoria lied through her teeth, but she didn’t care since Arnold didn’t know the truth.
Arnold was no ordinary man. He would not bother arguing with Victoria over such a trivial matter. Victoria was just too stubborn to admit anything, even a simple compliment. But he didn’t care.
“The leaves on Autumn Harvest Mountain should be turning red soon. How about we go there for a week?” Arnold changed the topic effortlessly.
Victoria knew that Autumn Harvest Mountain was famous for its red leaves, which attracted visitors from different countries every year. She was also very interested in Royal Country’s Autumn Harvest Mountain. So, she agreed, “Once the company is stable for the week, we set off. How does that sound?”
Seeing her spirits lifted, Arnold replied without hesitation, “Everything is up to you.”
“That’s great!” Victoria laughed.
“Is it really that hard for you to add ‘you’ in front of ‘great’?” Arnold joked with her.
Victoria rolled her eyes and laughed even more, “I won’t add it. What can you do to me?”
Looking at her defiant face, Arnold’s heart bubbled with excitement. He pulled the car over without hesitation and turned off the engine. Victoria’s thoughts hadn’t yet caught up when she saw Arnold’s body suddenly press against hers.
