Victoria Garcia lay quietly on the white hospital bed, her eyes tightly shut.

Lynda Collins picked up the syringe in her hand, preparing to find a blood vessel to inject the drug. However, before the syringe could touch Victoria’s skin, two people suddenly burst into the room, startling Lynda and making her tighten her grip on the syringe.

“The patient needs rest! I’m giving her an injection, and you just barge in like this! Have you thought about the consequences if something bad happens?” Lynda scolded loudly, trying to mask her panic.

The two completely ignored her words and approached her at the same time.

One of them roughly grabbed Lynda’s hand without any courtesy.

Lynda tried to break free from the grip, but found that she couldn’t even move her hand. Her panic grew, and she shouted louder at them, “Who are you? What do you want? If you don’t let go, I’ll call the security guard!”

The man spoke in an annoyed tone, “Miss Collins, please come with us!”

“Where to?”

“Police Station!”

“Who are you? On what grounds are you taking me to the police station? Let go of me!” Lynda screamed, her hand holding the syringe shaking even more.

Why were they taking her to the police station? Was her secret exposed? It shouldn’t be possible since she had been very careful. Could it be related to the high-interest loan? After some thought, she found it unlikely since that wasn’t their style, and she had promised to repay the money within a week!

“You know what you’ve done. It’s best to come with us willingly now. We don’t have the patience to wait for you!” The other person grew impatient.

Lynda mustered her courage and said confidently, “I haven’t committed any crime! Why should I go with you? I even suspect that you are criminals trying to kidnap me!”

She continued by threatening, “There are surveillance cameras in the hospital. If you want to break the law, consider the consequences!”

“Do you think we’re idiots? Stop talking nonsense and come with us. Otherwise, we’ll just drag you out!”

Lynda stared in disbelief, “You need to give me a reason to come with you at least!”

“The item in your hand is the best reason!” The other person said coldly.

Lynda continued to play dumb, “This is medicine for Miss Garcia. It’s time for her to take it, so I have to give it to her!”

“If she takes your medicine, I’m afraid Miss Garcia won’t be waking up again.”

“You’re talking nonsense! This is medicine for healing and saving lives!” Lynda roared, trying to justify her actions.

But no matter how much she pretended, it couldn’t change the panic within her.

At this moment, she thought of how to destroy the evidence. Her mind worked quickly, as did her hands. The syringe slipped from her hand and was about to shatter on the floor.

Lynda imagined that once the syringe broke, she could pretend to accidentally knock over a water bottle, effectively destroying the evidence.

Lynda watched in disbelief as the syringe was caught in the palm of one of the intruders without shattering. She was stunned and couldn’t understand how things had taken such a turn.
