“General Garcia simply took me to a dinner with the project’s investors. The driver sent me home afterwards. Lucy, you really overthink things.”

“Cindy, stop treating me like a three-year-old. I used to accompany the president like this before you. So let’s not pretend.” Lucy’s disdainful tone continued: “As someone who’s been there, I advise you, the CEO’s wife is not someone to be trifled with. Be careful, or else you won’t get anything and even lose your job. Then let’s see how you’ll pay off the plastic surgery for that small V-shaped face of yours and those D-cup breasts.”

Hearing her say this, Cindy feigned indifference with a smile, “It doesn’t matter what I do, as long as the man by my side is happy, right?”

With that, Cindy left in her high heels.

Lucy was scared by her attitude and quickly tried to explain, “Please, calm down. It was just a joke. I said that just to get some information out of Cindy. I have nothing to do with General Garcia, but it’s true that he and Cindy are having an affair.”

“You’re all the same goods. Don’t take me for a fool. I’m going to Human Resources to fire you both! Shameless b*tches!” Clara didn’t even give Lucy another look as she stormed out of the bathroom, heading towards the HR office.

Lucy didn’t want to lose her well-paying job, and if she lost it, she wouldn’t be able to afford her high-cost lifestyle. Terry Garcia no longer favored her, but she still had some benefits.

She was just unhappy about the new darling moving up, but she didn’t expect it to lead to such a disaster.

“Mrs. Garcia, please listen to me!” Lucy caught up to Clara and pleaded, “This is a critical time. If you fire both of us, the workforce will be short-handed, right? Since Cindy is currently favored by General Garcia, you can fire her for now. As for me, you can keep an eye on me, and from now on, I’ll listen to you. Is that okay?”
