Chapter 212 - 212 Counterattack of the Result 2

Chapter 212: Counterattack of the Result 2 Chapter 212: Counterattack of the Result 2 When Victoria woke up the next day, she noticed some swelling around her eyes.

Aunt Taylor brought in breakfast, when she noticed this, she grabbed a bag of cold milk from the fridge. She grinned and said, “You must have worked late again last night. Try this, it will make you feel better.”

Victoria accepted the bag of cold milk and placed it on her eyes.

She reclined on the sofa with her eyes closed, her mind in chaos.

She couldn’t understand a single word Aunt Taylor was saying.

When she reopened her eyes, she suddenly realized that Arnold’s presence could directly affect her emotional state.

This realization was complex.

Victoria swallowed down a few bites of breakfast quickly, then left.

The midsummer sun was already blinding. Victoria checked the time, and it was already half past nine.

She pulled out her phone and called Clara.

“Tell me, why are you seeking me out?”

Even at this distance, Victoria could sense something was amiss with Clara’s mood from her words.

“Meet me at the Rotating Café beside the office building in an hour.” Victoria responded bluntly.

“Fine, see you in an hour!” Clara hung up, her hands still a little shaky.

It wasn’t because of Victoria’s call, but the series of events from yesterday that left her restless.

Clara was applying her lipstick, and a couple times it slipped from her hand. After a few deep breaths, she gripped the lipstick tightly.

By the time Clara reached the Rotating Café on the left side of the office building, one and a half hours had already passed.

Victoria was sitting there quietly, waiting for her.

Clara’s makeup was thicker than ever before. While she usually looked good with heavy makeup, this application appeared forced.

Nevertheless, Victoria understood why Clara would wear such commanding makeup. She wanted to overshadow Victoria, and also distract from yesterday’s events.

Clara’s gaze fell upon Victoria. Victoria was wearing a simple silk white shirt and matching nine-point tapered pants. Her simple, clean attire coupled with a refreshing no-makeup look made her look both sophisticated and professional.

Clara straightened her back before advancing to the seat opposite Victoria.

“Tell me, why did you call me here?” Clara tried to make her tone sound as casual as possible, “If you’re here to beg me to let you off, that’s not going to happen.”

“Don’t worry, if I were to beg someone, I wouldn’t beg you.” Victoria’s gaze seemed to casually fall on Clara, but in reality, she was carefully observing her every expression.

“Since you’ve called me here today, you must have made up your mind. So, tell me what you’ve decided.” Clara stared intently at Victoria, hoping to discern something from her expression, but Victoria’s calm face gave nothing away.

Victoria opened her phone and there was a video of Clara.

She swiveled the phone and spoke calmly, “The Deputy CEO position is mine to settle.”

Before Victoria finished speaking, Clara interrupted, “Since you insist, don’t blame me for being rude. This is all your fault. If your mother isn’t able to rest peacefully down there, then it’s your doing.”

Victoria watched Clara’s domineering manner and wondered what would happen if she poured cold water on it.

Would she beg, cry, or play the family card?

Or, if she had any dignity, would she leave to find another way?
