Chapter 210: Once had Chapter 210: Once had Victoria Garcia silently looked at the inside of Cemetery Park while Arnold Johnson held her and walked with her.

Soon, they were back in the car and he drove her away from the place.

Seeing Victoria being quiet the entire time, Arnold knew she was still upset about her mother.

“I heard you’re pretty good at squash,” Arnold changed the topic.

Victoria mumbled, “I haven’t played for a long time.”

“Why?” Arnold thought sports was the best way to adjust one’s mood.

“My grandpa loved squash. When he was alive, he used to play with me. I didn’t have much strength back then, so playing squash felt like going to war. It was so tiring.”

Victoria recalled the days when her grandpa was alive. Those were happy times.

However, some happiness was real, while some were just an illusion.

“Well, let me test your strength now.”

“I’m not in the mood for squash today. Can we play some other time?” Victoria truly wasn’t in the mood.

On the other hand, Arnold enthusiastically said to her, “Just give it a try. If you don’t like it, we can go home. Consider it a distraction for me, okay?”

Seeing Arnold’s pleading eyes, Victoria couldn’t bring herself to refuse.

“Fine, I’ll take a nap for a while. Wake me up when we get there!” Victoria’s answer was a silent consent.

Arnold stepped on the accelerator, and the car speeded up instantly, but it was still smooth inside.

Victoria closed her eyes, but she couldn’t sleep at all. Images of her mother, as well as Jonathan Carter’s unkempt appearance, kept appearing in her mind.

Such a beautiful mother, only to meet with jerks.

The more she thought about these messy things, the more uncomfortable her head became, and her nerves were close to breaking point.

Fortunately, it didn’t take long for Arnold’s car to come to a stop.

“We’re here. Let’s get off!”

Only then did Victoria notice that her clothes were not suitable for playing squash. She waved her hand at Arnold and said, “I didn’t bring my clothes.”

Arnold appeared to be well prepared and said, “No worries. I called the people at the fitness center in advance to prepare your clothes.”

“…”

She didn’t hear him make a call in the car, which meant that he had planned to bring her to play squash before this.

In other words, it wasn’t that he needed her to accompany him, but rather, he wanted to help her relieve her depression through playing squash with him.

When did he come up with this idea? Was it when she left that house in the alley, or when they met with Jonathan Carter?

“Let’s go! I can’t wait to see your skills,” said Arnold as he held her hand and walked towards the fitness center entrance.

Victoria followed him to the squash court, and then they changed into their respective clothes and shoes.

The sportswear and shoes fit well, which meant that Arnold had a good understanding of her size and shoe size.

From then on, their conversation was all about playing squash.

Throughout the room, the sound of squash balls hitting the wall and heavy breathing became constant.

Victoria felt like a horse running on the grassland, continually moving around, afraid to miss a single ball.

From being a little rusty at the beginning to becoming skilled later on, she put her heart and efforts into hitting every ball. At times, she found that she and Arnold made a decent team, at least in squash.

Not knowing how long they played, by the end, Victoria was so tired that she felt like floating above the ground, with her feet barely touching the floor.
