Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please! -
Chapter 170 - 170 If I treat you the same way
Chapter 170: If I treat you the same way Chapter 170: If I treat you the same way Alexander Mitchell was sizing up Victoria Garcia, wearing a long, ash coloured T-shirt, black fitted capris, black flat shoes, everything about her looks so simple yet so competent.
Her fluffy slightly curly hair, paired with pearl earrings, added a touch of elegance and femininity to her efficiency.
Alexander had to admit, compared to the short-haired Victoria from before, she had grown more dazzling.
“Please come in,” Alexander said invitingly.
Victoria walked in with a file in hand.
As they sat facing each other, Victoria gave Alexander a quick look. His eyes were full of fatigue. As a friend, she couldn’t help but feel sorry for him.
“You look a little off, make sure to rest more,” Victoria instinctively said.
Alexander was well aware of how haggard he looked lately, but even a simple word of concern from Victoria caught him off guard.
Alexander’s gaze fell on the file she was holding and he asked her tentatively, “Is it the plan?”
Victoria nodded, “Yes, I brought the plan over, you can look at it when you have time if you’re busy now.”
As he looked into her eyes, they were clear and calm, intelligent and rational, their intensity was piercing, hurting his heart.
“Let me take a look,” he reached out his hand.
Victoria handed the file to him.
As he took the file, his fingertips accidentally brushed against hers. They were soft and cool. There was no tingling sensation, just jealousy, jealousy of the man who could unreservedly hold her hand.
Taking the opportunity to flip through the folder, Alexander quickly let his feelings pass.
Victoria sat quietly on the side, waiting for him to review.
Time ticked away between their fingers.
Alexander always had a good memory, he quickly understood the situation, but he didn’t want to close the file at all. The calm between them allowed him to replay old memories in his mind.
When she went to the library to read, he’d loiter, quietly watching her.
In the quiet environment, she was reluctant to shoo him away out loud, and he pretended not to notice.
Why had those beautiful times suddenly disappeared?
Where was his dogged perseverance from back then? Why had he now become afraid? Afraid of her hurrying him, afraid of her ruthless words, and her cold gazes that made him want to die…
Unable to suppress the sadness welling up from his heart, Alexander involuntarily closed his eyes.
Seeing him like this, Victoria showed confusion, thinking there was something wrong with him, she quickly asked, “Alexander, are you unwell?”
Hearing the concern in her voice, Alexander’s heart ached even more.
If he hadn’t taken that step back then, would their situation be different now?
He believed that there must be a place for him in her heart, but she was just good at hiding her emotions.
Alexander opened his eyes, meeting her gaze head-on.
It was no longer absolute composure, a hint of tenderness flitted by.
Alexander shook his head and leaned forward, bringing him closer to her.
“I was just thinking about the past, I couldn’t help but get emotional.” His low and hoarse voice was full of allure.
Victoria was momentarily taken aback, but quickly leaned to the side.
Seeing her avoidance, a burst of anger welled up in Alexander’s heart, Did it really have to come to this between them?
He asked her somewhat angrily, “Am I really that terrifying in your heart?”
