Chapter 394: After modification: Chapter 394 Borrowing Money
“I can’t make the decision on this matter. Go find someone else! If anyone is willing to partner with you, I won’t stop them!” Zhang Dadan said coldly.
Mrs. Zhao’s initial attempts failed, and now her pitiful act was also useless. She felt a mix of shame and anger, practically hating Zhang Dadan to the core!
If I wanted to, I could have tons of men around me. And you still act all high and mighty? Who knows if you’re really just pretending or if you really can’t do it!
“Big brother, you can’t do it, right?” Mrs. Zhao saw there was no way to turn the situation around and began to speak sharply.
Can’t do it? Zhang Dadan was about to explode. Every morning, I’m as hard as a rock, reaching the sky, and you dare say I can’t do it?
“You shameless bitch, if you dare speak nonsense again, I’ll rip your mouth apart!” Zhang Dadan roared in anger.
Seeing Zhang Dadan truly angry, Mrs. Zhao felt a bit scared, remembering the lesson from the day she was beaten.
But if she failed again, she couldn’t swallow that. As she hesitated, a plan suddenly struck her mind.
A person without shame is invincible. Facing the invincible Mrs. Zhao, Zhang Dadan felt somewhat helpless.
He thought to himself, if worse comes to worst, I’ll just knock her out and dump her down the mountain at night.
No one in the village would believe a whore’s words without any witnesses anyway.
With that decided, Zhang Dadan put away his phone, stretched out his right hand, and slowly walked toward Mrs. Zhao.
Mrs. Zhao’s face showed fear as she trembled and said, “Zhang Dadan, don’t do anything reckless! This is a lawful society, if you kill me, you won’t escape!”
What the hell! Look at yourself in a mirror, you think I would kill someone like you and carry that burden? You’re overestimating yourself!
Zhang Dadan saw Mrs. Zhao misunderstand his intentions but didn’t bother to explain, continuing to walk towards her with an evil grin.
Mrs. Zhao had initially intended to use Zhang Dadan to make money but never expected it to come to this, feeling both fear and regret.
“Help! Murder!” Mrs. Zhao hastily dressed and prepared to flee down the mountain.
After all, money is important, but life is even more precious.
Seeing Mrs. Zhao fleeing in panic, Zhang Dadan heaved a long sigh of relief and sat back under the big tree, basking in the sun.
Approaching noon, the sun became scorching, and Zhang Dadan started sweating, so he got up and went down the mountain to eat lunch.
As Zhang Dadan stepped into his yard, he saw his father escorting an elder relative out of the house.
“Dadan, where have you been?” The elder greeted him first.
Zhang Dadan smiled and replied, “Third Uncle! I went to check on the chicken farm in the back mountain! Stay for dinner before you go!”
Third Uncle, smiling broadly, said, “I’ll go home to eat… go home to eat! Your aunt has already made dinner!”
Watching Third Uncle leave, Zhang Dadan waited for his father, then turned into the house to wait for dinner.
“Dadan, there’s something I need to tell you,” Zhang Yousheng said seriously as he sat at the table.
Seeing his father so serious, Zhang Dadan couldn’t help but ask solemnly, “What’s going on? Is something wrong again?”
Zhang Yousheng was about to answer when Wang Cuifen came out of the kitchen angrily, carrying food.
“What else could it be? Just the few bucks at home again!” Wang Cuifen sat down, looking annoyed.
Their unusual behavior made Zhang Dadan puzzled. What was going on? Could there be a significant expense?
“What exactly is it? Are we short on money?” Zhang Dadan glanced at his parents, forcing a smile.
Given his current wealth, there was no need to worry about money at home!
Wang Cuifen frowned, glaring at her husband, and complained, “No matter how much money we have, it’s never enough for your dad to squander!”
Squander? What is she talking about? His father had no bad habits and stayed in the village all the time, so how could he squander?
Just as Zhang Dadan was about to ask, his father helplessly said, “Enough! Stop complaining! What squandering? Aren’t we all family?”
“Family? When we needed money a few years ago, where was your family then?” Wang Cuifen said angrily.
Zhang Yousheng didn’t back down, furiously saying, “We have money now! Don’t be so stingy!”
Hearing his parents’ brief argument, Zhang Dadan realized that Third Uncle must have come to borrow money.
As his parents continued bickering, Zhang Dadan smirked, feeling like a spectator to a show that had nothing to do with him.
Unable to get a response from her son, Wang Cuifen finally snapped and turned to him, “Dadan, say something!”
Hearing this, Zhang Yousheng also looked at his son, waiting to see if he would say something heartless.
“I think it’s funny you’re arguing over such a small matter!” Zhang Dadan commented.
The couple looked at their son, who not only didn’t stop their argument but acted like nothing was wrong, leaving them speechless.
“You ungrateful brat, I raised you for nothing!” Wang Cuifen snapped, picking up her bowl and angrily eating.
Seeing this, Zhang Dadan had to relent, saying with a smile, “Okay! Mom, it’s just money! If we lend it out, we lend it out!”
Hearing this, Wang Cuifen immediately put down her bowl and exaggeratedly said, “Do you know how much your dad lent out? Twenty thousand! A full twenty thousand!”
Twenty thousand wasn’t a big deal to Zhang Dadan, but to the people of Anping Village, it was astronomical.
Curiously, Zhang Dadan asked, “What happened at Third Uncle’s place? Why did he need so much money?”
Seeing his son still in the dark, Zhang Yousheng explained, “It’s not your Third Uncle; he only borrowed two thousand!”
“He’s making soybean paste with someone and needed more money, so he came to us.”
Using two thousand to buy soybeans? How much soybeans would that be? Looks like Third Uncle is going big this time!
Before Zhang Dadan could respond, Wang Cuifen continued, “It’s not just your Third Uncle; since this morning, people have been coming to borrow money. Your dad didn’t hesitate and lent it out. Can you blame me?”
Hearing this, Zhang Dadan finally understood the whole situation. It seemed that many villagers who lacked money came to borrow from them!
He had encouraged the villagers to make soybean paste, but how many could afford the upfront costs of buying soybeans and containers?
Not only were most of them poor, but even those with money would likely come to borrow from their family.
Although making and selling soybean paste was a sure profit deal, why would they invest their own money when they could use his?
But Zhang Dadan didn’t mind their “empty-handed” approach. After all, spending money isn’t a loss if it comes back. As long as they made money, the borrowed money would be repaid, right?
“Alright! Mom, don’t be angry. They borrowed the money to make soybean paste, and they’ll sell it to us eventually,” Zhang Dadan consoled.
Wang Cuifen was tired of living a hard life, and now that her son had finally made some money, seeing it all borrowed away made her resentful.
