Chapter 394: Mid-Air Wedding (Part 3)
He swiftly pulled the partially opened wedding dress off Emma Hart, leaving her exposed in nothing but a set of sexy white lace lingerie, her enticing body completely revealed to the air. Before Emma Hart could react, he pressed a deep, wet kiss onto her lips.
In the deepest part of the plane’s hallway, Harper Clark’s eyes were like a starless night—silent and empty. She sat on the floor, hugging her legs. She didn’t dare move, feeling that each movement would allow the cold, unfamiliar air to attack her fragile body.
"Harper Clark?" Ryan Garcia called out. He had searched the entire wedding venue and bar but couldn’t find the person who always stuck to him, growing increasingly anxious. He searched the plane thoroughly and finally found her in the farthest corner.
"What are you doing here alone? Don’t you know it’s dangerous?" Ryan Garcia’s voice was tinged with anger. The more Harper Clark remained silent, the angrier he became. He reached out to pull her up, but Harper Clark forcefully shrugged him off. "Don’t touch me!" she snapped before rushing into the bathroom where she had been talking to Sophia Greenwood earlier.
"What’s wrong with you!" Ryan Garcia yelled, pounding on the door repeatedly, receiving no response. He stopped his rough behavior, trying to calmly talk to her through the door, "What’s going on with you? You were fine when we got here. We can talk about this, okay?"
"Do you still have feelings for Damien Sterling?" Ryan Garcia felt a pang in his heart as he asked the question.
"No!" Harper Clark urgently opened the bathroom door, looking panicked. Her vehement denial brought Ryan Garcia a strange sense of relief.
He gathered himself and asked Harper Clark what had caused her sudden change. "I just have a stomachache," she said, but the flimsy excuse didn’t fool Ryan Garcia. After persistent questioning and Harper Clark’s internal struggle, she decided to confess everything to Ryan Garcia.
After understanding the situation, Ryan Garcia let out a cold laugh, "I knew it. You only got close to me because it was beneficial." It was all too obvious, and yet he couldn’t bring himself to confront it until now.
"I’m sorry, Ryan. Actually, right now—"
"There’s nothing more to say. I hope you stay away from me and everyone else from now on if you want to stay safe," Ryan Garcia cut her off, turning to leave before she could explain her feelings. His mind was now fixated on one name: Sophia Greenwood. He needed to have a serious talk with her.
As he walked back to the bar, he passed by the bridal lounge. Already in a foul mood, he heard the unmistakable sounds of intimacy from inside, which made him curse under his breath. He decided to play a small prank, knocking on the door loudly before running off.
Inside the room, Damien Sterling and Emma Hart were in the middle of a passionate moment. The sudden knock on the door made them stop abruptly. "What should we do?" Emma Hart’s face flushed red.
"Ignore them," Damien Sterling said. Ryan Garcia, waiting nearby, saw there was no response from the lounge and bored, he walked towards the bar.
In the bar, Sophia Greenwood was chatting with Mr. Sterling Senior. Ryan Garcia smirked, knowing the old man was oblivious to Sophia Greenwood’s dirty deeds.
He poured himself a glass of red wine from the table and joined their conversation with a deliberately casual demeanor.
"Grandpa Sterling, how have you been lately?" Ryan Garcia greeted Mr. Sterling Senior respectfully before turning to Sophia Greenwood with a forced smile. "Sophia, long time no see! Why didn’t you contact us when you returned?"
"Ryan, you look well, which is a relief! How are things with Harper? I’m looking forward to your wedding!" Mr. Sterling Senior was in high spirits today.
"It’s happening soon. By the way, Grandpa, I passed by Emma’s lounge, and Damien is in there too. He asked me to tell you to go over," Ryan Garcia pointed towards the lounge.
"Alright, I’ll head over. You keep Sophia company and have a few drinks!" Mr. Sterling Senior said, setting down his glass and heading towards the lounge.
Ryan Garcia turned to Sophia Greenwood with a sinister grin.
"Ryan? What’s going on?" Sophia Greenwood was surprised by his demeanor.
"Sophia, how’s old Mr. Greenwood doing? He must be quite idle at home these days. If you have time, you should spend more time with him," Ryan Garcia said as he walked away from her.
Sophia Greenwood watched Ryan Garcia with a puzzled expression, their eyes locked until he suddenly let go of his wine glass. The bright red liquid spilled onto the floor with a sharp shatter, spreading glass shards everywhere.
"Oh dear, everything’s broken," Ryan Garcia said, feigning shock.
Sophia Greenwood’s pupils contracted instantly. She quickly grasped Ryan Garcia’s implication, realizing he might know about the Greenwood family’s bankruptcy, a secret she thought was well-kept.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sterling Senior reached the bride’s lounge and knocked on the door, calling out loudly, "Damien! Emma!"
Inside, Damien Sterling was startled and immediately jumped off Emma Hart. They hurriedly dressed and tidied themselves in front of the mirror.
Mr. Sterling Senior’s voice and knocking grew more insistent.
Damien Sterling took two large strides to the door and opened it. "Grandpa, is something wrong?"
"Weren’t you looking for me?" Mr. Sterling Senior asked, bewildered.
The two stared at each other for a moment before Mr. Sterling Senior suddenly turned and left, saying, "I know what’s going on!" Emma Hart and Damien Sterling sighed in relief.
He returned to the bar, angrily searching for any sign of Ryan Garcia, but couldn’t find him anywhere.
By now, the plane had reached the southernmost sea of China.
The lights in the bar dimmed suddenly, prompting the confused guests to look toward the wedding venue where the lights had just turned on. The emcee quickly stepped onto the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, let me once again thank you on behalf of the newlyweds for being here. Now, we’re about to begin the most thrilling event of the wedding, and it’s the final one," the emcee announced mysteriously.
