Chapter 533 - 526: Carrying the Ghost

Chapter 533: Chapter 526: Carrying the Ghost

By the time the night fell, the airboat had finally reached the airspace above the Weird Talk Forest. Leveraging the cover of darkness, the airboat slowly descended, ultimately berthing at an elevation of one thousand meters above the ground.

At this point, the transport planes were already prepared. Once the airboat stabilized, two transport planes left the flight deck in succession. They did not even need to start their propeller engines; they directly used the anti-gravity to deploy the troops.

The mercenaries, who had been previously dispatched to Nailin Town for reconnaissance, had already arrived at Weird Talk Forest according to the scheduled plan to direct their landing. It seemed that they didn’t care about being one person short, apparently, they probably knew what had happened.

Since Luo’er was to put them on standby in the Weird Talk Forest, he discussed in advance with the ghosts, asking them not to disturb the mercenaries. It seemed these ghosts adhered to the agreement, as they did not distress the mercenaries. But as Luo’er was about to land, he could clearly feel magical fluctuations around him, evidently, these ghosts were wandering around this area.

Since they were preparing for trench warfare, the mercenaries were sent in advance to make some arrangements. They had cut down some trees and slightly increased the area of the open space for the transport planes to land. Subsequently, they began to construct their defenses. Despite being only nine of them, they had managed to complete a preliminary trench layout.

Transport planes were continuously deploying forces to the ground. As soon as Luo’er, the first one to land, disembarked from the plane, he felt magical fluctuations around him. It was clear that the ghosts had become impatient and surrounded him.

"Ah ah, Luo’er, Luo’er, you’re here, without you we were so lonely!"

"Oh oh, you guys are kind of handsome!"

"Eh eh, why are there two more girls? Luo’er, you are unfaithful! Where is the girl from before?"

"What are they doing, what are they sitting on, what are they doing?"

A bunch of girls were chirping around Luo’er. Seeing this, Tangmo and Baiyue were first frightened, then became angry. As expected, the reason Luo’er didn’t bring them was to flirt with these girls.

"Everyone, quiet down, be careful not to alarm any nearby Therons." Faced with these young girls, Luo’er could only helplessly wave his hands.

"They’re not here, you can rest assured!" Fulajie’er floated to Luo’er’s ear and whispered to him.

"What happened?" Luo’er asked, then looked at her, puzzled.

"Um, it seems they were lured away by someone and now they are chasing them." One of the ghosts rushed to say.

"It’s the Judgement Legion!" Cheng Ziang revealed the truth with a single sentence.

"Luo’er, I’m scared!" Tangmo defiantly walked to Luo’er’s side, grabbed his arm, and pouted.

"You don’t look scared at all." Luo’er froze for a moment, and his other hand was quickly held by Baiyue.

"Oh, oh, they’ve got Luo’er!" The ghosts immediately shrieked.

"That’s too much, we were obviously here first!"

"Yeah, Luo’er is so fickle, replacing one with two!"

"That’s not true, we knew Luo’er first." Tangmo angrily spoke to the air.

"Alright, alright, let’s not argue now. Let’s complete the mission first, okay?" Luo’er said, breaking down a bit.

Bringing Tangmo and Baiyue to Weird Talk Forest was indeed a mistake, otherwise, they might end up clashing with these ghosts.

At this moment, Luo’er was still weak, but Cheng Ziang stepped forward and scolded them. His words were a lot more effective than Luo’er’s. After the scolding, not only Tangmo and Baiyue but even the ghosts fell silent.

Subsequently, Luo’er assigned these ghosts to accompany the squads in combat. He chose five of the smartest ghosts, who also knew the terrain best, to be riders. A ghost called Lily was selected to accompany one of the small teams; Fulajie’er was chosen as a rider for Luo’er’s second team, followed by Hana, who was assigned to the third team. The remaining ghosts were tasked by Luo’er to monitor the air above their designated areas, acting as reconnaissance aircraft. In case of danger, they would warn the teams within areas of their jurisdiction. Their speed was fast enough to continue reconnaissance in the air after a pass-through.

This effectively opened up a three-dimensional reconnaissance network over the god’s base, with every person’s movements unable to escape the eyes of these ghosts. To facilitate communication, Luo’er also taught them some simple communication words. They didn’t need to understand the meanings, just remember the words.

After all the arrangements, it was already past one in the morning. According to the plan, they would infiltrate the base separately and launch a simultaneous attack at 2:30 am.

Since they had to infiltrate, most of them equipped silencers, including the mercenaries participating in the infiltration operation. For the headquarters, the cost of these was merely small change.

According to the reconnaissance reports from Ghost, there were two possible ways to penetrate the God Creation Base. One was a short wall that they could climb into with the help of ropes. After breaking in, they would reach the area where the girls’ bodies were stored, and they could blast it open from there, creating a passage. The skydiving base was only a thousand meters away from this position.

The other location was the base’s sewage drain. While these people may not be skilled at much, they seemed unnaturally good at constructing large sewage drains. However, according to Ghost, there were guards inside that needed to be dealt with.

As per the plan, Hu Daoke and Cheng Ziang would lead their respective teams to climb over the wall whilst the others entered through the drain. Once inside the base, each team would split up and complete their tasks.

The drain smelled terrible, so everyone had to wear gas masks. Luo’er, who was leading the team, walked at the front with a silenced rifle while Fulajie’er roamed around ahead, occasionally reporting back with reconnaissance results.

The drain was dimly lit, and they had to rely on the soft glow from the Magic Crystal for illumination, causing some of them to stumble and fall occasionally.

"Luo’er, there’s a man ahead... he’s urinating." Fulajie’er reported, her voice a tad shy.

"In your report, mention the distance!" Luo’er said, maintaining a serious expression.

"Oh, he’s about ten meters away..." Fulajie’er quickly corrected herself.

"Roger that, one enemy spotted ten meters ahead!" Luo’er acknowledged and slowly approached while lifting his rifle.

Not far away, there was a platform next to the pipe that connected to a maintenance room. Theron had placed some guards there too. Through the dim light, Luo’er could clearly see a figure casually urinating into the drain.

"Good night!" Luo’er whispered before pulling the trigger. The distant figure, one of Theron’s men, pitched forward into the drain, landing right where he had just urinated.

Despite the silencer and the subsonic ammo, the gunshot still drew attention from the remaining enemies, who carefully made their way toward the platform, weapons in hand.

However, the primary function of a silencer was to distort the gunshot sound, not eliminate it completely. So, the remaining men of Theron heard a muffled thud but had no idea their comrade had been shot dead. They simply thought he had slipped and fallen into the drain while urinating.

"Two more are coming, they’re armed," Fulajie’er urgently reported as she flew back.

"Roger that, two armed enemies approaching!" Luo’er acknowledged, nodding slightly, and moved forward with his gun.

"Hey, what the hell man, did you fall while taking a leak? Did you feel like drinking your piss?" One of Theron’s guards yelled at his fallen comrade below. They didn’t have lighting equipment, so they had no idea that their companion was already dead.

"Check if there are more of them," Luo’er ordered Fulajie’er in a hushed voice.

"Oh!" Fulajie’er responded, drifting away. But she returned quickly, saying, "There’s no one else. Just these two."

"Understood!" Luo’er nodded and took a step forward, mercilessly firing at the guards.

"Thud Thud Thud!" After a few continuous shots, the guards fell as commanded. One landed squarely on the platform while the other fell into the drain.

"Check if they’re dead!" Luo’er commanded.

"Oh!" Fulajie’er immediately flew over, came back and said, "They’re all dead."

"Are there any more inside?" Luo’er continued his questioning.

"No." Fulajie’er answered.

"Say it’s safe if there’s no one there, that means we’ll move in immediately!" Luo’er instructed.

"Oh, I understand now, it’s safe!" Fulajie’er promptly responded.

"Notify everyone, the area is safe. Move into our target area quickly!" Luo’er continued to direct.

"Oh, Oh!" Although not fully understanding Luo’er’s instructions, Fulajie’er still complied with them.
