Otherworld Advance Team
Chapter 359 - 352: Arrest Mission

Chapter 359: Chapter 352: Arrest Mission

When Wang Xu said this, his tone was laced with a hint of murderous intent. When he had wanted to keep this door intact, the information that Nightingale had given him had almost scared him to the point of paralysis. On the way to hand over the information to the courier, he had heavily tripped several times.

A genetic weapon, somebody actually wanted to deploy a genetic weapon through the Otherworld Gate. That would be a horrific act. A genetic weapon is like Pandora’s Box, once opened, the catastrophe could never be contained again.

Fortunately, the defensive forces promptly isolated the Otherworld Gate and initiated a large-scale sterilization and extermination mission. Up until now, no cases of infection have been reported. Luo’er and his group were examined upon their return and the results indicated they had not been infected with the genetic weapon. This relieved Wang Xu’s suspended dread and simultaneously kindled his hatred towards this event’s instigators.

However, even though he knew the Otherworld would not have genetic weapons, this summoner had opened the Otherworld Gate, playing a considerable role in the spread of the genetic weapon. Therefore, he was also a target of Wang Xu’s hatred.

Although according to his superiors, the goal was to capture him alive if possible and killing him only as a last resort, what he expressed was that if they couldn’t catch him, they should directly kill him. There was no worst-case scenario.

"But we know almost nothing about him." Luo’er truthfully responded.

"I have his file here, have a look!" Wang Xu said, signaling to Li Si. Li Si gave a nod of understanding, got up, and handed the stack of files to the attendees.

"Fu’en Frok, Northern Aud; another Northern Aud." Opening the file, Cheng Ziang instinctively murmured. If he remembered correctly, Yalunte was from Northern Aud too.

"This man was once a prodigious student of the Magic Academy but was expelled by the Church Court and kicked out of the academy for delving into forbidden magic. We have reason to believe that more than a decade ago, he collaborated with the CIA and opened a fixed point summoning teleportation method, transporting their people into the Otherworld." Wang Xu said.

"What is forbidden magic?" Shangguan Jiu could not help but ask.

"Forbidden magic are summoning and teleportation. Once, this world tolerated the existence of summoners, but their illegal summoning led to the Continental Monster Rampage, referred to as the Century of Terror. Eventually, the Church Court eliminated the monsters and completely forbade summoning magic, incinerating all related books." Before Wang Xu could speak, Yalunte began. His demeanor did not seem drunk at all. It seemed that his previous state was all an act.

"Exactly," Wang Xu continued, "However, the Church Court only abolished summoning magic through official means. People in the countryside are still practicing this form of magic. These countryside mages may not necessarily know summoning magic, but those who do, are definitely countryside mages."

"This summoner called Fu’en has always been a wanted criminal of the Church Court. Logically, he should not be able to thrive in the north. But strangely, he has consistently been seen there. Therefore, we deduce that an Earth power must be supporting him from behind. As for who it is, I will not further elaborate here." Wang Xu continued.

"But how are we going to find him?" Luo’er pondered and asked.

"You guys don’t have to worry about that, someone will provide you with continuous information about him. You just need to find him and then bring him back. Of course, if you can’t bring him back, then kill him!" Wang Xu coldly said.

"Are we about to depart?" Luo’er asked.

"At the earliest in the next two days, so if you have any equipment requirements, submit them as soon as possible. We will fulfill them within these two days." Wang Xu said.

"I understand," Luo’er nodded, then looked at Murong’s team.

Murong’s team proficiency with automatic weapons was comparatively higher than the Advance Team. Murong was a top-tier shooter, having him join the Advance Team would perfectly fill the short-distance firepower gap.

In their team, except for Zhuanzhu and Shangguan Jiu, they primarily used firearms as their main combat weapons. The Advance Team also had three members mainly using firearms, but if they were to launch an attack, normally only Luo’er and Hu Daoke can be main attackers. Therefore, they eventually had Cheng Ziang fill in as a temporary main attacker, so even in situations that didn’t require close combat, Cheng Ziang could participate in the enemy’s firepower suppression.

From a year of roughing it in the Otherworld, Luo’er’s summarized experience told him that firepower suppression always came in handy, whether it was Earth or the Otherworld, the reasoning was the same. Hence, instead of letting the members do their own thing, centralizing the use of firearms to enhance the team’s suppression capabilities was more effective.

"Do you have something to say?" Wang Xu asked Luo’er, who appeared to be lost in thought.

"Murong’s squad will temporarily join the Advance Team, right?" Luo’er looked at him and asked.

"Oh, I almost forgot," Wang Xu smacked his head and then said, "All members of Murong’s second squad will join the Advance Team and follow Luo’er’s command, understood?"

"Understood!" Murong nodded, showing no signs of resistance.

"Hmm..." Luo’er pondered for a moment. If so, then the Advance Team now has ten people and Yalunte...

At this thought, he glanced at Yalunte and couldn’t help but ask: "Does Mr. Sword Saint also plan to join us in combat?"

"Ha, I don’t mind, actually following you guys is also part of my task," Yalunte said with a laugh, then turned to Wang Xu and asked, "You will give me a commission, right?"

Wang Xu looked at him with a disgusted expression. When did this guy become so shameless, acting as if he was very familiar with everyone? After a moment of silence, he grudgingly said, "Yes, yes!"

So that made eleven people, an eleven-person team, and basically, no one was dragging the team down, which in the Otherworld was already considered a rather strong small team.

Among these people, Cheng Ziang, Yalunte, and Zhuanzhu were the melee fighters, Cheng Ziang could switch to a rifleman when needed. Then there were Murong and Baiyue, two ranged support firepower, as well as Shangguan Jiu and Tangmo, two mages, so the remaining riflemen were a total of four people, where Hu Daoke and Wu Tairan were those who could suppress firepower. This way, the team’s firepower could be said to have been greatly supplemented.

On their way to pursue Fu’en, they didn’t know how dangerous the path would be. There were bound to be a number of mages around Fu’en to aid him, and to fight these people, they would need powerful firepower to suppress them.

"So now, you want me to command?" Luo’er was silent for a while before he looked at the others and asked.

"Of course, you’re the captain after all!" Wang Xu said.

"I’m most humbly obliged." Luo’er nodded. No adjustments seemed necessary now, the team was in very good shape, as long as there were no internal mistakes, Luo’er felt that their mission was pretty much in the bag.

"If anyone has any suggestions, seize the moment and speak up, otherwise the meeting is adjourned. You can rest at your camp for two days, we’ll get all your gear ready for you." Wang Xu looked around at everyone and said.

After leaving the meeting room, Tangmo voluntarily walked towards the confinement room, which made Luo’er laugh and cry at the same time. But seeing that she had the sense to admit her mistakes, Luo’er felt quite comforted.

Baiyue seemed very busy, she had disappeared as soon as she walked out of the office. According to Li Si, it seems that Shariya, the dean who was recuperating at the camp, wanted to teach her some magic, so she should have gone to learn.

It had to be said that Luo’er’s inadvertent actions had indeed made the headquarters a big profit. Because of Shariya, the Church Court was very grateful to the headquarters and hence had given them quite a few benefits. The negotiations between the two sides also became more in-depth and harmonious.

"Luo’er!" Murong called out to him from behind, and then walked over.

"What’s up?" Luo’er looked at him and asked.

"Well..." Murong looked left and right, and after making sure that there was no one else around, he said to him, "You’re going to be our captain and lead us. I have no objections. But as for my teammates, scold them if you need to, especially Zhuanzhu, don’t consider my feelings."

"I don’t scold people." Luo’er looked at him and said.

"Then you can discipline them, right?" Murong said, somewhat helplessly.

"I know that. I will not show mercy when it comes to discipline." Luo’er said.

"That’s good," Murong nodded, then smiled and went on, "You know, I didn’t use to respect you, but after seeing how you led the Advance Team to achieve so much for the Headquarters, I can’t help but feel that I can’t compare to you."

"I’m just doing my duty, you don’t have to praise me like that." Luo’er said.

"I heard that you’re quite popular with the ladies in the Otherworld. Is that true?" Murong asked unexpectedly, a mischievous look on his face.

At his question, Luo’er’s face turned a bit stiff. He quickly turned his face away, shifted his gaze and said, "Don’t pay attention to those people’s nonsense."

"Our Jiu’er is utterly charmed by you, she can’t stop thinking about you." Murong said with a smirk on his face.

"You’re here to make fun of me, aren’t you?" Luo’er asked, a look of embarrassment on his face.

Before coming to the Otherworld, he had no idea that he would be so popular with the girls. Even though he was the most despised half-elf race in the Otherworld. But in the end, not to mention the likes of the noble young lady, Feliz, even Princess Masia, who was as prestigious as Melia, had secretly taken a liking to him. This had made Luo’er doubt for a time whether there was any truth to the alleged discrimination against half-elves.

"Of course not," Murong laughed, then stretched out his hand, openly saying, "Pleasure to cooperate, let’s just forget about the past!"

After hesitating for a moment, Luo’er reached out and shook his hand, then nodded and said, "Pleasure to cooperate!"
