Otherworld Advance Team
Chapter 350 - 343: Good News

Chapter 350: Chapter 343: Good News

"I’m glad everyone is okay. Now the only worry left is for Ziang and his team," Luo’er sighed with relief, and then began to worry about Cheng Ziang and his team again.

"They should have all entered the Otherworld Gate before the explosion, right?" Tangmo said guiltily. If Cheng Ziang and Yalunte died in the explosion because of her, she would truly be a criminal.

"Moumou, contact the headquarters immediately and find out their whereabouts," Luo’er urged with a furrowed brow, "With Earth’s communication technology, if Ziang’s team has already entered Earth, the headquarters should know of their whereabouts within an hour."

"I know!" Tangmo was already preparing to do so without Luo’er reminding her. After all, everyone was safe and unharmed, even Luo’er didn’t suffer severe damage from the magic impact. Thus, Cheng Ziang became the only person they couldn’t stop worrying about for now.

"Can everyone walk on their own?" Luo’er looked around and asked loudly.

"Dean Shariya is still not awake." Feliz said, and then continued casting spells on him.

"Let me help you!" Baiyue struggled to get up from the ground and then went to her, saying expressionlessly.

"Thank you."

Feliz looked a bit scared at the expressionless beautiful girl before her. The girl’s hood was blown off by the shockwave, revealing a pair of fluffy long ears. But she apparently didn’t realize this, squatting in front of Feliz without any concern, and then started casting healing magic for Shariya.

"Oh, she is from the Beast-Ear Race..." Feliz gazed at her long ears, mumbling in a low voice.

Luo’er’s team indeed comprises all sorts of hybrids. Luo’er himself is a half-elf, Hu Daoke, the big man, is a half-beastman, while the girl in front of her, Baiyue, is of the Beast-Ear Race. As for Tangmo, although her basic characteristics are not visible, based on her height, it can basically be determined that she is related to the Dwarf Race.

"Boss, my baby is broken again!" Hu Daoke mourned, showing him the RPK light machine gun in his hand with a bent barrel.

"If it’s broken, just replace it. It’s not the first time it’s been broken. Last time you even lost it," Luo’er said, trying to suppress his laughter at the sight of Hu Daoke’s devastated expression.

"You don’t understand, I have to take responsibility for my weapon. After all, Soviet weapons are the best. I have to ask the headquarters for another Soviet weapon after I get back," Hu Daoke mumbled to himself.

Not long after, Tangmo completed the sending of the magic messenger. Then, Shariya, who was injured, finally woke up slowly under the healing of the two girls. As soon as he opened his eyes, he couldn’t help but groan, feeling pain all over his body.

"Dean Shariya, are you okay?" Luo’er squatted in front of him and asked with concern.

"Every part of my body is hurting, what on Earth happened?" Shariya gasped in pain while grinding his teeth.

"Oh, these are just external injuries, they’re not serious. Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere inside your body?" Luo’er asked.

Shariya slowly lifted his fractured left arm to take a look, and then touched the wound on his head with his intact right arm. He sighed, then said, "I’m old, my body can’t handle it. I’m afraid I won’t be able to use forbidden curse level magic much longer."

"Can you walk?" Luo’er asked.

"No problem, I just need some rest," Shariya said, then used his hand to block the drizzle falling from the sky and frowned, "But it doesn’t seem like a good place to rest."

"You better get up first. We’ll rest when we move to the camp. As for your wound, if you’re willing, I can request our superiors to provide special treatment for you," Luo’er said.

"Your superiors, are they Earth people?" Shariya asked, looking at him.

"Yes!" Luo’er answered straightforwardly.

Hearing his answer, Shariya sighed deeply, then said, "If I remember correctly, Earth’s medical technology should be very advanced. If you’re willing to save an old man like me, of course, I have no objections."

Shariya’s left hand wound must be surgically treated. Otherwise, using healing magic directly might lead to complications. After all, healing magic only speeds up the wound healing process. Strictly speaking, there is no magic specifically for curing diseases in the Otherworld.

"Alright, then, Feliz, help Dean Shariya up. We’re about to set off." Luo’er ordered Feliz to help Shariya to her feet.

Everyone briefly checked their gear, then prepared to set off. According to Luo’er’s plan, they would first go to the Otherworld Gate to inspect the situation and confirm that it was fully closed before returning to camp.

Following a pothole-filled street, the group slowly moved towards the central square of the Otherworld Gate. The entire city had once again fallen into deathly silence. Aside from the pitter-patter of rain, there were no other sounds to be heard.

The explosion had caused light and heat to scorch this area, so they could clearly see the evidence of the intense heat. The rain washed away the charred black carbon, forming streams of black water. Even though it was still raining, they could still smell the burnt scent in the air.

Corpses were scattered all around. Many were burned to only leave their bones, even the wood protection part of their rifles was burned to ash, leaving only the blackened metal parts.

The explosion had once again destroyed this ancient city. Not to mention the temporary tents, even the sturdy houses built from green stones had crumbled under the force of the shockwave, turning into a pile of ruins.

Suddenly, Luo’er, who was leading the group, halted and raised his fist, signaling everyone to stop.

"Everyone, cover your mouth and nose with cloth to avoid infection," Luo’er thought of the gene viruses carried by these people and commanded sternly, "No one is to touch these people, even if they’re still alive. If they come near, shoot them down on sight!"

Most of the Advance Team consisted of mixtures of Earth and Otherworld people, judging by the co-ordinates of the Otherworld Gate, this gene weapon was very likely targeted at the East Asian Race. Baiyue was relatively safer, given that her father didn’t belong to the East Asian Race, but the others weren’t so lucky. If they were infected by the virus, it would be too late to return for treatment.

Upon hearing Luo’er’s command, everyone found a simple cloth strip to cover their mouths and noses. Although Feliz and Shariya were from the Otherworld, they still obeyed Luo’er’s command. After all, they didn’t know whether the gene virus was also targeted at people from the Otherworld.

"Damn it, even the Otherworld people didn’t get treated this harshly. They actually used gene weapons on their own people!" Hu Daoke muttered bitterly as he covered his mouth and nose with cloth.

With their mouths and noses covered, the group moved on. The closer they got to the center of the Otherworld Gate, the more tense they became. Luo’er and Hu Daoke were even prepared to shoot. After all, despite the huge explosion, nobody knew how many had survived it.

The area around the Otherworld Gate was a flat square, which was now completely empty. The force of the explosion had scattered everything in the vicinity, and the area surrounding the center of the explosion had an outward radiation pattern.

However, to Luo’er’s surprise, the Otherworld Gate was unscathed, despite the violent explosion. The gate pillar still stood, and even the inscriptions on it remained undamaged from the explosion. He wondered how the mages back then had managed to destroy this pillar and engrave the inscriptions.

Honestly, even though the members of the Advance Team had entered the Otherworld through the Otherworld Gate, they had never gotten the chance to closely inspect it. When they entered the Otherworld Gate last year, the people from the CIA were ferociously hunting them down, leaving them no chance to stay.

But now, this closed Otherworld Gate loomed before them, offering a rare chance to closely observe this magnificent and wondrous architecture.

Luo’er slowly approached and touched the gate pillar. It was a strange material, hardened, but not like metal. It was more like stone. The first impression Luo’er had was that this door seemed to be carved from marble.

The Otherworld Gate was said to be built by the Ancestors and was probably tens of thousands of years old, if not older. However, the pillar showed no signs of natural weathering and there were no signs of moss growing on the inscriptions. Despite being exposed to countless years, the pillar remained as pristine as if it was newly constructed, leaving people in awe of the Ancestors’ craftsmanship.

"Oh, glorious Otherworld Gate, the Great Emperor Odlandt of yore defeated the invading beasts right here, safeguarding the peace of the continent and the glory of the Aud Empire," Shariya couldn’t help her excitement at the sight of the towering Otherworld Gate, raising her right hand to praise it.

"Didn’t the Aud Empire decline after repelling the beast invasion?" Hu Daoke whispered to the side.

At this time, the Otherworld Gate was merely a door frame. Luo’er reached out tentatively and discovered that his hand could pass through it with ease. In other words, they had successfully closed the Otherworld Gate.

Seeing this, everyone couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement. Despite their heavy losses, they had ultimately completed their mission – they had closed the Otherworld Gate and saved their country.

"Speaking of which, does this mean there’s also a closed door on the other side of this gate?" Hu Daoke suddenly asked.

"Who knows," Luo’er answered, looking up at the Otherworld Gate.

Just as everyone was rejoicing over the closure of the Otherworld Gate, Tangmo suddenly received a message from Headquarters. She read the message printed on the paper and immediately broke into a joyous smile, exclaiming excitedly, "Ziang and the others are safe! They’ve been picked up by Headquarters!"
