Chapter 1850 - 1843: A Loving Father and a Filial Daughter

Chapter 1850: Chapter 1843: A Loving Father and a Filial Daughter

Hearing his words, Feng sneered, and the more she laughed, the louder it became, until tears squeezed out from the corners of her eyes.

"What, do you want me to become the culprit?" she asked with a cold smile.

"Then what do you want?"

"Let’s put an end to this here. Our grievances, let them be settled. I do not belong here, so I should leave," Feng said mercilessly.

"No, don’t go!"

In a moment of desperation, Bailong An disregarded his demeanor and stepped forward, trying to hold Feng back.

But before he got close, he heard the sound of a blade being drawn with a clang. Feng instantly drew her waist blade, pointing it straight at his nose, saying coldly, "Get back, don’t touch me!"

Such a tense scene even startled the surrounding guards, who quickly gathered around with uneasy gazes darting back and forth between the two.

"Step back, who allowed you to come up?"

Bailong An, afraid of provoking Feng further, quickly scolded the guards. Then he turned back to Feng, pleading, "Please don’t leave yet, stay for a while, won’t you? I can give you whatever you want. If there’s anything you feel I did wrong, I can change it."

"If a person can right their wrongs with an apology, can the dead be brought back to life with it?" Feng asked mockingly.

"Why do you care so much about those people’s lives and deaths? Are they more important than your father?"

Bailong An could not understand Feng’s mind, just as he could not understand Luo’er. These people clearly possess great strength, yet they tread carefully everywhere, making their intentions unfathomable.

"Even the weakest life doesn’t deserve to be taken away arbitrarily. This is what Luo’er taught me, and it’s a principle I’ve always followed."

Without waiting for Bailong An to speak, Feng continued, "Since you care about this question so much, I might as well answer you properly..."

"Before I met Luo’er, my master only taught me martial arts, the ultimate martial arts. Back then, I had no concept of compassion. For me, anyone who opposed me could be killed. What is life? Whether these people deserved to die, I never gave it thought. But it was in such circumstances that I met Luo’er..."

"You cannot deny that the team Luo’er leads is a standard combat unit. They would fire without hesitation at their enemies and kill them..."

"However, they clearly distinguish between who is an enemy and who is a friend. They never fire upon the innocent, nor do they stab their friends in the back. Even enemies are differentiated between those who can be swayed and those who cannot. Although they cannot hide the fact that they take lives, in another sense, they achieve the optimal solution..."

"If Luo’er stood in your position, I guess he would most likely give up the idea of revenge and be unwilling to become a pawn of the Wu Family. Only you would willingly act as someone else’s pawn for your selfish desires..."

"Those people may not have been killed by your own hands, but they died because of you. You boast of having a clear conscience, but only because heads haven’t rolled to your feet, and blood hasn’t splattered on your clothes. How are you any different from the bloodthirsty me of years ago?"

"I’ve finally started living the life of a normal person. I don’t want to continue living in schemes and plots every day. Let’s end it here. I have no interest in your throne, but please don’t entangle with me anymore. Farewell!"

After speaking, Feng turned away without hesitation.

"Stop, you’re not allowed to leave!"

Just as she reached the palace door, someone blocked her way, and the surrounding guards tacitly blocked her path.

Feng looked closely and realized it was He Yuling of Jiangzhou, one of the four who assisted Bailong An’s ascension.

"You dare stand in my way?" Feng asked coldly.

"I’ve heard of the Princess’s extraordinary martial arts, and I wish to learn from you," He Yuling said with a sly smile, cupping his hands.

"You’re not worthy, step aside!"

After speaking, Feng closed her eyes slightly, ready to head out.

"Once you step out of this door, you will no longer be a princess. Do you know the consequences?" He Yuling asked deliberately.

"So, you don’t intend to let me leave?"

"Princess, it is safer to stay in the palace." He answered evasively.

Feng did not speak, but turned back to glance at Bailong An. His face was full of unease. They exchanged a glance, but he shamefully lowered his head and averted his gaze.

Feng then surveyed the room, looking at the armored and skilled guards.

She knew very well that without the support of Source river technology, it would be difficult to break through the encirclement of so many people.

In the Western Continent, she could kill freely, but here in the East Continent, even as a cultivator she wasn’t at an advantage as her enemies were cultivators too. Only Source river technology enabled her to fight against ten.

So, is there really no way out?

Not entirely.

Feng took a deep breath with her eyes closed, lifted her blade, and suddenly turned toward Bailong An. Seeing her seemingly changing her mind, Bailong An had a rare smile of delight.

But Feng’s pace quickened, eventually turning into a sprint. Realizing something was amiss, He Yuling shouted immediately, "Not good, protect the Majesty!"

But it was too late; before the guards could react, Feng had already achieved her goal.

She reached Bailong An, placed a hand on his shoulder, slipped past him like a fish, and ended up behind him. The sharp blade instantly pressed against his neck.

Bailong An was stunned, not daring to make a sound because even a slight movement of his throat could cause the blade to cut his skin instantly.

Feng grabbed the back of his collar with her left hand, holding the blade in her right, pressing it against Bailong An’s neck, and coldly asked everyone, "So what now, are you going to let me go, or do you all want to die with your Majesty?"

"You’re crazy, that’s your father!" He Yuling exclaimed in shock.

"So what, you can find another puppet!" Feng sneered.

Feng was Bailong An’s lawful heir, and if she killed him, she should by rights ascend the throne and also face execution, leaving the Wu Family without two crucial assets. Faced with such turbulent politics, they couldn’t guarantee their footing in the Capital City.

So, just a simple slice by Feng, and the Wu Family would suffer the most. Now, they were forced to choose one of two options: save one or lose both.

"Don’t act rashly, let the Majesty go first."

He Yuling tried to appease her while sending someone to call for help.

"You say nothing, is it out of resentment or speechlessness?" Feng ignored him and whispered fiercely in Bailong An’s ear.

Cold sweat dripped down Bailong An’s forehead. He said nothing, desperately maintaining the composure expected of an Emperor Wu.

"Why must you do this, Your Majesty has not wronged you. Now you are the Princess, second only to one person, and will one day lead the Heavenly Dynasty. Why do something so outrageous?" He Yuling advised.

"I know nothing of being second to one or leading the Heavenly Dynasty. I am only repaying the debt of giving birth to me to this man. Within this realm, you can command me however you wish. Now that debt is settled, I must leave—why do you stop me?"

Feng spoke with some agitation, as if she spoke both to He Yuling and Bailong An.

"What child speaks like this to their parent?"

"Shut up, you’re not qualified to teach me how to live!"

"Calm down and release His Majesty."

"Release him, and then what will you do? Kill me or imprison me?"

While speaking, Feng lifted Bailong An’s chin with the blade, forcing him to raise his head and expose his undefended throat: "Whichever it is, as long as I can’t leave here, he won’t live either."

"Do you really hate me that much?" Bailong An asked with a wronged voice, frowning.

"Yes, as long as I remember that the same blood flows through me as you, I feel disgusted and wish to replace all my blood!" Feng gritted her teeth and said.
