Chapter 1450: Chapter 1443: Old Friends Meet

He hesitated for a moment before Tangmo continued, "Actually, I really don’t understand why Xiao Ang, just like you, insists on protecting a little girl he just met. But since he chose to do so, we, as teammates, naturally need to lend a hand."

"So, should we send someone there to keep an eye on Yichuan Ying?" Luo’er pondered for a moment before he couldn’t help asking.

"Aren’t you worried that going to Aximiya might lead to trouble?" Tangmo asked, narrowing his eyes and tilting his head.

"Not really," Luo’er shook his head and replied seriously, "With Ziang having Liseya by his side and Feng as a skilled protector, I really can’t imagine any danger that could harm him."

Speaking, his expression turned serious again: "However, we still need to send someone to help, or else they might find themselves overwhelmed."

"Who should we send?" Tangmo and Baiyue exchanged a knowing glance, a bit anxiously.

"Um..." Luo’er lowered his head, thought for a moment, then looked up at Baiyue and said, "Yue’er, you go. Join them on a trip to Aximiya Island, and just find someone to protect Yichuan Ying."

"Me?" Baiyue pointed to herself, stunned at first and then asked with a hint of bitterness.

"Well, going to Aximiya Island would be a good opportunity to survey the local natural and cultural environment; Teacher Zhu needs that information, and you’re the best choice for documenting it," Luo’er stated his perspective.

After finishing, he took a deep breath, then stared at Baiyue, curiously asking, "What, are you not willing?"

"No, I’m willing," Baiyue quickly shook her head, then lowered it and spoke in a subdued voice, "as long as it’s arranged by you..."

"What?" Luo’er tilted his head and asked.

"Oh no, it’s nothing. When do we leave?" Baiyue waved her hand and asked.

"Um, first go and talk to Teacher Zhu to see if she has any specific requirements. After you’re prepared, I’ll speak with Zisu about the situation, and you should follow her to the front line as soon as possible," Luo’er instructed.

"Alright, I’ll arrange it now." Baiyue nodded, then left Luo’er with a somewhat forlorn expression.

Tangmo watched guiltily as Baiyue walked away, then approached Luo’er and sighed, "Sometimes I really don’t know whether you are truly oblivious or just pretending."

"What?" Luo’er blinked in confusion.

"Never mind," Tangmo shook her head, then smiled, "while Yue’er is away, I’ll flirt less with you, to keep things fair."

"What are you talking about," Luo’er scratched his head, "but I’m glad you can focus on other things, not just me."

"What do you mean by that? Are you rejecting me?" Tangmo pouted unhappily.

"Not at all; it’s just that sometimes your enthusiasm is a bit too much to handle," Luo’er explained.

"As long as you are willing to commit to me, I promise not to be so enthusiastic," Tangmo winked earnestly.

"Forget it, that might not be the best idea..." Luo’er replied doubtfully, his cheeks slowly turning red.

"Why am I so earnest, yet you always remain indifferent?" Tangmo sighed deeply, looking somewhat dejected.

"Love should develop naturally," Luo’er comforted.

"Sleeping together and doing some shameful things, is that not natural enough?" Tangmo suddenly widened her eyes and raised her voice in question.

"Too, too fast, too fast..." Luo’er’s cheeks turned even redder as he waved his hands repeatedly.

The blushing Luo’er had a certain charm about him, which was precisely why Tangmo always liked to tease him. Being of mixed Elf heritage, Luo’er had a pure and clean little face that remained unaltered even under sun and wind, something that Tangmo had always envied.

She vaguely remembered when Luo’er had first approached her. Back then, when she could look him in the eye and talk to him, Tangmo couldn’t restrain her impulses and would physically explore him, leading to a very awkward situation.

The longer they were together, Tangmo’s desire for Luo’er didn’t subside but rather intensified, even evolving into a split personality. She naturally assumed that she and Luo’er were meant for each other, thus becoming extremely sensitive towards any woman trying to approach him.

Tangmo carried a notebook with her always, filled with conversations between her and her other self. The other Momo had written down the words "drugging him" more than once, but each time, she would cross them out.

This back and forth resulted in a whole page crammed with the words "drugging him"; if Luo’er were to see it, he would probably be terribly frightened.

They had slept together multiple times, but they were always fully clothed sleeps, sticking to hugging each other and keeping it at that. Tangmo was well aware of Luo’er’s thoughts. If they were to have sexual relations, he would definitely take responsibility. He was very cautious about such matters, so Tangmo didn’t want to put him in a difficult position.

After some discussion, Luo’er met with Zisu. He agreed in principle to Zisu’s request to have Cheng Ziang and others accompany her to Aximiya Island for protection, but he had one condition: that Baiyue should go along for a scientific expedition.

Zisu felt relieved by Luo’er’s arrangement, but also could not help being curious: why were they so fixated on these expeditions?

After relinquishing her leadership role in the Advance Team, Zhuyan Yu had been immersed in studying the natural and cultural aspects of West Outer Heaven, leaving all the leadership duties to Luo’er.

Although Luo’er felt the pressure greatly increased, he understood Zhuyan Yu’s approach. As a major officer but primarily a research-oriented talent, leading the entire Advance Team wasn’t her forte. It made more sense to delegate power to Luo’er.

However, puzzling as it was, Zisu could discern some of Luo’er’s cunning intentions. For instance, transferring people to the front line wasn’t just for conducting an expedition. It was to have their own people watch over Yichuan Ying to prevent her from being used as a bargaining chip by the Demon Clan.

Zisu felt a bit helpless about this. Since the Demon Clan was not united themselves, she couldn’t dominate the decisions alone; it was natural for the people of the Western Continent to have their own thoughts.

She didn’t mention this outright but simply took Baiyue and departed directly to the front line on the third day.

The two of them, along with some attendants, hurried day and night, taking three days to reach the front line from Big South East Peace City, where Baiyue finally had her desired reunion with Cheng Ziang and his party.

"Yue’er, I’ve missed you so much." The moment Hu Daoke saw Yue’er, his eyes filled with tears, and he wailed as he threw himself at her.

Baiyue didn’t refuse; she hugged him briefly and then patted his shoulder, comforting the genuinely upset Hu Daoke.

Nearby, Cheng Ziang shook his head helplessly, but seeing Baiyue coming over on her own, he didn’t fall into clichés and hugged her as well, somewhat comforted as he patted her shoulder.

Feng was even more enthusiastic. She was the type who didn’t talk much but had intense emotions. When it was her turn, she hugged Baiyue tightly, to the point where Baiyue struggled to breathe.

"Hey, hey, hey, Little Fengye, if you hug any tighter, it might be lethal," Hu Daoke said, quickly grabbing Feng’s arm to intervene.

After finally pulling Feng away, Baiyue got a chance to catch her breath., Cheng Ziang looked at her seriously and asked, "What did Luo’er send you here for?"

"Luo’er asked me to go with you guys to Aximiya Island, as part of the expedition," Baiyue truthfully replied.

"No," Cheng Ziang blinked, his brain struggling to keep up, "I wrote him a confidential letter asking him not to just send someone for the expedition."

"I know," said Baiyue earnestly, "I’m coming with you so you can allocate someone to protect Yichuan Ying."

"That’s hardly a solution; I didn’t even want to go," Cheng Ziang said, spreading his hands helplessly.

"If you didn’t want to go, you should have refused outright instead of dumping this problem on Luo’er," Baiyue said, slightly furrowing her brows.
