Chapter 1001: Chapter 994: Finally Obtaining the Precious Treasure

"It’s fine, let her rest well; there’s no need for her to fight anymore," Luo’er waved his hand, unavoidably showing a sheepish expression.

This time, to break free from the tomb, Feng had once again used all her magic power to launch a massive attack. While her body’s meridians can recover, such actions couldn’t be a long-term solution; the Advance Team couldn’t rely on her to unleash massive attacks whenever trouble arose.

Previously, Luo’er had thought that if it really came down to it, Tangmo could rapidly infuse Feng with magic power, then let her rejoin the battle, but looking at it now, this idea was indeed very inhumane.

The damaged meridians, time and again subjected to the flow of magic power, were a type of pain only those who had experienced Magic Power Erosion could truly understand. Forcing Feng to repeatedly wield magic regardless of her physical condition was indeed too much to ask, which was why Luo’er felt ashamed.

"I, I can still fight," Feng interpreted Luo’er’s sheepish expression as disappointment, so she struggled to stand up and said with faux bravado.

"Alright, stop talking nonsense, and don’t you dare move! Just rest properly!" Tangmo held her again, scolding with a frown. At this moment, she finally showed some of the responsibility befitting an older sister.

"Everyone, take a moment to adjust before meeting up with Little Ke and the others. Then the team will head directly towards Luscaque, aiming to resolve Tana’s matter as soon as possible," Luo’er instructed.

"I know," Tangmo nodded, and glanced at Luo’er with a bit of worry, then pursed her lips before speaking, "Luoer, you mustn’t get into trouble again."

"I know, I’ll be careful," Luo’er nodded in response.

The group spent roughly half an hour tidying up the scene and seized quite a number of firearms. Of course, these weapons were still mainly bolt-action rifles, but there was also a significant proportion of semi-automatic ones. Altogether, considering the adventurers from the previous group who were killed, the Advance Team had captured over a hundred firearms from this tomb raid alone.

Of course, they couldn’t possibly take all those weapons with them. The Advance Team’s carrying capacity was already limited, and they still had to carry provisions for the journey; they couldn’t dedicate themselves to transporting these weapons. So after a brief selection, they took away the newer-looking firearms, burying the rest on the spot, not even bothering to leave them for those who might come later. After all, firearms were always dangerous and leaving them to the inexperienced could only breed accidents.

After packing up, the group set off toward the camp. At this time, Hu Daoke was still at the high point with his rifle, covering their retreat, not daring to be careless. After reuniting with him, they finally returned to the camp they had left behind for so long.

Eve was holding a rifle and dozing off by the fire, but when she saw everyone returning safely, she excitedly stood up and ran towards them.

This expedition, except for the battle to leave the tomb, had hardly any fighting, yet everyone felt as though they had been through a century, as if they had been in the tomb for an hour but the world had aged a century.

If it weren’t for the unchanged appearance of Hu Daoke and Eve, they might have really thought they had lived through a century.

Unexpectedly, this excursion into the tomb had yielded unforeseen discoveries; they had garnered insight into the nature of the Magic World and finally understood the origins of the Ancestors and the Elves. It must be said that apart from not finding the Ancestor’s Holy Book, the group could consider their gains quite substantial.

By now, night had fallen, and the group gathered around the campfire, talking to each other. The restless Luo’er was also preparing dinner for everyone.

Hu Daoke pestering Cheng Ziang to tell his ancestors’ stories, and although Cheng Ziang was in low spirits, he couldn’t escape Hu Daoke’s persistence and recounted the events in the tomb with a sullen face. Meanwhile, on the other side, Eve wrapped Axia in a conversation about the amazing scene they encountered in the tomb.

As Eve listened to Axia’s description, her expression became increasingly grave, eventually bowing her head into a long silence.

"What’s wrong, child?" Axia asked with concern.

"No, it’s nothing," Eve lifted her head, then looked at Axia and asked, "Auntie, have you ever seen the contents of the Holy Book of the Ancestors?"

"No," Axia shook her head, then blinked her eyes and looked at Eve, "Why, have you?"

"Mhm." Eve nodded faintly, then turned away without paying more attention to her, walking over to Luo’er. After a moment’s hesitation, she asked, "Luo’er, the metal plate that can play the stage drama, did you bring it with you?"

"Eh? Oh," Luo’er paused, and then turned to nod, "Of course, we brought it. We plan to take it back to our base and play it again to see if we can find more valuable information."

"I see," Eve nodded and then bowed her head in thought, seemingly hesitant about something. After a while, she raised her head again to look at Luo’er and asked, "Luo’er, have you ever seen the contents of the Holy Book of the Ancestors?"

"No, I only saw the cover back then," Luo’er shook his head, answering truthfully.

"I’ve read some, but I can’t say I’ve read it since I don’t understand Ancient Aud script. It was Fu’en who read it to me," Eve said.

"I see," Luo’er nodded, while looking at Eve with a puzzled expression, feeling that there was something inconsistent about what she said.

Noticing Luo’er’s gaze, Eve took a deep breath and then said with pursed lips, "Congratulations, Luo’er?"

"Congratulations for what?" Luo’er asked, looking utterly confused.

"Congratulations on finding the Ancestors’ Holy Book!" Eve stated calmly.

"Why do you say that?" Luo’er’s eyes widened, hardly believing his ears, his face filled with more surprise than joy.

"Because the play you saw in the tomb is the content of the Ancestors’ Holy Book. No, rather, the Ancestors’ Holy Book is a direct transcription of that play, turned into a book," Eve replied.

"Really?" Excitement began to replace the astonishment on Luo’er’s face.

"Yes," Eve nodded, then continued, "From what I’ve heard from Fu’en, the Ancestors’ Holy Book is actually a dialogue record, documenting a debate between two people. So when Aunt Axia mentioned the play you encountered, I immediately thought of the Ancestors’ Holy Book."

"So, the Ancestors’ Holy Book is actually a book written by the author who directly transcribed the dialogues after watching those plays," Luo’er said, hardly able to believe his own ears.

"It should be that way. You’ve only listened to one play, there should be more. Those two people will reveal everything about the Ancestors. If you want to find information related to the Otherworld Gate, you just need to listen to the play a few more times," Eve answered.

"That’s, that’s great, so great!!" Upon hearing this, Luo’er became overjoyed and couldn’t help but hug Eve, saying excitedly, "Thank you, thank you for reminding us, we’ve finally found it..."

Eve blushed, pushed Luo’er away forcefully, and said with shy frown, "Don’t do that, try to calm down a bit."

"So, sorry, I got too excited," Luo’er said, a bit incoherently.

"Luo’er, what are you doing?" Just then, Tangmo, with a stern face, walked up and asked gloomily, clearly coming to take him to task.

"Moumou, no need to search high and low, for we’ve found it without any effort, we’ve finally found it!" Luo’er hugged her and jumped in place, unable to contain his excitement.

"Found, found what?" Tangmo asked, blinking with a mixture of surprise and composure, trying to maintain her poise.

"The Ancestors’ Holy Book, we’ve found the Ancestors’ Holy Book!" Luo’er said, thrilled.

His voice was loud, so almost everyone heard him and turned to look at him.

"Really? Where is it?" Tangmo asked, astonished.

"It’s the play we saw today, that’s the content of the Ancestors’ Holy Book!" Luo’er said with a smile.

"Eh, is that so?" Tangmo’s eyes grew wide, her face filled with curiosity.

"Yes, that’s right, that’s right, Eve just confirmed it, the content of the Ancestors’ Holy Book is what we saw in the stage play today," Luo’er said.

"Ah, that’s fantastic, we can finally go back now," Tangmo said with narrowing eyes, a grin spreading across her face as she took the opportunity to loop her arms around Luo’er’s neck – she wouldn’t miss such a perfect chance.
