Chapter 72: Chapter 72 Marriage Proposal In The Lobby

"Sure."

Serbian thanked her and went to sit in the lobby.

To the confusion of Eric, Jett turned and took his seat at the farther end of the lobby, crossing his legs.

A minute later, a familiar face walked in holding a bouquet of beautiful flowers, a group of rich scions trailing behind him.

It was Bryan Baker.

His friends were rather loud as they asked him one question after the other.

"Are you sure about this? Laura is very beautiful. There’s not much girls that can match her beauty here in Silicone Valley."

"Hey, if Bryan said this new girl is way prettier than Laura, then you should know she must be as pretty as he says."

"You’re right. He does have good eye for women. I ask him for help when I’m about to pursue any woman."

"He bought an expensive ring, an expensive bouquet of flowers and is going to propose here. Women love things like this. No matter how tough she is, I assure you she will melt once she sees his display."

"Get your cameras ready everyone. Once he starts proposing, go live. A proposal like this will garner a lot of views online."

Bryan ignored their conversation and walked straight to the receptionist.

"Hello, is it possible to inform Kelsie Sutton that there’s someone downstairs waiting for her?"

The receptionist glanced at him, a puzzled look crossing her face.

At the same time, a sudden wave of jealousy washed over her when she realized this was the second young man looking for Kelsie Sutton.

Just who was she that two handsome, rich men had come to look for her?

Despite being green with envy, she still forced on a smile as she retorted, "We’re calling her apartment now. Please be patient."

Bryan nodded and turned his back to her, but suddenly trembled from cold and frowned slightly.

It was hot outside which meant the air conditioner in here was enough to keep him comfortable.

So why was he so cold?

Sitting in the lobby, Jett who had recognized him to be the troublemaker from the contest last night, bore holes into the back of his head.

Upstairs, Kelsie was already so frustrated that she couldn’t find another flash drive and left her apartment to go for a walk. Hence, she missed the calls from the reception.

But the moment she came out of the elevator downstairs, Serbian got on his feet, but paused when he saw Bryan rush up to her and immediately get down on his knees.

His friends rushed after him and began turning on their cameras.

"Have you gone live? Hurry up and do so!"

"That is a good angle."

"Zoom in on her face, we need to see when she’s wowed!"

Meanwhile, Kelsie got irritated when she saw the sight and stepped to the side, but Bryan still blocked her path and began the seemingly romantic speech he had rehearsed beforehand.

"I’ve never wanted anyone the way I want you. You’re my first thought when I wake up in the morning and my last before I sleep."

"I’d do anything for you because no one else could ever compare. Kelsie Sutton, please marry me!"

He then reached into his pocket and took out the engagement ring.

When he opened it, the glittering diamond inside caught the attention of some women sitting in the lobby.

"Is that man proposing? How sweet!"

"That looks like a 3-carat diamond ring? What a lucky woman!"

"I know, right? Not many men would put their pride aside to go down on their knees to propose with such an expensive ring."

Kelsie, however, gazed at him coldly.

"Mr. Baker, what do you think you are doing?"

He flashed her a bright smile and replied in a slightly high voice.

"I was wrong to call off our engagement seven years ago. You made a mistake and it was wrong of me to hold it against you."

"I’m ready to put your past behind me and take you back. For a man of my status, you should know how much I love you to be willing to do something like this."

Serbian Howard’s heart sunk and his upright shoulders fell a little hearing him.

Of course.

The first woman who made his life flutter was about to be engaged to another man.

His luck had never been good.

Meanwhile, the man behind him was fuming for some reason.

Eric felt the temperature around them drop and couldn’t bring himself to breath any louder.

"Call security." Jett suddenly ordered without glancing at him.

"Yes, sir." Although confused by the out of place order, Eric turned to the side and did as told.

Jett waited impatiently for Kelsie to turn him down like the last time.

He had seen it last night. She held no likeness in her heart for this man, but he kept bothering her.

Such a tactless man.

Not only did he not know his place, but he was shameless enough to kept insisting for the woman who wasn’t interested in him to marry him.

Jett was getting ticked off for some reason and it was getting harder to control the look on his face.

Kelsie was taking long to decide if she would accept the ring or not which made those watching the proposal impatient and they began probing her.

"Hey, she’s not saying anything. Zoom in on her face. She must be so touched she can’t bring herself to say anything!"

"Give her the ring already. She’s obviously shy to take it."

"He must love her so much. Who knows what she did, but he’s actually being so committed. A man like him can actually walk away if he wanted."

"It’s rare to see a man so forgiving and patient these days. I want me a man like that."

Realizing he didn’t plan to back down, Kelsie’s eyes hardened and she said stoically, "Mr. Baker, why do you keep doing this? Our engagement in the past was as a result of our family’s decision."

"Breaking up with you was the best thing that ever happened to me. So stop trying to guilt-trip me into marrying you."

"Stop stalking and lurking around me too. The next time you appear in front of me like this, I’ll have a restraining order against you."

It became silent all of a sudden.

Everyone’s eyes darted between the two, wondering what they were missing.

They had just made assumptions from Bryan’s words, but there was actually more to it?

Their eyes lit up and they excitedly pinned their eyes on Kelsie waiting for her to say more.

But it soon fell in disappointment when she walked past Bryan without another word.

Being embarrassed in public for the second time in less than twenty-four hours, Bryan was determined not to let it slide this time.

He got up on his foot and snickered loudly, grabbing her firmly by the hand.

"Hey, just who do you think you are? Which man in Silicone Valley will want a loose woman like you who’s already saddled down with bastards?"

"I’m doing you a big favor offering to marry you. At least with me, your bastards will get to have..."

He abruptly stopped talking and screamed out in horror when Kelsie grabbed his hand on her and in one swift motion, threw him to the floor, dislocating his shoulder.
