Oops, Mommy Slept With A Tyrant
Chapter 178 The Thieving Little…

Chapter 178: Chapter 178 The Thieving Little...

The room instantly fell silent, the adults subconsciously shrinking back a little at the unmistakeable air of authority around Jett.

He fully stepped into the room, taking long strides towards the triplets, his eyes pinned on Keira the entire time.

Once he got to them, he lowered himself to their level, his cold eyes instantly growing tender as he scanned Zade and Jesse’s faces for any bruise.

Then he reached for Keira’s face, wiping off the tears streaming down her face and cooing softly, "Mommy couldn’t make it, so I’m here to pick you up."

Jesse and Zade nodded, stepping closer to him while Keira spread her arms to be lifted, and he picked her up without hesitation.

The teachers in the room were slightly taken aback when they saw this.

While the calm teacher thought of what to say, the teacher who had met Kelsie in the parking lot suddenly hissed.

"I’m Charlotte Hastings and this is my colleague, Casey Leopold. Who are you supposed to be?"

Jett looked down at her, his eyes icing over the moment he realized she was the same woman who stood over Keira a moment ago, hand raised to hit her.

Under his cold gaze, Charlotte broke out in cold sweat, the forced smile on her face disappearing as she stared back at him defiantly.

"I’m their guardian." Jett spat out after a few seconds, his eyes still pinned on her.

At this, Charlotte laughed, clapping her hands twice as she drawled sarcastically, "Hah! So that’s what this is. You must be their mother’s boyfriend."

"She feigned nonchalance the other day when I told her, but I see she was wise enough to listen to me and find them a father figure."

The couple frowned.

"What do you mean?"

As Charlotte parted her lips to retort, Casey Leopold knew she was about to say something upsetting and answered instead, "Their mother is a single mother."

Almost immediately, the couple’s face turned ugly and the man gritted his teeth furiously, "A single mother? What is the school doing letting someone like that send her kids here?"

"I don’t pay such hefty fees for my daughter to have her share the same room with a child like this!"

Casey was rendered speechless while Charlotte tsked.

Jett, however, suppressed his annoyance and lowered his eyes to Keira’s face again, gently turning her head around for a few seconds.

Several seconds later, he lifted his eyes to meet Charlotte’s, a cold smile tugging the corner of his lips, "You didn’t hit her. That is good."

"You will certainly lose your career and live the rest of your life being wretched if you’re accusing my daughter wrongly, but at least you’d get to keep your hands."

Knowing the wealthy couple were behind her, Charlotte wasn’t fazed and continued being arrogantly.

"Are you a madman? Your daughter stole another kid’s water bottle. How could you sputter such nonsense when I was merely trying to discipline her?"

"Da-daddy, I didn’t take it. I really didn’t take Ariana’s water bottle." Keira hiccuped hoarsely, fresh tears spilling out of her eyes again.

Jett’s heart ached greatly and he reached out again to wipe off her tears, smiling gently.

"I believe Keira."

The words had just rolled off his tongue when Ariana’s mother snapped, "What is this? Do you take us to be idiots?"

Jett quickly nodded, "Aren’t you?"

"You–!" She trembled in rage, leering at him with a mixture of frustration and disbelief, rendered completely speechless.

Seeing this, her husband pushed up his glasses and sneered, "I don’t care who you are, but your daughter or whoever she is to you, stole my daughter’s precious water bottle and instead of berating her, you tell her you believe her? What kind of poor parenting is that?"

"Clearly, he’s not her biological father. A biological father knows when to spare the rod and when not to!" Charlotte shamelessly whistled from the side, paying no heed to the goosebumps appearing on her arms as a result of Jett’s gaze.

She believed with all her heart someone affiliated with Kelsie was below this couple.

As long as she had them behind them, she didn’t care how hard he glared at her, she planned to continuously express her distaste even if that offended him.

Well, until the couple asked her not to. As for him? She didn’t care about a nobody like him!

As if hearing her thoughts, Jett soddenly chuckled, "You ganged up on my little girl, accusing her of stealing a water bottle."

"If you so easily believed my daughter did it without confirming the facts first, as her father, it’s only right that I believe her without doing the same too, don’t you think so?"

Ariana’s father grew increasingly irritated by Jett’s calm and dismissive attitude that he couldn’t help, but harrumph proudly, "Listen to me, young man. I’m a high-ranking government official and I’ve tried my best to give you the benefit of doubt."

"I’ve been patient enough with your little thief for a daughter, but I no longer will. If she doesn’t provide the bottle she stole, I won’t care anymore that they’re children, I’ll have all four of you arrested!"

Closing the distance between them, Jett bobbed his head in agreement, "Okay."

This stunned the man, the next second, he was boiling in rage, realizing Jett was looking down on him.

He was at least ten years older than Jett and had seen people his age look good in anything.

After hearing Charlotte say the triplets had a single mother, he immediately assumed the worst of them.

Of what importance would a mother of three be to the society? Someone like that would surely have a hard time finding a proper boyfriend. fre/ew.ebnovel.c om

If she did find, then this person was just as worthless as the dogs dying on the streets everyday.

In conclusion, they didn’t matter to him at all and Jett only looked this intimidating because he cleaned up nice.

Thinking like this, he took out his phone to call someone, rasping angrily, "You must think I’m a joke since I’ve held out from punishing your thieving little...mph!"

Instead of the rest of his sentence, a strangled gasp escaped him as Jett suddenly gripped him tightly by the collar. Then without a strain, drew him towards him and spoke into his face.

"I’m usually very impatient. But I have to set a good example to my kids first. You know, the kind where I have to be calm until you trigger me so much that I can’t help, but explode."

"But you keep calling my daughter something so foul my patience is running thin too quickly."

"I’m afraid the next time you call her that, I’d rip out your tongue before I know it. That’d be too much for the kids to handle, don’t you agree?"

Jett said such threatening words with such a soft smile the man realized he was standing before a psycho.

His wife also trembled behind him, quickly saying, "Honey, don’t waste anymore time with this punk, just call the police on them. Once they spend a few hours in prison, I’m sure they’ll remember where the bottle is."

At this, Casey Leopold stepped forward to calmly dispel the tense air.

"Ma’am, I don’t think it should come to that." Then without waiting for her to retort, she turned to Jett, "Sir, we don’t install surveillance cameras in the classroom for the children’s privacy, so we really can’t tell who took it."

Jett had long known Casey was the only reasonable person in the room.

So after holding onto Ariana’s father for a while, he released his grip and shoved him away before glancing outside the classroom.

"Have you checked the surveillance cameras outside the classrooms?"

Casey hummed, "We did, but there’s nothing there."

Watching Ariana’s father gasp for air, Charlotte bit down on her lower lip and took a step backward before snorting, "Ms. Leopold, we shouldn’t be talking of that."

"That bottle disappeared the moment Keira Sutton stepped foot into this class. Prior to that, nothing like stealing has ever occurred in this class."

"The children’s parents are all capable enough to get them whatever they want. The only one lacking is Keira Sutton. Which explains why she did what she did."

Jett really didn’t know what to say.

Indeed, anyone would be suspicious. If they already searched the classroom and didn’t see it, then it was only right that they felt Keira was the one with the bottle.

Keira’s classmate was also bawling her eyes out.

He knew kids were quite manipulative, but he grew up with all kinds of manipulative brats in the form of relatives, so he knew from a glance she wasn’t one of them.

She genuinely didn’t know where it was.

Anyone would agree Keira took the bottle. It was the only reasonable thing to think. If he blew this out of proportion without finding the bottle first, Keira would suffer greatly for it.

After a lengthy deliberation on what to do, Jett asked what the bottle looked like and Charlotte quickly described it.

Even going as far as looking it up on the internet.

So he took a picture of it and sent to Eric, calling him to order, "Find this water bottle. Buy enough to share to everyone in Keira’s class."

Almost immediately, a throaty laughter escaped the man’s lungs, then he found somewhere to sit, crossed his leg on the other and sneered mockingly.

"I wasn’t imagining it, you are really looking down on me! You think if it was that easy to come by, my daughter would be bawling her eyes out like this? If it was easy to come by, I wouldn’t be making such a fuss about it!"

"Don’t be so angry, sir. He’s just bluffing. Didn’t it take several months to come? Furthermore, it’s so expensive. How can he possibly get enough of those expensive bottles for the 36 children in this..."

Charlotte was mocking Jett with him, but trailed off when some men strolled into the classroom with gigantic boxes.
