"Wu Yunru, lend me your boots!" Feng Fan extended a hand toward him.

Wu Yunru looked at Feng Fan and frowned. "You’re not seriously thinking of jumping in that fight, are you? That thing is too strong for us. You’ll get yourself killed."

"I’m not the kind of guy who just stands around and watches. Besides, Shao Xiaowen and Luo Li aren’t enough to take it down," Feng Fan said, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

Wu Yunru sighed, knowing Feng Fan was right. "Fine. Just don’t die."

He pulled off his boots and handed them over. Feng Fan quickly put them on, channeling his spiritual energy to get a feel for them.

The moment his spiritual energy touched the boots, a cold, sinister aura surged through them, trying to corrupt him.

As Feng Fan lunged, Charles Cullen turned toward him. Torrents of blood surged from his body, rushing straight at him.

Luo Li reacted fast, forming a barrier around Feng Fan. The blood crashed against it but couldn’t break through. Then, just as the attack ended and the blood enveloped her barrier, she detonated the barrier, blasting the blood away.

That was the opening he needed.

His black flames vanished for an instant, plunging the room into total darkness.

Then, two chains shot from his hands.

They coiled toward Charles Cullen like living snakes. The ghost didn’t even try to dodge. The moment they wrapped around him, he tensed—ready to dissolve into blood and escape.

But Feng Fan was ready. Black flames ignited along the chains, preventing Charles Cullen from breaking free.

"AAAAAAH!"

The ghost let out a piercing scream, making everyone’s eardrums ring. Feng Fan, closest to him, felt warm blood trickle from his ears, but he gritted his teeth and stood firm.

As his presence faded, the hospital lights flickered back on.

The ghost zone had disappeared.

Luo Li nodded and turned toward the exit.

After she left, Director Mao leaned back in his chair. His hand instinctively moved toward his pocket, reaching for a cigarette, but he stopped, remembering he was underground and couldn’t smoke there.

A displeased expression flickered across his face.

He sighed. "Things are getting more chaotic these days... and now we even have a Hunter with two abilities at F-rank."

Taking his phone from his pocket, he dialed a number. The person on the other end picked up after a few seconds.

"President, I have some very interesting news. A man who awakened less than a week ago has two supernatural abilities. Have you ever encountered anything like this?"
