Chapter 353: Chapter 310: Civil War Among the Gods (Additional 2-in-1)
The Mortal World was collapsing.
Destruction was thorough and cruel; tens of thousands of city-states were engulfed in the flames of war, the Star Dome above was filled with vultures ready to feast and crows signaling death. People harbored anger towards each other, no longer concealing their desires of yore, wantonly squandering them into oblivion, sending the Mortal World from one collapse to another.
The Divine led by Dragon God Endora instigated various disputes; their calamities incited mankind to slaughter one another.
Finally, when a Divine intent on stopping Endora had his soul and stars shattered, Kagawus could no longer sit idly by. Taking up the mantle of Prophetic God, He called upon all Divines of the Celestial Kingdom to join forces in a campaign against Endora, the scourge of the Star Dome and Mortal World.
A war between Divines was about to erupt.
Looking down from on high, the throngs of mortals resembled dust on the earth, but from below, the stars in the night sky were as numerous as grains of sand.
The Divines had finally cast aside the semblance of order they once doggedly defended. Regardless of whether they were perceived as Good Gods or evil entities by mortals, all would be drawn into the civil strife of the Country of Divines.
Endora released Fire God Ninur, who was once imprisoned for violating the order of the Country of Divines and was meant to be under watch for ten thousand years. But now, order had crumbled with the closure of the Golden Hall, and what once would be considered a sin was no longer a sin, and punishment could no longer be viewed as such.
Kagawus’s prestige among the Gods amassed the largest faction. Divine such as Winter God Skadi and Flower God Aurora, who revered the old order, rallied to fight for Him, even the Fifth Rank Divine Mirror God Minor joined the cause of this Fourth Rank Divine.
The vast expanse of the stars and the earth, now tormented, became the battleground for the Divine. Some fought to protect their races, others for the resolution of old grievances, some for the destiny of the Country of Divines, and others for their compassion towards mortals... Whether the intentions of the Gods were good or ill, the war had erupted and was advancing towards an irrevocable Abyss.
The once-imprisoned Fire God Ninur brandished his endlessly burning Fire Whip, raging across the battlefield. Wherever He went, great fires blazed—forests were reduced to ash and lakes boiled dry. He poured out his fury from his imprisonment, seeing each enemy as Divine King Shan En, who had judged Him.
Ninur’s Fire Whip blazed, and in an instant, reduced several Third Rank Divines nearby to ashes. This Fourth Rank Divine, nearly ascending to the Fifth Rank, was unmatched on the battlefield.
Until... the chill winds of the Winter God swept across the land.
Skadi, wielding the Frost Divine Bow crafted by Hiris, shot a sparkling arrow through the gap as Ninur wielded his Fire Whip. The trajectory of the arrow rapidly caused the surrounding moisture to crystallize into ice, spreading a mist of ice and spanning hundreds of miles.
Even though Fire God Ninur was close to Fifth Rank, Winter God Skadi still stood to oppose Him.
At a flick of Ninur’s Fire Whip, already schooled by a past severe injury caught in an unwary moment, each strand of the whip burst, clashing with the approaching ice arrows.
After passing through six hundred and sixty strands of the whip, the Winter God’s ice arrow exploded midair, spreading a huge ice flower across the battlefield.
"Winter God Skadi, you are unworthy to be my enemy!" Ninur roared in anger, consumed by the fervor of war. He yearned to destroy the various orders established by Divine King Shan En and to burn alive Forest God Lipo, who once defied Him.
Winter God Skadi remained silent. Among the Fourth Rank Divines, aside from Water God Angel, only Skadi could match the Fire God’s prowess with her Divine Power.
Once this great war was sparked, it was destined for the fall of Divines.
Skadi did not know if she would be among the first of the Divines to fall.
Fire God Ninur looked at the silent Winter God and let out a proud laugh, once again brandishing the blazing Fire Whip in his hand, charging towards Winter God Skadi who was drawing her bow to shoot.
This grand battle between the Divines had officially begun.
This battlefield spanned the natural world and the Celestial Kingdom; its breadth unparalleled in the whole world. Divines slaughtered one another while the affected mortals had no recourse but wails of sorrow.
A Bow God unleashed countless arrows on the battlefield, each shot magnificent. Weaving through the gaps in the chaos, with keen insight, he captured the enemies’ flaws and in the blink of an eye, claimed the lives of more than a dozen Divines.
Amid the tumult in front of him, he spied the Plague God Sturad in the distance, whose overwhelming plagues ravaged the entire battlefield. Every Divine touched by the plague was weakened, a dreadful power that would soon allow Endora’s faction to triumph despite being outnumbered, eliminating their adversaries.
The Bow God then raised his longbow, aiming at the distant Plague God Sturad, attempting to eliminate the source of the plague, also Endora’s trusted aide, from thousands of miles away.
However, in the blink of an eye, the winds arrived, and without notice, both Wind God and God of Despair had appeared behind him. The despairing tendrils instantly infected the Bow God, his arms stiffened, and a great despair filled his heart, causing him to hesitate and lose the courage to shoot. Meanwhile, the Wind God lifted his mighty hammer high, the huge hammer catching the wind and brutally smashing the Bow God’s arms to dust, followed by several more blows. In the ensuing storm, the Bow God was reduced to nothing more than dust in the wind.
