Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Since You’ve Come to Find Me, You Have to Fight, Whether You Want to or Not!

Seeing the situation, Dragon didn’t say much. Instead, he looked at Will with a hint of curiosity, his tone carrying a trace of probing as he asked, "Madman Will, do you perhaps have some misunderstanding about our Revolutionary Army?"

After all, Smoker’s earlier words could easily lead someone to peg Will as a terrifying criminal.

Will, however, seemed somewhat surprised by the question. "Misunderstanding?" He tilted his head slightly. "The Revolutionary Army—you’re just an organization aiming to overthrow the World Government and those Celestial Dragons, right? What’s there to misunderstand?"

Hearing that Will genuinely didn’t seem to have any misconceptions, Dragon grew a bit more curious. "Then why did you show hostility toward me just now?" He was certain he hadn’t misread the situation—Will’s eyes had undeniably been filled with aggression.

"Hostility?" Will blinked, caught off guard for a moment. Then, the corners of his mouth curled into a slight grin. "Looks like you’re the one misunderstanding me, Dragon."

"Against a powerhouse like you, all I feel is an intense urge to fight!"

The moment the words left his mouth, Will’s figure vanished from where he stood.

"What?!"

Dragon hadn’t expected Will to launch an attack out of nowhere. His eyes widened in shock, his expression one of utter astonishment.

In the next instant, Will’s figure reappeared on Dragon’s right side. Without a moment’s hesitation, he swung his leg in a fierce horizontal sweep. At the same time, a layer of ink-like substance rapidly coated his entire leg.

Dragon reacted instantly, raising his arm to block the strike.

Boom!

A heavy collision rang out, and the immense force sent Dragon flying backward.

"This power...!"

Even as he was knocked back, tumbling through the air, Dragon’s surprise didn’t stop him from responding. He swiftly brought his fingers together, forming a distinctive three-clawed shape, and slammed them into the ground. Using the momentum to dispel the force, he flipped gracefully and landed steadily on his feet.

He quickly looked up, only to find the space in front of him empty. His heart jolted with alarm.

With no time to use Observation Haki to track his opponent, Dragon decisively stretched out both hands and spun in place. "Storm Barrier!"

A howling gust swirled around him, forming a spherical shield of powerful winds.

Almost simultaneously, Will appeared right in front of Dragon, his pitch-black fist rocketing forward with a mighty punch.

Bang!

The forceful blow struck the wind-composed barrier, but it didn’t break through. The spinning winds deflected the power of Will’s fist, holding it at bay.

"Oh?" A glint of surprise flashed in Will’s eyes. "Now that’s interesting!"

Undeterred, he didn’t halt his assault. Pulling back his fist, he immediately gathered strength again, shifting his hand into an open palm and thrusting it forward.

"Armament Hardening: Demon Spear!"

His blackened hand and arm, like a lance capable of piercing anything, stabbed directly into the wind barrier.

Rip!

With a strange tearing sound, the defensive wall of wind was instantly pierced by Will’s arm.

"Nani?!"

Dragon, still inside the barrier, was stunned. Just as Will’s arm was about to strike him, he swiftly waved his hand, using the lingering winds to vanish from the spot.

When he reappeared, Dragon stood atop a tilted slab of floor dozens of meters away from Will.

"What a terrifying guy," Dragon thought, his heart heavy with realization as he noticed Will’s gaze had tracked his every move.

Though Will had caught Dragon’s position with Observation Haki, he didn’t press the attack. Instead, he looked puzzled and asked, "Dragon, why aren’t you fighting back? As the leader of the Revolutionary Army, your strength should be top-tier. Are you afraid you can’t beat me?"

During their brief exchange, Dragon hadn’t shown any intent to counterattack, only passively defending. Will couldn’t quite wrap his head around it.

Dragon paused, taken aback by the question. After a few seconds of silence, he chose to speak plainly. "To be honest... I’m not really fond of fighting. Especially pointless battles like this, fought just for the sake of fighting."

His appearance often led to misunderstandings, particularly that smile of his. It had been that way for a long time.

Back when he was a Marine, many assumed he was a battle-hungry warrior. Even his father, Garp, thought so, frequently dragging him into all sorts of training. Dragon had always felt frustrated by this.

He’d tried explaining to others that he didn’t actually enjoy fighting. Back then, rather than chasing pirates out in the field, he’d have preferred staying at a desk, handling paperwork and records. But his natural, battle-ready demeanor meant no one took his words seriously.

Over time, Dragon grew quieter, speaking less and less.

To his surprise, Will didn’t question his response. Instead, he nodded immediately. "Is that so? Makes sense."

"Hm?" Dragon was caught off guard, blurting out, "You actually believe me?"

"Why wouldn’t I?" Will raised an eyebrow, puzzled. "If you feel something, you feel it. If you don’t, you don’t. Why would you need to make up an excuse? The fact that you said it means you genuinely don’t like fighting."

Dragon’s expression softened, touched by Will’s words. But before he could respond, Will’s grin widened, his tone leaving no room for refusal. "But since you’ve come to find me, you’re going to fight whether you want to or not! I want to battle you, so you don’t get a choice!"

"Wait!" Dragon’s eyes widened, a bead of sweat rolling down his forehead. He raised a hand, trying to stop him. "Madman Will, I only came to talk to you, nothing more!"

Will ignored him. Running a hand through his hair, his eyes gleamed with fighting spirit as he smirked. "You want to talk? Beat me first, then we’ll chat!"

With that, his figure flickered and vanished once more.

"What a battle-crazed guy..." Dragon sighed inwardly, feeling helpless. Left with no choice, he assumed a defensive stance.

In the next moment, Will appeared before him, throwing a punch straight ahead.

Dragon’s eyes sharpened, clearly anticipating the move. His fingers formed the claw shape again, and he met the attack head-on. "Dragon Claw!"

Both their hands, hardened with Armament Haki, collided with a thunderous crash.

Boom!

This time, fully prepared, Dragon wasn’t sent flying. Bracing his right leg against the ground, he withstood the immense force of Will’s punch, the ground beneath him cracking and collapsing from the pressure.

Realizing he’d need to defeat Will to have a proper conversation, Dragon abandoned his passive defense. He shifted to the offensive, launching his own attack.
