On Our Wedding Night, I Discovered the Crown Prince’s Hidden Illness -
Chapter 387 His Divine Doctor
Chapter 387: Chapter 387 His Divine Doctor
Leng Yu Yan didn’t expect the complexities hidden in someone’s heart, busily and cheerfully tidied the clothes, but her face turned red again when she folded his short underwear.
Luckily, he didn’t see it; she quietly exhaled and placed the clothes in a small bundle.
After eating at midday, Ye Yiheng voluntarily requested acupuncture for detoxification.
Leng Yu Yan took his pulse and, to her surprise, found that his pulse was much better than before, and the speed of recovery from this cold disease episode was astonishing.
It made sense, given that this person had survived so many fatal toxins in his body; it was clear his physique was extraordinary.
She shared this information with him, and upon hearing it, Ye Yiheng’s lips curved into a perfect smile, "Then let us draw out more poison blood this time."
Leng Yu Yan inserted the needles into his fingertips and, while taking his pulse, said, "If you feel any discomfort, be sure to tell me."
"Okay," he responded.
She wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but she always felt like his gaze fleetingly brushed over her face, and his voice seemed to contain a hint of laughter.
After the detoxification acupuncture, Leng Yu Yan said, "These days, your vision has been lasting longer."
Although she knew it was related to the medicinal materials she had given him before, she didn’t point it out.
Ye Yiheng simply said, "By a fortunate coincidence, I obtained some medicine, and after taking it, the condition of my eyes improved."
"For preventing a recurrence of your eye disease in the near future, I will perform acupuncture around your eyes. Its effectiveness will need to be observed over time."
He nodded in agreement.
So, she inserted needles into several of his acupoints, including the Tianying, Jingming, and Four White acupoints.
With numerous silver needles around his eyes, Ye Yiheng asked with his eyes closed, "Do you think my eye disease can be completely cured?"
She replied honestly, "The main cause of your eye condition is the pressure on the optic nerve caused by toxins inside your body and, additionally, some poison has entered the eyes. Therefore, there are many uncertainties, and the situation around the eyes is complex. It’s not something that can be explained briefly."
Upon hearing this, Ye Yiheng’s eyebrows twitched slightly. It seems this woman at Linqing Pavilion had even better medical skills. That person had never even seen his face and the medicine they provided had already improved his eyes substantially.
However, considering how much she was concerning herself for him, Ye Yiheng felt overwhelmed with emotion.
The Divine Doctor from Linqing Pavilion was someone he had sent people to find several times without success, yet she was by his side in reality!
Compared to the Divine Doctor whom he couldn’t find despite offering a huge reward, she was his Divine Doctor!
"Yanyan, if I become completely blind in the future, would you regret the trade?"
He asked this, and Leng Yu Yan suddenly remembered what he said in her dream, "You despise me for being blind," and quickly replied, "I won’t. I don’t despise you."
Although their relationship had become quite harmonious, deep down she was still afraid of him. It was an ingrained fear, seemingly not solely from dreams but also from the experiences of her body’s past life.
If she could cross over to this life, a feat beyond imagination, it was possible that her body’s past life existed as well.
If that was truly the case, what was their entanglement in their past lives?
Suddenly she had a severe headache. Leng Yu Yan pressed her temples and decided not to think about this problem. It made her feel a bit better.
Hearing the clear fear in her voice, Ye Yiheng was puzzled. Upon further thought, he assumed she also wouldn’t want to see him go completely blind.
So, he resolved to find the Divine Doctor and have his eyes cured once he had reclaimed the position of Crown Prince. Only then did he feel worthy of her.
When the acupuncture was finished and she had put away the silver needles, Leng Yu Yan looked at a pile of persimmons with worry.
Ye Yiheng pressed around his eyes, feeling them refreshed, and noticing her propped up on her elbows looking at the persimmons, he asked, "What’s wrong?"
"These persimmons won’t do well in a cloth bag or laid out in the carriage," Leng Yu Yan said, expressing her concerns tactfully.
After all, his driving was very bumpy, and much of the fruit would surely be damaged on the way.
Ye Yiheng said lightly, "That’s easy to handle. I’ll make a frame, and we can stack the persimmons in it. If any get damaged, we’ll just discard them."
An hour later, Leng Yu Yan admired the frame constructed with mortise and tenon joints and praised, "I didn’t expect you to have this craftsmanship."
Seeing the glittering enthusiasm in her eyes, Ye Yiheng smiled gently.
Such crude craftsmanship could actually win her high praise, which truly surprised him.
Leng Yu Yan said, "Make one for Yinhui too, and fill it with hay—that’ll be its den, okay?"
"No problem."
With the experience from the first one, the second frame was even more exquisite.
Leng Yu Yan laid hay inside the frame and then placed the little wolf cub inside, which unexpectedly looked good.
Both of them shifted their gaze from the wolf cub’s den to the persimmon frame; this frame was larger and still had plenty of space even after the persimmons were placed inside.
They glanced at each other and decided to pick some more persimmons.
After all, they had chosen to take backroads, where they might not have enough to eat along the way.
After picking persimmons, the two of them fed the horses, organized their luggage, loaded the items onto the carriage, and then cleaned up the cave. With these tasks completed, the snow had almost melted— it was time to set off.
Looking at the cozy cave, Leng Yu Yan stroked the little wolf cub in her arms and asked the man beside her, "Do you think we’ll come back here again?"
Ye Yiheng scanned the area, "Have you grown attached to it?"
"The environment here is great, and there’s hot springs too."
He laughed, "So, you want to soak in the hot springs with me?"
She glared playfully at him, "I’m not going to squabble with you."
"We’ll come back if you want to."
When he took over the realm, she could live wherever she wished.
It wasn’t long before Ye Yiheng had the horse carriage ready, and then a man, a woman, a wolf and the vehicle embarked on their journey.
Someone was driving in front, while Leng Yu Yan was tidying up inside the carriage.
She moved the persimmon frame to the left of the door, placed the wolf cub’s den on the right. The roast meat and rice cakes that hadn’t been eaten yet were put into a bag on the cushion by the window, and the two bundles were placed in the cupboard inside the carriage. Then, she folded the blankets neatly on top of the soft padding.
Seeing the carriage stuffed with things, provisions for both eating and covering herself, she felt unexpectedly content.
After tidying up inside, Leng Yu Yan steadied herself on the side of the carriage and sat next to the driver.
Ye Yiheng glanced at her, "It’s cold outside, why did you come out?"
"I wanted to keep you company."
Seeing her sweet smile, he couldn’t help but smile as well and asked, "What’s making you so happy?"
"I suddenly feel so rich—I have fruits to eat, meat to eat, a shoulder scarf to wear, blankets to cover myself, and most importantly, I have a handsome guy accompanying me."
"Handsome guy?"
He was taken aback by this novel term, not understanding its meaning.
Leng Yu Yan laughed out loud, "That means a man who is handsome and good-looking."
Ye Yiheng shook his head with a soft chuckle, hearing her say he looked good was indeed a rarity.
"I forgot to stick the beard on for you. This time you’re pretending to be my uncle. How about a goatee?"
"As you wish." He smiled, "However you want to tweak it is fine."
His smile was indulgent, an emotion he himself hadn’t even noticed.
Taking advantage of the daylight, Ye Yiheng stopped the carriage.
Leng Yu Yan took out her tools and, as usual, trimmed the ends of her own hair and pasted some on his upper lip and chin.
In order to not make him look too old, she trimmed the goatee she’d stuck on his chin.
With that, it was unlike the kind worn by older men.
