Chapter 2513: Argento Sewers I

Adrian sat down in one of the benches in the middle section of the kingdom. This part was more orderly and secure as guards could be seen at every corner of the street. He is currently located here as Charon has found a web of passages where humans could fit in. Sirius is currently looking for an entrance in the middle area as the canal openings in the slums were covered with all kinds of garbage.

As he was chilling in the bench, he noticed a peculiar group of individuals. They were merely a group of three people, but others were moving in sync with them. Two of the people in that group of three looked trained and toned as their physiques cannot be hidden with normal clothes. Adrian immediately knew that they must be guarding a high ranked official or a child of a noble.

The one they were protecting was a teenage kid that looked like he was either twelve or thirteen. He had this regal aura around him that normal clothes cannot mask. The only thing that makes him somewhat blend in is that he has this annoying kid energy around him. He also spoke roughly which is not encouraged in a household for royals.

"I should listen in then." Adrian stated as he focused his hearing by cloning Sirius’ incredible ears.

"I am telling all of you. It is the sewers that might be their hiding spot. The slum area is just the location where they vanished, but I have a hunch that they are using the sewers as their hiding place. It is the only place in the kingdom that we have not searched. The missing girls might be there or at least a trace of them should be left." The young boy stated which made Adrian interested in the conversation.

"Your high... I mean... Alucred. We cannot just charge in with a group of knights inside the sewers that have been contaminated with numerous bacteria and possibly poisonous substances. You also know that the knights are not in the best morale at the moment. Letting them charge inside a filth ridden area might make them quit entirely." The lady next to Alucred stated.

"Why do you even insist on going inside the sewers, your hi... Alucred?" The male knight asked.

"I do not know why but I have this feeling something terrifying is down there. It is the reason why the atmosphere in the capital is like this." Alucred stated which made Adrian smile.

"A gold soul NPC. It has been a long time since I saw someone with such promising future. I guess this kingdom would have entered its golden age if he becomes older. It also seems like he has vampire blood in his system as he smells a bit like a vampire. Maybe, he has the highest concentration of the vampire hunter blood which is why he could detect the threat that is below them. He basically verified that the Crazed Blood Queen Bathory or at least a group of vampires are below." Adrian thought as he finally knew that he needed to move.

[I have been abducted.]

A message from his sister suddenly arrived as he watched the prince of the kingdom return back to the castle. He thought that he was hallucinating because he knows that his sister cannot be easily abducted but her message was clear. A barrage of messages suddenly entered the group chat as Lycan became worried.

[Are you alright?]

[Did they take you when you were not looking?]

[Were they powerful?]

[Where is your location!? I will find you!]

[I have a nose stronger than a blood hound. I will find you! Wait for me!]

"Seriously, my sister would not chat like its normal if she was really taken by someone more powerful than them. He needs to chill or else my sister might find him annoying. Then again, she likes those types that act like golden retrievers as per her words." Adrian muttered as he entered the chat as well.

[Did the vampires target you, sister?]

[Yes. It seems that they like targeting beautiful women according to the reports. I merely presented myself in the slums and they easily took the bait. I can tell that we are descending which means there is a passage in slums that leads to the sewers. I could smell the foul stench even though I am being kept inside a bag.]

[I will follow your trail! Wait for me, my love!]

"It seems that I need to head down as well." Adrian stated as he walked to a location where no one could see him.

"It has been a while since I used this skill. Thankfully, Charon found an area where there is no activity and far from any form of vibration." Adrian stated as he slipped down slowly into the sewers.

The young prince Alucred has already reached the castle, but he was disappointed. He wanted to check sewers where he could feel the malevolent energy from. He could feel that the entire capital is filled with this malevolent energy, and he could feel it rising from the ground below.

"The only area in the capital where that malevolent energy cannot be felt is the castle. I must do something as revenge for my brothers and sisters that have died and been heavily injured." The young prince Alucred muttered as he bore witness to the tragedy.

One of his uncles released an ancient evil that was sealed in the castle depths. His uncle thought that he could control that ancient evil, but he was killed in the end. He clearly saw how that ancient evil beheaded his traitorous uncle and tried to drink his blood.

The ancient evil that he calls a vampire could not drink his uncle’s blood as it acted as poison to him but the others that were not direct descendants were not so lucky. A good portion of the castle helpers died back then to quench the thirst of the ancient evil.
