Obsessive Tycoon and His Swan Girl -
Chapter 515 - 473: Jealous for Me
Chapter 515: Chapter 473: Jealous for Me
Jiang Zhe’s skin developed a warm and comfortable tremble, and she looked over at him again.
Qin Jingchen’s eyes and brows carried a gentleness, "What’s wrong?"
"Just seeing how much taller you are than me," Jiang Zhe said.
She herself was considered quite tall among the girls, but in front of Qin Jingchen, she was still far from his height.
The difference in their statures was very apparent.
But when Qin Jingchen took hold of her fingers, the difference in their statures became even more apparent.
His one hand could completely encompass her entire palm.
Qin Jingchen estimated and then rested his chin on her head, "No matter how much taller, it’s the perfect height difference."
"I want to look around at random," said Jiang Zhe.
"I’ll accompany you."
The two of them strolled leisurely.
Because of the advanced technology of the Beicheng Continent, there were quite a few high-tech gadgets in the night market, but none of these aroused much interest in Jiang Zhe and Qin Jingchen.
It wasn’t until they came across a small stall selling snow fungus and colorful mushrooms that they stopped.
"When you were in Beijing, where did you buy your snow fungus and colorful mushrooms?" Jiang Zhe asked him.
"There are specialized people who procure them. They’re not readily available. Most of the time, they’re bought from the Beicheng Continent. Sometimes, you can also get them in Beijing. But it’s said that the ones in Beijing are contraband," Qin Jingchen replied.
The vendor cast a wary glance at Jiang Zhe and Qin Jingchen.
Qin Jingchen’s family naturally had their own procurement people, and he knew some of their coded language, so he recited a string of code words.
The other party relaxed their vigilance and asked, "We have the goods, how much do you want?"
"As long as the quality is top-notch, we’ll take some of everything," Qin Jingchen said.
The person opposite brought out some goods, and Jiang Zhe looked them over carefully, confirming the quality was quite acceptable, and she signaled to Qin Jingchen that they could be purchased.
After making their purchases and receiving the items, they returned to the car.
"What, is there a problem with these things?" Qin Jingchen asked.
Jiang Zhe held the items in her hands, turning them over to examine them closely, and said slowly, "I remember these, I saw them in my mother’s notes; she cultivated them. Because people on the Beicheng Continent need to maintain their natural spiritual power and physical strength, these external nutrients help. These items, my mother mentioned in her notes, she never gave to anyone else. The ones my grandfather and aunt did before must also have been taught by my mom. So, who told these people here on the Beicheng Continent to sell them now?"
"Yes, it’s very difficult to cultivate snow fungus and colorful mushrooms. Previously in Beijing, wealthy families who tried to cultivate them themselves also failed. Are you suggesting someone stole your mother’s hard work?"
Jiang Zhe replied, "It seems that for many years, someone has been cultivating and selling these items on the Beicheng Continent, but the actual situation is not clear. My mom left the Beicheng Continent a long time ago, which at least shows that indeed, someone has been secretly using her stuff. It definitely wouldn’t be my grandfather and aunt; the amount they cultivated before wasn’t much, and most of it was used on me."
Qin Jingchen also became pensive.
However, with too few clues, the two could not untangle their thoughts.
In the end, Jiang Zhe decided to go eat first and talk about it later.
The two chose a restaurant that seemed quiet to dine in.
The food on the Beicheng Continent was relatively light, but the flavors were still quite good.
Jiang Zhe propped up her chopsticks and ate slowly.
Seated on the second floor by the window, they occasionally glanced down to see the patrons coming and going in the restaurant.
Jiang Zhe saw Zhuo Jinman and Fang Jun get out of a car, and the restaurant staff seemed to give them significant attention, with many people going up to greet them.
"It looks like the restaurant we chose today isn’t too shabby," Jiang Zhe said. "Even people from the four major families come here to eat."
"It seems that what Elder Fang mentioned that day really did annoy Zhuo Jinman. This is the Fang Family’s way of inviting Zhuo Jinman to dinner," Qin Jingchen quickly grasped the situation as well.
Jiang Zhe’s chopsticks paused, and she said, "Qin Jingchen, about the Fang Family wanting to form a marriage alliance with you, if it wasn’t for what happened that day, wouldn’t you have told even me?"
"I did meet with Elder Fang, but my purpose for seein him wasn’t to discuss a marriage alliance," Qin Jingchen explained. "As you know, Fen Ye has always been in their hands."
Jiang Zhe said nonchalantly, "Oh, but you still met under the pretense of discussing a marriage alliance."
Qin Jingchen laughed, "Otherwise, should I have gone in the name of rescuing Fen Ye?"
Jiang Zhe picked up her water glass and slowly took a sip.
Qin Jingchen stood up, walked over to her, and leaned close to her ear, "So, do I have the pleasure of seeing you get jealous for me?"
When Jiang Zhe had brought up this topic before, she hadn’t given it much thought.
Reminded by Qin Jingchen like this, she indeed felt some strange thoughts stirring in her heart.
But she also felt she wasn’t quite at that level yet.
She continued to drink water, and Qin Jingchen’s hot lips were slightly scalding against the shell of her ear.
Her limbs were usually cool to the touch, and the point of her ears was no exception, cold to the extreme. That icy tip felt the pressing heat of his thin lips, and she slightly turned her body away.
With that turn, the man’s lips landed between her brows and eyes.
The sensation made her entire skin tremble.
"Stop it," Jiang Zhe’s grip on her chopsticks grew unstable, yet she tried to appear calm.
Qin Jingchen’s hands wrapped around her shoulders, his voice low, "I’m still counting on you to marry me sooner rather than later. Why would I do something inappropriate?"
His voice, rich and gentle, touched her skin like a slow current over flesh, deepening the trembling.
"But, I must say I’m quite happy. It’s rare for my girl to get jealous over me."
After he finished speaking, his nose nuzzled her face for a while before he let her go.
Jiang Zhe felt her fingers holding the chopsticks go a bit numb.
Qin Jingchen returned to his own seat, served Jiang Zhe some dishes, and saw that the tips of her ears were slightly red, as was her face where he had rubbed, her skin was so fair that even the slightest touch left a red mark.
Remembering this, he couldn’t help thinking about the red marks he had left on other parts of her body, how each touch could easily leave such traces.
Thoughts stirring in his mind, Qin Jingchen’s voice became a bit husky, "Eat this."
Jiang Zhe took the dish he served her, heard his suddenly hoarse voice, was about to ask what was wrong when she suddenly remembered something, and ungraciously kicked over, "What are you thinking!"
"The law doesn’t punish thought crimes. Can’t I even think about it?" Qin Jingchen smiled, his voice deep and pleasant.
"The law may not punish, but that doesn’t mean I won’t," Jiang Zhe served him some food, "Eat your meal!"
"As you command!" Qin Jingchen obediently bowed his head and ate.
After dinner, a phone call from Grandmother Jiang came.
Jiang Zhe answered.
The old lady’s voice was very kind, "Have you finished dining? Am I interrupting you by calling now?"
"No, is something the matter?"
"Nothing much, just calling to check in. I didn’t want to disturb you if it’s too late, do you need the butler to arrange for a driver to pick you up?"
