Obsessive Tycoon and His Swan Girl -
Chapter 468 - 431: The Kiss Before Parting
Chapter 468: Chapter 431: The Kiss Before Parting
"You’re pretty fluent with idioms." Jiang Zhe interrupted her, "I will go first."
Beifeng heaved a sigh of relief and nodded, "You go first."
Jiang Zhe looked deeply at him, "There is something I want to say to you alone."
She and Beifeng moved to a secluded spot.
There was only one camera angle that could see them.
The assistant director pricked up his ears, trying to listen to their conversation.
Jiang Zhe turned off the nearby microphone and said, "I can go back first, but you also need to come back safe and sound."
"I promise you, I will," Beifeng smiled, "and I will do it quickly."
Jiang Zhe thought so too; once she returned, if the other side dared to delay the helicopter’s arrival any longer, she was determined to storm into the broadcasting studio.
Others might not understand what was going on with this military training, but no one could fool her with their research.
Beifeng could tell what she was planning and cautioned her, "Take it easy when hitting people; be careful not to hurt your hand."
The assistant director turned the volume up to the maximum, but he still couldn’t hear their conversation.
The audience was also adjusting their volume.
Suddenly, Beifeng took off his jacket and casually set it aside.
The camera was blocked.
Now, not to mention the audio, even the visuals were gone.
Jiang Zhe had not yet reacted when the man’s pheromone-filled breath reached her lips.
He kissed her firmly, pulling her into his embrace, the movement of kissing her lips strong, yet measured.
The night in the jungle was unusually quiet, and in the dim environment, every sensation was keenly felt.
Jiang Zhe could feel his every heavy breath and hear the strong, powerful heartbeat in his chest.
She clasped her hands on his shoulders, responding to him, kissing each other playfully, eager to devour one another.
It was only when the roaring sound of the helicopter became piercingly loud in their ears that Jiang Zhe and Beifeng separated.
The ladder had already been let down, and the doctor was descending it.
Beifeng picked up his jacket and handed it to Jiang Zhe; Jiang Zhe turned the microphone back on.
"Just a minor injury, no problem," Jiang Zhe said.
"Good," Beifeng nodded.
The assistant director heaved a sigh of relief; it turned out Jiang Zhe was checking Beifeng’s injuries.
The medics carried Gu Jiaheng onto the helicopter.
Beifeng gave Jiang Zhe a light push.
Jiang Zhe walked towards the helicopter, made a neat move, and climbed up the ladder.
The assistant director didn’t know how else to prevent Jiang Zhe from leaving; with everyone watching, was he really going to leave without taking Jiang Zhe?
He racked his brains, but could not think of any way to stop her.
The chief director commented, "It’s time—it’s fate— for Jiang Zhe to come back now."
Jiang Zhe climbed onto the ladder, and just as she was about to climb up, suddenly, a series of rapid sounds echoed all around.
They were unmistakably gunshots.
The bullets were aiming at the helicopter.
The chief director stood up and said to the assistant director, "You can’t be serious? To prevent Jiang Zhe from coming back, you put down such a high stake?"
"Have the helicopter evade quickly!" the assistant director ordered, "Safety first!"
The chief director realized that this was not the assistant director’s doing.
It must be outlaws in the jungle, trying to protect a lone wolf, firing directly at the helicopter upon seeing it.
Jiang Zhe hadn’t entered the plane yet.
"Jiang Zhe, hurry up!" the pilot urged.
Beifeng looked worriedly at Jiang Zhe’s figure; hanging on the ladder, she was in great danger.
But if she could get inside in time, there shouldn’t be a problem.
Suddenly, Jiang Zhe leapt from the ladder, jumping toward the ground.
When she hit the ground, she rolled to dissipate the momentum and then stood up.
Beifeng rushed over and supported her arm, "Are you hurt?"
"No," Jiang Zhe shook her head.
Xiaobao stomped her foot, "You had such a good chance just now, why didn’t you leave! By the looks of it, the helicopters coming after won’t be able to get in either!"
Beifeng knew, it was precisely because she was worried that the following helicopters wouldn’t be able to come that Jiang Zhe chose not to leave.
He squeezed Jiang Zhe’s fingers hard.
Jiang Zhe’s eyes carried a smile, "It’s alright."
On the pilot’s side, unable to retract the ladder in time, they could only change direction and dodge the bullets.
The assistant director liked what he saw; it saved him the trouble of thinking about how to keep Jiang Zhe behind.
However, clearly, things had escalated too much, and he had no choice but to consult Assistant Xu.
Zhuo Jinman frowned when she heard that the desperadoes had reached such extremes, "Have the instructors take the military training students to hide first, prioritizing safety. Notify the soldiers pursuing the lone wolf and the Interpol, emphasizing the protection of a student named Fang Jun."
Fang Jun was the daughter of Elder Fang and also Zhuo Jinman’s prized student; her safety was of utmost importance.
"And Jiang Zhe?"
"Now that the helicopters can’t get in, everyone is on the same level; it’s also a good test of their ability to adapt to the situation."
Assistant Xu relayed these words to the assistant director.
At Jiang Zhe’s end, she had Fatty bind Skull and his men even tighter, stuffing a bundle of cloth torn from their own clothes into each of their mouths.
Xiaobao’s voice carried an underlying excitement, "What do we do now?"
"We have guns; we stick to the original plan," Jiang Zhe said nonchalantly.
Beifeng nodded, stepped forward, and extinguished the campfire.
Once the fire was out, it became dark before their eyes, obscuring their vision.
Beifeng said, "Since the police are already tracking the lone wolf’s whereabouts, no place in the dense forest is safe. It also means we need to be extra careful. First, we protect ourselves, second, we don’t interfere with the police’s apprehension efforts."
"Understood," Xiaobao immediately nodded.
Fatty muttered, "As if we could interfere even if we wanted to."
"It’s getting dark; let’s rest. We’ll take turns standing guard. I’ll go first," Beifeng said.
"I’ll take the second half of the night," Jiang Zhe said.
Xiaobao raised her hand: "Let me do it, I’ll take over!"
Seeing her insistence, Jiang Zhe didn’t object.
Among the supplies they had received earlier were tents, and Fatty and Xiaobao quickly set up two of them, one for the men and the other for the women.
Since Beifeng was on the first watch, Sam Gao could rest first, squeezing in with Fatty.
Xiaobao entered the tent and said to Jiang Zhe, "Idol, can I use your phone to set an alarm? I need it to take over the shift for my master."
Jiang Zhe set several for her, then said, "You go to sleep first. I’ll step out for a bit."
Xiaobao arranged her blanket.
Jiang Zhe went out, and Beifeng stood guard outside, leaning against a big tree, watching the skull-marked men and remaining vigilant of the surroundings.
The campfire had long been extinguished, and the night was extraordinarily chilly.
The skull-marked men, being tied together, had at least the advantage of keeping each other warm.
Beifeng had given his coat to Jiang Zhe earlier, and the cold wind blew over him.
Jiang Zhe shivered and tightened his clothes, while Beifeng, as if feeling nothing, remained unmoved.
Seeing Jiang Zhe come out, he whispered, "Why haven’t you rested yet?"
"Just taking a casual stroll," Jiang Zhe replied and then took off his coat, tossing it to him, "It’s too hot and stuffy in the tent. Keep my clothes for me."
Beifeng caught it, his eyes exceptionally bright in the dark night.
There was a hint of a smile in his voice, "Alright."
"Then, I’m going to rest," Jiang Zhe turned and went back into the tent.
Xiaobao, seeing her return, asked, "Where’s your coat?"
"Don’t know, probably left it outside. Let’s just sleep."
The tent was warm with blankets, so Xiaobao didn’t inquire further about the coat.
In the second half of the night, the alarm rang.
Xiaobao immediately sat up, "It’s my turn for duty!"
She ran out to find Beifeng leaning against the big tree, his gaze vigilant, wearing Jiang Zhe’s coat.
No, it shouldn’t be said to be Jiang Zhe’s coat; it had originally been Beifeng’s, only he had lent it to Jiang Zhe earlier.
"Master, I’m here to take over for you!" Xiaobao exclaimed as she came out of the warm tent, shivering with cold, "You go rest."
After saying that, she remembered that Fatty and Sam Gao were already asleep in the tent and there was certainly no room for Beifeng.
She hesitated and then said, "Why don’t you squeeze in with my idol?"
"That’s fine," Beifeng said.
Xiaobao stopped him, "Master, I trust you like a master, so you must live up to my trust and not do anything to my idol, okay?"
"Given your idol’s skills, what do you think I could do?" Beifeng asked.
"That’s true. Isn’t that coat Jiang Zhe’s? Can I borrow it to wear? I’m freezing," Xiaobao said, reaching out her hand.
Beifeng’s coat had already taken on the scent of Jiang Zhe, a proud and cold fragrance, reminiscent of lilies or pure lotuses.
Mixed with Beifeng’s own pheromones, it was hard to distinguish between the two.
Naturally, Beifeng wouldn’t let anyone else wear this coat.
He walked over to the skull-marked men.
The skull-marked man wasn’t sleeping deeply and woke up immediately.
Upon opening his eyes, he saw Beifeng’s dagger gleaming coldly.
He struggled, making muffled sounds, trying to speak, but his mouth was gagged, rendering him speechless.
Beifeng quickly removed the man’s jacket and tossed it to Xiaobao: "You can borrow this."
Xiaobao: "..."
Although the clothing smelled a bit off, the warmth it provided was good. A soldier must be flexible and resilient.
Beifeng arrived at the entrance of Jiang Zhe’s tent and whispered softly, "Jiang Zhe?"
Jiang Zhe, having been awakened by the alarm, was already alert, and realizing there was no space left in Fatty’s tent, she heard his voice.
"Come on in," she said.
Beifeng groped his way in, and as Jiang Zhe reached out to pull him, the small tent caused them to tumble together.
The magnetic force of attraction between them was such that once they were close, they couldn’t separate anymore.
Beifeng kissed her, pinning her down beneath him.
Because the listening devices were not turned off, they dared not make a sound even as they kissed.
The sound suppressed in their throats made their yearning deepen, and the kisses grew more intense and urgent.
This sense of forbidden restraint made the kissing even more enjoyable for them both, each desiring to possess the other more fiercely.
Fortunately, the outside campfire had been extinguished, and the dim light meant their silhouettes could not be seen.
After the kiss ended, Beifeng did not continue, realizing the place was not appropriate and not wanting to make her uncomfortable.
"Let’s rest for now," he whispered softly.
Jiang Zhe lay in his arms, her restlessness slowly giving way to calmness and peace, the feeling of security gradually bringing back sleepiness.
She nestled against Beifeng’s chest, and soon her breathing became even.
Beifeng, restraining his yearnings, slowly drifted off to sleep as well.
At daybreak, Jiang Zhe instinctively opened her eyes.
In front of her was Beifeng’s magnified face.
She was about to speak as she pursed her lips, but the man’s kiss engulfed her.
