Chapter 441: Chapter 421: Zhu Bajie Eats the Ginseng Fruit
Beifeng seemed to know what Jiang Zhe was about to do and handed her the dagger.
Jiang Zhe picked up the dagger, identified several spots on the tree, made marks with the dagger, and then said to Fatty, "Your turn, hit it with a rock."
Fatty might have had poor physical stamina, but he still had strength.
He picked up a rock and smashed it.
But he was skeptical, would this really work?
This kind of tree was extremely hard; ordinary rocks simply couldn’t make a dent.
"How long is it going to take to break a tree like this by smashing it?" Fatty hadn’t even finished speaking when the tree started to fall, wobbling and twisting down.
Jiang Zhe explained, "The general Hooke’s Law states that if you find a few force points on a hard object, you can break through even the hardest of substances by striking these points."
Fatty finally understood the practical application of being a top student in real life.
Xiaobao, while sipping coconut juice, inspected the tree trunk: "But calculating the force points according to Hooke’s Law is really hard... oh, my idol is originally a top student, so it’s no problem for me."
After checking, she asked Fatty, "How does it taste? Is it good?"
"I..." Fatty scratched his head, "...drank it all before I could even taste it."
"Hahahaha," Xiaobao laughed loudly, "That’s what that literary work of yours says about... what was it?"
Fatty self-deprecatingly said, "Pigsy eating the ginseng fruit."
Jiang Zhe tossed another one to him.
There were still many coconuts on the ground.
Beifeng directed Fatty, "String them together and take them with us."
"But how can there be coconuts here? It’s autumn in the north," asked Fatty while threading coconuts with vines.
Jiang Zhe said, "This is military training, not an actual military operation. They have to prepare something for the students. If they prepared for them, they wouldn’t possibly not prepare for us, right? After all, this is supposed to be fair and open training, isn’t it?"
The chief director, sitting in front of the screen, felt the implied criticism.
The deputy director, seeing the other groups either dizzy with thirst without finding any coconuts or finding them but being unable to get them down, shook his head slightly.
Coconuts might not be filling, but they contain high nutritional components and are excellent for rehydrating and maintaining energy.
With the coconuts on his back, Fatty felt lighter on his feet as he walked.
With dusk fast approaching, they faced another quandary.
The issue of food and lodging for the night.
Jiang Zhe glanced around and said to Beifeng, "I’ll go find something to eat."
"I’ll come with you."
"Then we’ll stay behind and build a shelter," said Xiaobao, "with that Hooke’s Law thing. Fatty, you help."
Jiang Zhe and Beifeng walked away, and she quietly asked, "Why are you here? Where are the others?"
"I’m the instructor, of course I have to be here."
Jiang Zhe said nothing more.
The two of them walked through the dense forest, and after a while, Jiang Zhe suddenly said, "Qin Jingchen?"
Her voice was so soft that only the two of them could hear it.
Qin Jingchen didn’t seem to hear her and just looked up at her questioningly.
Seeing that Qin Jingchen still refused to admit his identity, Jiang Zhe gave him a deep look and continued walking ahead.
The man touched the tip of his nose and followed.
Jiang Zhe didn’t want to deal with him and walked in another direction, but Beifeng followed her closely, not half a step behind.
Jiang Zhe, too lazy to bother anymore, said, "Did you see? Some wild rabbits just ran by. If you can catch them, go for it, otherwise, stop following me."
"I’m on it." Beifeng’s silhouette quickly disappeared into the dense forest.
Jiang Zhe looked in his direction, only to see traces of bushes shaking; there was no other movement.
Moments later, Beifeng approached from a distance, with a wild rabbit in each hand.
"How about that?" he asked.
Seeing that he had really caught some, Jiang Zhe had nothing more to say and returned to where they started.
On the way back, Fatty was drenched in sweat, trying to smash down a tree.
"It’s still not working, I can’t move it!" Fatty was exhausted.
"Strange, I’ll change the point, just wait a moment." Xiaobao took the dagger and after some calculations, she carved new marks on the trunk.
"Can it really work this time?" asked Fatty.
"Really, try again!"
Jiang Zhe glanced next to them where not a single tree had been felled, the ground was littered with various rocks, though.
Xiaobao immediately explained, "Idol, don’t rush us, I’ll soon finish ten trees and build a wooden shed here that can protect us from wind and rain."
Looking around, Jiang Zhe observed, "The moisture rises from the ground in the autumn, it’s not good to sleep directly on it. Over there are plenty of vines; Beifeng and Fatty, you use the vines to make hammocks in the trees."
"Oh, right." Fatty quickly followed Beifeng’s lead.
