Obsessive Tycoon and His Swan Girl -
Chapter 419 - 409: Under Your Control
Chapter 419: Chapter 409: Under Your Control
At the hospital.
Old Master Long had woken up.
Jiang Zhe went in to visit her.
"I heard everything you said outside," Old Master Long’s complexion had regained its ruddiness, "So there was such a mystery hidden within."
He remembered the times when Jiang Fanyue had come over to play music, how he occasionally felt discomfort but also a surge of invigoration, which was indeed irresistible.
It was a sign his body had given him long ago.
Jiang Zhe touched Old Master Long’s pulse and spoke softly, "Old Master Long, there are no serious issues with your health now, just focus on resting peacefully."
Long Feilie asked, "Miss Jiang, could you recommend a doctor for my grandfather?"
Old Master Long laughed heartily, "I was narrow-minded before, insisting on having Doctor Tang treat me. Now that I think about it, which doctor wouldn’t be able to treat these old and minor ailments of mine?"
Seeing him so open-minded, Long Feilie and Long Feiyan were naturally delighted.
"Then you rest well, Jiang Zhe and I will head back first," Qin Jingchen stood up to say goodbye.
After they came out, Long Feilie still asked, "Miss Jiang, there’s no need to worry about the doctor anymore. But about my grandfather’s emotional state, does it still need to be regulated? Could Miss Jiang give some guidance on... over at Beicheng Continent?"
Before Long Feilie could finish, Jiang Zhe took out her phone and said, "Add me on WeChat."
Long Feilie took out his phone, sensing Qin Jingchen’s disapproving gaze.
For his grandfather, he braced himself and added her.
Just after adding her, Jiang Zhe sent several audio clips.
"Just let Old Master Long listen to this," she said.
Long Feilie glanced over and, realizing it was piano audio, was overjoyed, "Thank you, Miss Jiang."
He looked at Qin Jingchen, "Thank you, Mr. Qin."
Qin Jingchen touched the tip of his nose and followed Jiang Zhe out.
As the two entered the elevator, Jiang Zhe asked, "What do you think I added him on WeChat for?"
"I didn’t assume anything," Qin Jingchen smiled.
Jiang Zhe fiddled with her phone, "So little confidence in yourself?"
"It’s a lack of confidence in you," he responded.
Qin Jingchen continued, as Jiang Zhe looked up at him, "There are too many people who could fall for you."
The elevator reached the underground parking garage, the doors opened, and a shadow flashed outside, a dark gun barrel aimed directly at Qin Jingchen and Jiang Zhe.
Gunshots rang out, and Jiang Zhe instinctively shielded Qin Jingchen.
Simultaneously, Qin Jingchen moved to protect her first.
They both kicked at the assailant almost at the same time.
The attacker missed, and the gun dropped to the ground.
After Qin Jingchen delivered another kick, the sounds of bones breaking echoed through the air.
Jiang Zhe turned to see Qin Jingchen’s arm oozing fresh blood, grazed by the bullet when he was protecting her.
Her face dark with anger, she punched the assailant’s face, breaking his nose.
Then, she punched him over and over again, treating him like a punching bag.
Qin Jingchen couldn’t hold her back.
He had no choice but to call Fen Ye.
By the time Fen Ye arrived with his men, the assailant was barely breathing under Jiang Zhe’s relentless punches.
"Sister-in-law, sister-in-law! If you keep hitting him, he’s going to die," Fen Ye attempted to intercede.
"He deserves to die if he does," she retorted.
"If he dies, we won’t be able to extract any clues," Fen Ye said.
"He’s one of Qin Kuo’s men," Jiang Zhe said.
She stopped her assault as she spoke.
"He’s one of Qin Kuo’s men," Qin Jingchen nodded in agreement with Jiang Zhe’s words.
Fen Ye looked closely and indeed noticed the gun bore Beicheng Continent’s insignia, and the serial number indicated it was indeed part of a batch of weapons Qin Kuo had purchased.
These two were really quite impressive to have spotted it with just a glance.
"Take him away, and give him a good questioning when we get back," Fen Ye said.
People were already dragging the man away as if he were a piece of ragged cloth.
It was only then that Fen Ye noticed Qin Jingchen’s arm, "Brother Chen, you’re hurt. Luckily we’re at the hospital. I’ll take you upstairs to see the doctor."
"No need, it’s just a superficial injury," Qin Jingchen replied indifferently, "You stay here and take care of the scene."
He looked at Jiang Zhe, "You can help me deal with this, right?"
"Yes," Jiang Zhe reverted to her usual cold demeanor as if the person who had just been passionately fighting wasn’t her.
Qin Jingchen took her hand and checked it, "Does it hurt?"
"It’s alright," Jiang Zhe wasn’t overly delicate; she was just more tired from the beating.
Her hair was somewhat disheveled, and her backpack had fallen off.
Qin Jingchen walked over to pick up her backpack and casually smoothed out her hair.
Jiang Zhe’s temper was also smoothed out.
Meanwhile, Qin Kuo, because the gunman carried a communication device, had heard everything that had happened.
The sounds of Jiang Zhe’s punches smashing into the man’s body, and the noise of breaking bones that were transmitted, excited Qin Kuo but also left him speechless.
To think of smashing someone up with one’s fists to this extent?
However, Qin Kuo hadn’t really believed that just one person could touch Jiang Zhe and Qin Jingchen, so he wasn’t that disappointed.
"The game, has only just begun," he said, looking out at the dark night outside the window, his voice faint.
...
Qin Hai drove Qin Jingchen and Jiang Zhe to the courtyard house.
Jiang Zhe brought over a medicine kit to treat Qin Jingchen’s wound.
Indeed, the wound wasn’t deep, the bullet had grazed the flesh of the arm, going off target.
Jiang Zhe bent her head to treat the wound, disinfecting and bandaging it, then took an anti-inflammatory pill and placed it by Qin Jingchen’s mouth.
Qin Jingchen took the pill amiably.
She then bent her head to tidy up the medicine kit.
"Leave it there, I’ll clean it up later," Qin Jingchen said.
"You better rest for now. Although the wound isn’t big, if it gets infected, it won’t be a laughing matter."
Qin Jingchen pulled her onto the sofa to sit.
Jiang Zhe didn’t dare move his arm and simply sat down.
"If we had both dodged separately just now, no one would have gotten hurt," Qin Jingchen said softly.
"So you’re saying I held you back?"
Qin Jingchen shook his head with an amused smile, "No, I mean, next time you should dodge by yourself. If you got hurt, it would pain me."
Jiang Zhe frowned, "Then why didn’t you dodge just now?"
She gave him a white look, "Would I feel better if you were hurt?"
Being scolded by her, Qin Jingchen laughed instead of getting angry, his laughter clear and melodious.
Caught by a look from Jiang Zhe’s fox-like beautiful eyes, filled with reproach and coquetry, Qin Jingchen felt something stir in his throat.
In the second Jiang Zhe attempted to get up, he pulled her into his embrace.
A fervent kiss landed on Jiang Zhe’s lips, marked with biting movements, like he wanted to devour her completely.
Gradually, the kiss was no longer one-sided, but mutual seeking between two people, indistinct who was asking for more.
Jiang Zhe’s fingers climbed up his chest, his arms.
Qin Jingchen’s voice was husky and magnetic, "You’re in control."
Jiang Zhe was momentarily dazed; he had noticed her dislike for being controlled, so he let her take control of everything.
Qin Jingchen let her control it all.
Gradually, he discovered that Jiang Zhe wasn’t as skilled and easygoing in these matters as she was in others.
She only wanted control, yet she lacked the ability to exercise it.
