Obsessive Tycoon and His Swan Girl
Chapter 330: Take Care of Your Own Child

Chapter 330: Chapter 330: Take Care of Your Own Child

Xia Xingzhi, upon hearing the name Jiang Zhe, thought he would be stunned for a while.

But in reality, his heart only trembled slightly, and then, as if setting something down, he became quite calm.

That feeling was unexpected, yet seemed entirely within expectations.

...

It was in the wee hours, around three in the morning, when Qin Feng’s belly began to act up.

She jerked awake in bed, drenched in sweat as if she had been pulled from a river.

"Tang Yu..." she first called out her husband’s name.

It took a moment for her to remember her husband was long gone.

"Sister."

In the darkness, a pair of cool hands grabbed her burning ones.

Qin Feng recognized Jiang Zhe’s voice.

Her cool voice and fingertips helped Qin Feng quickly stabilize.

"I’m here, it’s alright," Jiang Zhe said, her voice composed and calm, without a hint of tremor, offering great reassurance.

Qin Feng quietly closed her eyes, letting the pain overwhelm her.

The timing of Jiang Zhe’s return could be described as just right.

Although she was in Beijing, Qin Feng’s daily condition continuously updated on her phone.

In the hospital, the lights were bright.

All the equipment that had been prepared was turned on.

Qin Feng was taken straight to the operating room.

The doctors and nurses who regularly checked on her clasped hands with each other.

Qin Feng’s pregnancy had seemingly collected all the possible and impossible problems a pregnant woman could have, so no one dared to guarantee her safety.

The previous two major hemorrhages had left the doctors helpless regarding her condition.

Now, there was no other doctor by her side except for Jiang Zhe.

Many doctors had been summoned from all over the country, yet they never even saw Qin Feng.

And they were still in the hospital, having not seen the patient.

Fen Ye glanced at the time and muttered to himself, wondering if it was really okay to let Jiang Zhe go in.

He didn’t deny Jiang Zhe’s outstanding abilities; she certainly had something about her.

But just her, could she really do it?

Now wasn’t the time for questions, though, as Qin Jingchen stood to one side, his tall and straight figure half swallowed by the hospital’s harsh light.

The dim streetlight cast upon him, partially hiding his refined and noble profile, concealing his complete emotions.

The Old Madame Qin was accompanied by Tiao Chun in the medical room, receiving oxygen.

Qin He and Qin Hai paced nearby, unsure of what more they could do.

"When can we go in?" the doctors murmured softly.

"You guys rest first," said Qin He. "When it’s time for you, we’ll call."

The whole hospital was silent and still.

Gone was the usual commotion.

Jiang Zhe placed mushroom extract into Qin Feng’s mouth, which for the time being was the best supplement to maintain her strength and energy.

It was also likely to be the lifesaver at a critical moment.

In addition, there were other medicines, brought from Pei Yuan, that were methodically administered into Qin Feng’s body.

The intensity of Qin Feng’s pain diminished, and opening her eyes, she saw Jiang Zhe, revealing a faint smile.

"Jiang Zhe, if something really happens to me, please take care of the child," Qin Feng begged softly.

She was not the kind of woman willing to forsake herself for a man or a child.

But since the moment this little life took root inside her, many things had slowly changed.

Jiang Zhe looked down, her fox-like eyes indifferent and nonchalant: "Take care of your own child yourself."

When she spoke these words, she was very heartless.

Yet they made Qin Feng couldn’t help but chuckle softly, showing a relieved expression.

Time stretched interminably long.

Outside, the daylight had already broken, and the whole hospital began to buzz with noisy clamor.

Tiao Chun brought a bowl of bird’s nest for Old Madam Qin: "Old Madam, please have some breakfast."

"I’m not hungry, just leave it there."

"Old Madam, the young master will worry if he sees you like this. Besides, Miss and the soon-to-be-born young master or miss would also not wish to see you in this state."

Though reasonable, Old Madam Qin just couldn’t take it in at the moment.

Qin Jingchen came in and signaled her not to persuade any further.

After a glance at the nutritional contents in the IV drip Old Madam Qin was on, Tiao Chun stopped persuading.

"Hasn’t it happened yet?" Old Madam Qin asked.

"It might take a while longer," Qin Jingchen replied in an even tone.

Old Madam Qin sat up straight and spoke softly, "They went in so hastily, there were some things I didn’t get the chance to tell Jiang Zhe. If she comes out later and I haven’t seen her, you tell her."

"Please tell me," said Qin Jingchen, his voice steady but lacking its usual clarity.

"Fate is decided by heaven; as long as she has done her best, that is enough."

No sooner had Old Madam Qin spoken these words than she found her eyes growing moist.

She had always been close to Qin Feng and naturally couldn’t bear the thought of anything happening to her.

But she feared Jiang Zhe would shoulder a psychological burden if something happened to Qin Feng.

So these were the words she had long wanted to say.

Qin Jingchen gently patted the back of her hand, "I will pass on the message."

Old Madam Qin, a little tired, waved her hand and told Qin Jingchen to go rest on the side.

Qin Jingchen had just stood up when Qin He came running in from outside: "Old Master Qin, we’ve heard the baby’s cry from over there!"

"Help me over!" exclaimed Old Madam Qin with joy.

Qin Jingchen quickly strode out. Qin He and Tiao Chun helped Old Madam Qin to her feet.

The Tang Family folks were looking around, staring in the direction of the operating room.

The door to the operating room swung wide open, and nurses rolled Qin Feng out.

The robust cries of a child filtered through the air.

"Congratulations to everyone, it’s a little young master! Mother and child are safe!"

"Oh, my grandchild!" Madam Tang rushed over first and picked up the child.

Old Madam Qin shakily reached out to grasp Qin Feng’s hand.

Jiang Zhe emerged from behind, her complexion somewhat pale. She had already changed out of the surgical gown and back into her school uniform.

Only her starkly colorless face revealed the ordeal she had just undergone in surgery, which was anything but easy.

Qin Jingchen reached out to catch her, "Jiang Zhe!"

Jiang Zhe was so exhausted, already feeling lightheaded, and when he caught her, she immediately closed her eyes.

Performing surgery was draining as it was; the psychological burden of operating on someone close was doubly taxing.

Her fingers were so weak that she had no strength in them at all.

Dark currents surged within Qin Jingchen’s deep-set eyes. He swept her into his arms and headed straight for the parking lot.

Fen Ye quickly opened the car door with agile hands and started the vehicle. "I’ll take you guys."

The car headed directly for Lushan Courtyard.

Jiang Zhe’s fingers were icy cold, white as white jade, yet sweat was beading on her forehead.

Once at the Courtyard, Qin Jingchen carefully laid her on the bed. The room’s constant temperature was just right. He drew out a wet wipe and dabbed away the sweat.

Fen Ye exited the room and turned back towards the hospital.

Qin Jingchen’s brow furrowed deeply, his astonishingly handsome face showing a look of tender pity.

He found a box of Cai’er candies, opened it, and placed two pieces into Jiang Zhe’s mouth.
