Chapter 308: Chapter 308: Turning the Tables (1)

Zhang Xi took her own bottle, and noticing that Xia Enci’s and He Ling’s had yet to be delivered, she took advantage of the moment when no one was looking to slip the medication in.

It was some sort of anti-depressant, capable of effectively lifting a patient’s spirits.

However, a person with normal emotions who took it would experience significant emotional turmoil and unease, becoming easily angered and irritable.

If two people who were already not particularly reserved emotionally were to take it, and then argue a bit, the likelihood of a fight breaking out was high.

And He Ling and Xia Enci were exactly such emotionally unstable individuals.

Once they started fighting... Zhang Xi could take the opportunity to get Xia Enci’s phone and delete the video inside it.

Those who fought at summer camp would at the very least face serious disciplinary action, or at worst, be directly expelled from camp.

Especially if it was a fight between a male and a female, if it stirred up any scandal...

The chances of them staying would be slim.

Zhang Xi had thought everything through.

At worst, she would be able to delete the video.

These two were truly adept at causing trouble; Zhang Xi really couldn’t wait to get rid of them.

"I’ve taken mine," Zhang Xi said, shaking the juice in her hand.

"Okay," the duty student took the remaining two bottles of juice over to Xia Enci’s side, "Here’s your juice."

"Thanks!" Xia Enci took it, "I’ll bring some over when it’s my turn for duty too!"

He Ling, sitting in the tent, snorted. "Come here, look at this problem. Is my solution correct?"

Xia Enci set down her juice on the ground and said, "It’s not! Why would I lie to you? Xiaozhe told me specifically last time that this is how it’s done! Look!"

"Then call her and ask," He Ling said stubbornly.

Xia Enci immediately called Jiang Zhe.

Jiang Zhe had just gone to the classroom for evening self-study. Seeing the video call, she answered it.

Inside the call, the two of them began arguing back and forth.

Jiang Zhe took off her headset.

Xia Enci noticed this and nudged He Ling’s arm.

The two quieted down, and Jiang Zhe put her headset back on. "What’s up?"

"It’s about this problem..." Xia Enci repeated the problem.

Jiang Zhe glanced over their solutions and said, "Both methods are correct."

"Then why are the results different?" Xia Enci was surprised.

"You made a mistake in one of the steps."

Xia Enci checked and found that, indeed, there was an error.

He Ling said smugly, "Told you so."

Xia Enci had no choice but to bow her head and start correcting.

He Ling picked up the juice, about to drink, when Jiang Zhe said, "Wait, who gave out the juice?"

"They distribute it every day. We get it every night. The school is afraid we’re not getting enough nutrition. Why, is there a problem?"

Jiang Zhe’s eyes narrowed slightly, seeing the white sediment at the bottom of the transparent bottle.

She switched to typing: "Don’t drink it. Communicate by typing."

He Ling immediately picked up the juice and examined it closely.

Xia Enci had finished correcting the problem and leaned over to type, "What’s going on, exactly?"

"There’s medication inside, but I don’t know what it is. To be safe, don’t drink it," Jiang Zhe quickly typed out a line.

"Who could it be? It’s really strange." He Ling hadn’t been at this school for long, didn’t know many people, and hadn’t offended anyone.

Jiang Zhe thought for a moment and sent over a line of text.

...

Night fell.

The summer camp was much quieter than the city.

The tents were lit up, but most people were still solving problems, occasionally playing with their phones when tired.

Everyone cherished this opportunity.

Zhang Xi dragged her somewhat sore legs, fumbling around Xia Enci’s tent, waiting for a chance.

Seeing that the lights inside had been turned off early, Zhang Xi was somewhat surprised.

With these two being so close, could there indeed be something fishy going on between them?

Had she known this, she could’ve done without the drugs. If they were really that bold, it would have been better to catch them in the act.

As she was thinking, a loud noise came from inside; she didn’t know if they were actually fighting or what.

Zhang Xi thought about the video on Xia Enci’s phone, and boldly pushed open their tent door, sneaking inside.

As soon as she sneaked in, a fist smashed into her face.

Before she could speak, a series of punches rained down on her face and body.

The two inside were famous for their strength, kings of sports, each of their punches comparable to several from others, quickly leaving Zhang Xi dazed.

All she could do was cry out in pain, unable to react otherwise.

"Kill you! Kill you, you thief! He Ling, hit her!"

Xia Enci’s voice carried out.

The noise was significant, and the teachers and students who hadn’t yet slept ran over.

The lights in Xia Enci’s tent also came on.

Director Han ran over, "What’s happening? What’s going on?"

The students shook their heads in unison, all looking clueless.

Xia Enci ran out, still shaken, and said, "Just today, Wei Qing told me that this place isn’t as safe as the city, and to report if we saw any suspicious people. He Ling and I were solving problems just now when we saw someone sneaking around. We had just turned off the lights when someone rushed in. Luckily, He Ling and I have strong reflexes and managed to injure this person."

"Are you guys okay?" Director Han was concerned about the safety of the students.

"We’re fine. But Director Han, we just hit someone..." Xia Enci said, somewhat afraid.

"Hmph, daring to offend the students, that was self-defense! Don’t be afraid!"

The other students chimed in, "Exactly, who let him come here? Outsiders aren’t even allowed in this area!"

"Quick, arrest that person, we don’t know who it is yet."

"I need two tall boys to come inside with me," Director Han said.

Immediately, some boys volunteered to follow him.

When they brought the person out and took a look, someone recognized Zhang Xi: "Isn’t this Zhang Xi?"

"Ah? It’s Zhang Xi?"

Xia Enci was also shocked, "Is it Zhang Xi? Did I hit the wrong person then? But I really didn’t make it up, she came to my tent herself, I asked and nobody answered, she never spoke!"

Tian Wangcheng was furious, "Xia Enci, I think you did it on purpose!"

"I really didn’t! I truly didn’t! If I did it on purpose, why would I hit her in my own tent!"

"You’re just jealous of Zhang Xi’s grades!" Tian Wangcheng blurted out.

He Ling spoke up, "Teacher Tian, that’s a bit unfair. Xia Enci is ranked second in the summer camp right now; other than being jealous of me, who else could she possibly be jealous of?"

Tian Wangcheng was left speechless.

"Teacher Li, quickly check Zhang Xi!" Director Han didn’t pay attention to their argument, only concerned with the safety of the students.

Teacher Li immediately came over to examine Zhang Xi and found she was not lightly injured, but fortunately, none were life-threatening.

"Let’s go to the hospital," Teacher Li said.

"First to the hospital, we’ll investigate the rest slowly," Director Han said.
