Chapter 283: Chapter 283: Slap in the Face (6)

Jiang Fanyue’s matter can be dealt with slowly.

After he spoke, he turned and left with an insouciant air.

Jiang Zhe’s mood felt as though he had stepped in dog shit.

Gu Jiaheng went back and encountered Han Jiayan at the entrance of the private room.

Han Jiayan asked, "How did it go?"

"She’s a bit angry. Give her some time to think," said Gu Jiaheng.

Anger is normal, Han Jiayan didn’t deny it, considering the Gu Family had done quite a few things in the past that made Jiang Zhe uncomfortable.

It’s good to let her accept it slowly.

In the private room, Jiang Fanyue, Jiang Zhang, and Liang Jinlan were eating together, their expressions somewhat gloomy.

Especially for Jiang Fanyue, who had actively pushed Gu Jiaheng out to Jiang Zhe, the distress in her heart was imaginable.

But besides this, she couldn’t think of a better solution.

Even Gu Jiaheng had no way to contact or communicate with the people from the organizing side, let alone her.

To solve the problem, they had to start with Jiang Zhe.

What compounded Jiang Fanyue’s frustration was that Gu Jiaheng had agreed to the request. While his face seemed a bit troubled, the surprise at the bottom of his eyes couldn’t be concealed.

As if he had been waiting for this moment, as though he had waited a very, very long time.

Every time she thought of Gu Jiaheng’s expression, Jiang Fanyue was greatly hurt, her fists clenched tightly, her fingernails digging into the palms of her hands.

The moment Gu Jiaheng returned, Jiang Fanyue abruptly stood up, "Brother Heng, how did it go?"

"Jiang Zhe still needs some time to think it over," Gu Jiaheng was brimming with confidence.

Jiang Zhe hadn’t said much just now; he knew at a glance what she was thinking.

Hearing this news, Jiang Zhang and Liang Jinlan both thought it was about Jiang Zhe helping to persuade the organizers. They hadn’t expected Jiang Fanyue and Gu Jiaheng to come up with such an idea.

The couple breathed a sigh of relief, at least now there was hope; it was no longer the completely hopeless waiting they had faced before.

Jiang Fanyue couldn’t tell if she felt happy or sad; for her career, she had given up on love.

Looking up at Gu Jiaheng, he was caught up in a maybe unwitting excitement, triumphantly joyful.

A sense of unwillingness once again burned intensely in Jiang Fanyue’s heart.

Han Jiayan said calmly, "No matter what, this time it was Fanyue who first went astray, leading to this situation. No matter how Jiang Zhe handles the matter afterward, we should all take this as a warning for the future."

"Yes, indeed we should take it as a warning," Liang Jinlan immediately agreed.

"If Jiang Zhe and Jiaheng end up together, Fanyue shouldn’t be too sad or disappointed." Han Jiayan still liked this gentle and sensible prospective daughter-in-law, but Jiang Zhe also had her strong points.

Her feelings on the matter had already shifted.

Upon hearing this, Liang Jinlan was displeased, "Jiang Zhe and Jiaheng together? How could that be?"

Jiang Zhang, on the other hand, suddenly realized that this was the condition Jiang Zhe asked for to help Jiang Fanyue.

He sighed, having not expected that Jiang Zhe’s affection for Gu Jiaheng was indeed so deep, while Gu Jiaheng was actually willing to give up his own love and happiness for Jiang Fanyue.

Jiang Fanyue immediately sought to reassure Liang Jinlan, "Mom, my heart is completely focused on my career now, I’m not in the mood to deal with matters of the heart. If Jiang Zhe likes Brother Heng and they’re willing to be together, I’ll wish them happiness."

Han Jiayan sipped her tea quietly, "We can’t control the affections of the young."

Seeing Han Jiayan adopt this attitude, and with Liang Jinlan already overwhelmed by matters of the company, she too could only let this issue go for the time being.

Jiang Fanyue subconsciously wanted to get close to Gu Jiaheng, seeking his comfort, only to remember that it was she who had initiated the matter, and now there was no room left for salvage.

...

Jiang Zhe returned to the private room, having already forgotten about the matter with Gu Jiaheng.

Seeing her come back, Qin Jingchen’s expression was no longer as ugly as before, and he asked in a low voice, "Are you all right?"

"Mm," Jiang Zhe replied with a nod, "When is Lawyer Luo available?"

"If you’re looking for him, he’s available anytime," Qin Jingchen responded.

"Help me get in touch with him," Jiang Zhe said, seeming somewhat tired.

Qin Jingchen handed over Jiang Yunxuan’s phone watch, "It’s been fixed, take a look."

Jiang Zhe lowered her eyes to receive it; the part had been completely fixed.

She turned on her phone again, connected to the phone watch, and opened the backend system.

In the backend system, within the gallery, there were suddenly two photos. In the first one, Jiang Yunxuan had just reached the top of the stairs with Jiang Fanyue’s figure appearing behind him.

In the second photo, Jiang Fanyue reached out her guilty hand towards Jiang Yunxuan.

The photos were not clear, but what had happened was plainly visible.

Jiang Zhe’s eyes reddened instantly, remembering Gu Jiaheng saying that they were gathering here for dinner this evening.

Did that mean Jiang Yunxuan was also here?

Jiang Zhe picked up her phone and the watch, and strode out, her school uniform creating a gust of wind that left people feeling startled.

"Xiaozhe?" Xiao Meng and Xia Enci stood up wanting to follow her out.

"No need, I’ll be fine on my own," Qin Jingchen had already guessed what was going on.

First the matter of Jiang Yunxuan’s phone watch, then asking him to contact Lawyer Luo; with only a slight turn of thought in his mind, he knew where Jiang Zhe’s emotions were coming from.

Fen Ye and Qin He also followed him out.

Jiang Zhe walked up to the private room Gu Jiaheng had mentioned and kicked the door open.

The people inside the room were dining, and when they saw Jiang Zhe enter with an aura of menace, Jiang Zhang and Liang Jinlan were both displeased. They were used to being treated as parents and felt angry with Jiang Zhe’s complete lack of respect.

However, Gu Jiaheng was pleased; had Jiang Zhe made her decision so quickly?

He had thought he would have to wait another two days.

Jiang Fanyue found her own feelings indescribable, unsure whether to be happy that her issue might be resolved or sad that Jiang Zhe had agreed to Gu Jiaheng’s request.

"Jiang Zhe, have a seat," Jiang Fanyue finally said, swallowing her pride and graciously inviting Jiang Zhe to sit.

Jiang Zhe glanced around the room, didn’t see Jiang Yunxuan, and asked, "Where’s Yunxuan?"

"Yunxuan hasn’t been feeling well; he didn’t come here and is resting at home," Jiang Fanyue explained softly.

Speaking of which, Jiang Yunxuan used to enjoy lively events and always liked to come out.

But now, it seemed he was becoming less and less willing to attend such occasions, growing more reclusive.

Not seeing Jiang Yunxuan there, Jiang Zhe forcefully suppressed her anger and quickly regained her composure. She turned to leave.

"Jiang Zhe!" Gu Jiaheng called out to her.

Since Jiang Zhe had come, he didn’t believe she had no feelings for him; of course, he couldn’t just let her walk away like that.

He walked quickly in front of her, blocking her way, his voice gentle, "Since you’re here, why not sit down and eat with us?"

His tone made Jiang Fanyue’s heart tighten.

Jiang Zhe raised an eyebrow, "Move aside!"

Gu Jiaheng didn’t move; at this point, he wouldn’t let Jiang Zhe leave.

Seeing he wouldn’t budge, Jiang Zhe grabbed Gu Jiaheng’s wrist, causing him such pain that his face whitened, and he was completely without the strength to retaliate.
