Chapter 202: Chapter 202: Jiang Zhe is an Attached Small Gift Chapter 202: Chapter 202: Jiang Zhe is an Attached Small Gift The host continued, “After unanimous agreement among all judges and guests, we will present Jiang Zhe with a special award, which is also the highest award of today’s competition.”

Thunderous applause erupted from the audience, one wave after another.

Clearly, Jiang Zhe’s award was well-deserved.

Meng Yirou’s fingers tightened around her own trophy, feeling its luster somewhat diminished in the presence of Jiang Zhe’s special award.

The CEO of the New Energy Company who had previously shown interest in her was now fixated on Jiang Zhe, his gaze lingering there without shifting.

Meng Yirou, holding her trophy, stood up and left.

After Jiang Zhe stepped down from the stage, many people quickly surrounded her.

She showed a bit of impatience in her eyes and, finding Lou Qiaoyin, said a word to Wan Si before walking out.

Wan Si hadn’t managed to invite her to the company and, though regretful, understood that she was accustomed to this, so he didn’t insist.

“Miss Jiang!” Qin He rushed over, fending off the people who had gathered and escorted Jiang Zhe out of the crowd and to her car.

Once in the car, Jiang Zhe tossed the trophy aside.

“Miss Jiang, congratulations! I heard you received the most prestigious trophy.”

Jiang Zhe hummed in response, not taking it much to heart.

After the commotion, she felt somewhat tired.

Seeing her like this, Qin He didn’t continue speaking.

Back at the hotel, Jiang Zhe inquired about Jiang Yunxuan’s condition.

Hearing that Jiang Yunxuan had already returned home, she felt it was almost time for her to go back as well.

Although the surgery was successful, ongoing monitoring and care were necessary, and he couldn’t be without a doctor.

“Mr. Luo, I need to book a ticket back now. There’s something going on with my family.”

Lou Qiaoyin looked slightly troubled upon hearing this, but she knew that most of Jiang Zhe’s reason for coming was due to Jiang Yunxuan.

And Jiang Zhe had heard Lou Qiaoyin mention that she had some old classmates to meet, having arranged the time already.

Before Lou Qiaoyin could speak, she said, “I’ve booked tickets with friends, and we are heading back together, so you don’t need to accompany me.”

Lou Qiaoyin had intended to give up her plans and go back with her, but hearing Jiang Zhe’s words, she replied, “That’s fine then. Take care on your way.”

After bidding farewell to Lou Qiaoyin, Jiang Zhe went back to pack her things.

Her phone rang, and she took it out to see a call from Qin Jingchen.

“Speak.” Jiang Zhe’s tone was casual.

“Congratulations.” Qin Jingchen’s clear voice came through, “What would you like to eat tonight?”

“Hmm, Yunxuan has gone back, and I should be heading back too.” Jiang Zhe was packing her suitcase.

“Alright, then I’ll have them get ready. I’ll come by to pick you up in a bit.”

Jiang Zhe glanced at the time, the nearest flight was in one hour, so she said, “Let’s meet directly at the airport.”

After hanging up the phone, she sent a message to Yang Feiliu, knowing she was off somewhere drinking, telling her not to bother sending her off.

Qin He was waiting at the door of the room and, seeing her come out, took the luggage and accompanied her to the car.

“Heading to the airport now, Miss Jiang?” Qin He asked.

“Yeah.”

“Alright then. I thought you and Mr. Qin planned to stay here a couple more days. Mr. Qin had actually arranged quite a few places, thinking to dine and tour around with you.”

Qin He was talkative, once he started speaking, he was like a river overflowing its banks, “But Mr. Qin can adjust the plan at any time, everything is based on your convenience, don’t worry about it.”

Jiang Zhe heard these words but didn’t respond. Her finger touched her own wrist and she felt a slight chill. Only then did she realize that she hadn’t taken off the watch she was wearing on her wrist.

Aboard Qin Jingchen’s car.

Fen Ye asked, “If we’re not going to pick up sister-in-law, shall we head straight to the airport?”

“Straight to the airport.”

“Sister-in-law must be really worried about Jiang Yunxuan, busy thinking about going back to visit. That Jiang Zhang really is something, insisting on not allowing sister-in-law to visit. I’ll arrange something later, give sister-in-law some private space,” Fen Ye contemplated the arrangement.

The capital scenery was beautiful, but Qin Hai’s car was not driving slowly at all, racing fast, with other vehicles and pedestrians flashing by outside the windows.

As the car headed towards the airport, Qin Jingchen keenly sensed an unusual aura.

Since it was a routine trip, Qin Jingchen didn’t bring many bodyguards.

Realizing something was amiss, he immediately made a decision.

“Fen Ye!” Qin Jingchen was about to tell him to turn the car around when a loud explosion rang out in his ears.

The blast wave from the explosion was earth-shattering, pushing Qin Jingchen’s car toward the edge of the green belt.

In Jiang Zhe’s case, her car had also been stopped, a line of people in black approached them.

Qin He tried to make a call to contact Qin Jingchen and Fen Ye, but the phone had lost its signal and could not connect at all.

“Miss Jiang, don’t worry, I’ll handle this,” Qin He said in a low voice, realizing that the approaching people meant ill, “In a moment, I’ll hold them off. You sneak off the car and find a safe place to hide first…”

With the situation as it was, their first priority was to protect Jiang Zhe.

Qin He hadn’t finished speaking when the group approached and someone smashed the car window with a punch.

Qin He grabbed the person’s hand, jerked it fiercely, and a scream followed.

He kicked open the car door, knocked that person down, and then was surrounded by the people in black, caught in a chaotic fight with them.

Jiang Zhe’s eyebrows knitted slightly. Were these people here to trouble her, or were they after Qin Jingchen?

The latter seemed more likely, after all, the car belonged to Qin Jingchen, and so did the driver.

But she didn’t rule out the possibility that this was happening because of her.

She pulled out her cell phone and saw that even her phone’s signal had been blocked; the other party had come prepared, and their measures were indeed thorough.

Glancing around, she saw no vehicles or pedestrians staying around—clearly, someone had meticulously arranged this to deny them any chance of calling the police or for help.

However, this wasn’t really a problem for Jiang Zhe. In a few moments, she connected to the satellite network and was about to send out a message when someone smashed the car door open, and shards of glass fell all over her. She put her hand up to guard her face and felt a light sting on her wrist.

Looking at her phone again, the screen was now shattered, a spark flashed, indicating a brief short-circuit.

This tested Jiang Zhe’s patience. She glanced sideways, a fierce light burning in her eyes. However, the people outside didn’t realize who they had provoked.

A large hand reached out towards her.

Jiang Zhe dodged and swept her cold gaze over the scene to find that Qin He was heavily surrounded, struggling against the numerous attackers, already injured.

A streak of ruthlessness swept across her eyes and brows, and Jiang Zhe stepped out of the car.

The man in black, seeing the delicate girl in a school uniform, didn’t take her seriously at all, reached out to grab her collar, intending to pick her up as if she were a little chicken.

A semblance of ecstasy appeared on his face as if today’s mission was already a success, with an extra little prize thrown in.

The smile on his face disgusted Jiang Zhe, and she grew annoyed.
