Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Neither You nor Your Car Is Any Good Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Neither You nor Your Car Is Any Good “I just made a little bet with He Zizhou and Liang Tian, won a car from each of them. Share and share alike, right?”
Jiang Zhe glanced at him and said, deeply, “I don’t have a driver’s license yet.”
Only then did Fen Ye remember her age.
“Pick one now, and you can drive it when you get the license.”
After all, Jiang Zhe had helped him win them, and Fen Ye wouldn’t hog them all to himself.
Resting her cheek in one hand, Jiang Zhe said, “I’m afraid I might not be able to resist.”
Fen Ye paused for a moment, already feeling Qin Jingchen’s cool gaze drifting over.
He Zizhou and Liang Tian were speechless with Fen Ye, not just for winning their cars but also for using their possessions to charm Jiang Zhe!
Crafty guy!
Liang Tian said, “Does sister-in-law have a motorcycle license?”
“I do have that.”
But Jiang Zhe hadn’t driven one for a long time.
She didn’t have any urgent matters and preferred the wide space of a bus.
“That’s great, I have a special motorbike over there. If sister-in-law likes it, feel free to take it for a spin,” said Liang Tian, smoothly pulling out the keys.
He Zizhou also chimed in, “I have one, too.”
Fen Ye could tell these two were deliberately challenging him, and said, “Well, I also have one, better than both of theirs!”
Jiang Zhe’s mood visibly improved from before, sweeping away her sullen demeanor as she discussed the motorbikes’ performance with He Zizhou and Liang Tian.
Seeing her take interest, Qin Jingchen said, “Shall I join you for a ride later?”
Jiang Zhe nodded, “Okay.”
With this common interest, although Jiang Zhe still didn’t talk much, she did feel more involved.
After the meal, the group headed towards the motorbike factory that Liang Tian had mentioned.
“Everyone likes motorbikes here, so I’ve got a place for everyone to ride at their leisure. Sister-in-law, when you’re back, pick any bike you like in the shed,” Liang Tian introduced.
With that, they arrived at the aforementioned shed.
Calling it a shed was an understatement; it was so spacious it seemed endless at a glance.
Various motorbikes were densely arranged inside.
Because Jiang Zhe was visiting, Liang Tian didn’t hold back. He pressed the remote control in his hand, opening the best shed, and said, “Sister-in-law, you can pick from here.”
He Zizhou exclaimed in surprise. Liang Tian was being really generous this time; he normally guarded his motorbikes as if his life depended on them, but now he was outright offering them up.
Jiang Zhe stepped forward and touched the closest bike to her but did not choose it.
After walking around inside, she shook her head slightly.
“The ones with okay performance have poor equipment, those with decent equipment are not aesthetically pleasing. The ones that are alright overall have substandard acceleration speeds,” Jiang Zhe commented politely.
“Don’t you like any of them?” Liang Tian was somewhat crestfallen.
He had so many good bikes there, yet Jiang Zhe hadn’t taken to any of them!
Was it a problem with his bikes or Jiang Zhe’s taste?
Fen Ye spoke up, “Some of my bikes are still stored here, want to have a look?”
“Mine are available too,” He Zizhou followed up.
Their garage doors opened, and while the quantity of their bikes was not on the same level as Liang Tian’s, the quality was certainly comparable.
Jiang Zhe looked for a while, but still shook her head.
There wasn’t a single one she could even barely approve of.
Not only that, she also pointed out specific problems with several cars, her criticisms sharp and to the point.
He Zizhou, Fen Ye, and Liang Tian only then began to believe she might truly have a passion for motorcycles, and really knew her stuff.
The three of them had their own vehicles, which they normally never allowed outsiders to use.
If only cars of that caliber could conquer Jiang Zhe, then they’d have to painfully let go of their treasures!
Just as they were about to speak up, a female voice interjected, “Miss Jiang, if you don’t mind, you can use my car.”
A fashionable, exquisitely dressed woman approached, already clad in a racer’s suit, looking very professional.
“Luo Xinyi, how did you get here?” Liang Tian asked.
“I was just accompanying a friend for some riding. Didn’t expect to bump into you all here.” Luo Xinyi said with a smile, “What a coincidence, everyone.”
Everyone knew Luo Xinyi was interested in Qin Jingchen and seized every chance to interact with him.
Liang Tian, fearing Qin Jingchen might think he had set Luo Xinyi up, quickly clarified, “You’ve always come here for riding before, all my people here recognize you, they often talk about seeing you. It really is a coincidence today.”
Eager to tell Qin Jingchen he had no idea Luo Xinyi would be here today.
“Sister-in-law, this is really a coincidence.” He explained to Jiang Zhe.
Jiang Zhe was indifferent, casually lifting her lashes to glance at Luo Xinyi, and only then remembered she was the woman who had given the useless incense to Old Mrs. Qin.
Qin Jingchen glanced at Luo Xinyi, who felt a chill down her spine, but didn’t think too much of it.
She hadn’t used any other tactics today, just happened to be here, how could she be blamed for that?
She approached Jiang Zhe, “Miss Jiang, what do you think of my car?”
Her car had been specially assembled, boasting outstanding performance, and up to professional standards.
It couldn’t compare to the beloved vehicles of Fen Ye, Liang Tian, and He Zizhou, but it still surpassed by far the ones they had brought to the place.
Jiang Zhe took one look and saw that while the performance of Luo Xinyi’s car was acceptable, it wasn’t anything special.
She spoke calmly and indifferently, “Not much to say.”
“Do you think my car isn’t much, or you just don’t feel like looking?” Luo Xinyi asked.
“A bit of both.” At any other time, Jiang Zhe couldn’t be bothered with such a car.
It was only in a setting like today’s that she spared it a cursory glance.
Luo Xinyi found herself embarrassed, yet inside she was pleased. If Jiang Zhe had been nice or even politely attentive to her, she would think that Jiang Zhe didn’t take her seriously at all.
But the evident hint of vinegar in Jiang Zhe’s tone suggested she saw her as a rival, right?
Little did she know, Jiang Zhe was like this with almost everyone and was very reluctant to engage in social niceties, particularly disliking when someone seeking courtesy just showed up.
It had nothing to do with the jealousy and competition Luo Xinyi imagined.
Luo Xinyi smiled gracefully, “Since that’s the case, I really don’t know what car would be worthy of Miss Jiang.”
Fen Ye felt she was truly courting death, being so passive-aggressive right in front of Qin Jingchen.
She might be interested in Qin Jingchen, but there were plenty of others interested in him too; it didn’t necessarily mean that Qin Jingchen would pick up on their hints.
“Would you like to take a look at my car?” Qin Jingchen asked Jiang Zhe.
“Where is it?” Jiang Zhe asked, clearly now less interested.
Fen Ye elbowed Liang Tian, blaming him for not bringing out his best car immediately.
Liang Tian also felt wronged. He had taken out all his good cars; the only one he hadn’t brought out was his personal ride.
His car had been his ‘lawful wife’ long before he got married—how could he share his ‘lawful wife’ with someone else at the drop of a hat?
