Chapter 181: Chapter 181: I’ve Heard That We Are Not Harmonious (Part 1)

Sophie Smith canceled today’s engagements because Irene Morton said she was bored at home alone and wanted some company.

Irene is quite dependent and a bit clingy, but not in a way that bothers others. You can tell from how she acts around Asher Land.

She thought, men should probably like this type of woman, right? fre(e)webnove.l.c.om

Irene and she were chatting about some private topics that girls talk about, but no matter how they tried, they couldn’t avoid mentioning Asher Land.

"Sister Sophie, can I ask you a question?" Irene blinked at her playfully.

"Sure, ask away."

"Um..." Suddenly, Irene hesitated. Sophie Smith was puzzled—since when did Irene, who was always so straightforward, have trouble speaking her mind?

"Actually, I’m just really curious about you and Brother Asher in that area."

"Which area?"

"That area!"

"Which area is that?"

"What you do at night." Irene thought she was being discreet enough.

Sophie Smith was first taken aback, then realized what she meant, and her face unconsciously turned red.

"Irene, why are you asking about this?"

"Just curious. Even though I’m twenty, I haven’t experienced that yet. Someday, I’ll become a woman, so, you know, I wanted to learn from you. You and Brother Asher are the best example, right?" Irene was earnest, leaving Sophie Smith at a loss whether to laugh or cry.

"Is it harmonious between you and Brother Asher?" Irene gave her a knowing look.

Sophie Smith really didn’t want to get tangled in such an awkward topic with Irene, but Irene kept pressing on with questions that left her speechless.

"Not harmonious." At least, she couldn’t keep up with Asher’s constant desire. That man had extraordinary stamina and energy.

Sophie Smith tossed these three words to Irene, then used taking a shower as an excuse to temporarily escape Irene’s relentless pursuit of their intimate discussions about her and Asher Land.

After her shower, Sophie Smith stayed in her room, lying on her bed, flipping through the latest magazines.

She was so engrossed that she forgot the time.

After a long, long while, she remembered Irene.

Oh no! She promised to keep her company today, but she seemed to have been quite neglectful.

She quickly slipped on a pair of slippers and headed downstairs, but stopped halfway.

Asher Land and Irene were sitting on the sofa with their backs to her, talking about something. All she saw was Irene laughing uncontrollably, leaning towards Asher.

Without hesitation, she turned and walked back.

Asher Land seemed to sense something, turning his head to look upstairs, just in time to see her retreating back.

Carefully, Sophie Smith closed the door and fell onto the soft bed, hiding her whole body under the covers.

She didn’t know how much time passed before she felt the covers being pulled away, replaced by a warm body enveloping her.

"Why are you going to sleep so early?" Asher Land held her body, his words carrying a heat that lingered by her ear, causing her sensitive body to involuntarily shudder.

"It’s already quite late."

Actually, it was just past eight, but saying so made it seem like she was just making excuses.

"I heard things aren’t harmonious with us? Hmm?" he asked softly.

"What?" Sophie Smith didn’t know what he was talking about.

"Forgetting things so easily—did you forget what you told Irene just two hours ago?"

"..."

Sophie Smith was speechless. She hadn’t expected Irene to relay her words to Asher Land so quickly,
