Chapter 94: SUMMER

Terrence went to his grocery store early in the morning.

He was greeted by mere silence and the huge space.

He was alone as Edwin was just about to come and Summer intended to come by the afternoon.

"Hmm," Terrence looked around.

Since the grocery store’s walls were purely glass in front, the inside was already bright even without opening the lights.

Terrence walked upstairs. He saw that the firnitures were already placed in an orderly manner for their start up.

It was Edwin who made this all possible.

"I should probably give him some bonus or something" Terrence took a deep breath.

He checked every room on the secpmd floor and made a mental list of the things they needed.

Currently they lack appliances, some tables and chairs.

Terrence went to the biggest room. It was intended to be his office.

There was a big table and a chair on the middle.

He stayed there for a while while waiting for Edwin to come.

He made a few phone call to their suppliers and informed then that they can deliver the goods as soon as possible.

After an hour has passed, Edwin arrived with a smile on his face. He greeted Terrence enthusiastically and showed the brown folder in his hand.

The brown folder contains the permits they have successfully acquired so far.

"You’re fast," Terrence’s lips curved up in a grin.

Edwin slowly nodded. "Yeah. The cab I took was fast. He used shortcuts."

"Ohhh."

When Terrence reached downstairs, he went towards Edwin and fist bumped with him.

Afterwards, Edwin opened the folder and showed the papers to Terrence.

With a smile on Edwin’s face, he stated, "Here, look at it."

Terrence accepted the papers. He looked through all of them.

Even though he already knew it, he was still surprised by how many there were.

"Thanks for this," Terrence genuinely said his appreciation to Edwin’s efforts.

Edwin shook his head. A smile appeared on his lips.

"It’s all thanks to you that I’m here. Without you, I do not know where I will be."

Edwin still remembered the time that Terrence visited him at his lowest point.

It was the most unexpected thing that happened to him as Terrence initially wasn’t expressive of his emotions.

Terrence gave him a new will direction in life when everything seemed to be falling apart.

Now with his wife’s continuous recovery, Edwin could pretty much say that he was now okay.

"How about the list of applicants I sent you? Were you able to look at them?’ There wasn’t a hint of bossiness on Terrence’s voice, rather it was of pure curiosity.

Edwin slowly nodded as an answer.

"I’ve looked through all of them. I handpicked some. I think it’s better if we discussed it together. We could include Summer on it if you’d like." Edwin suggested.

"That’s fine." Terrence stated. "How about we go upstairs first and talk about it for the meantime? Summer will be here in about 2 hours."

"Alright then. Go first, Boss!" A soft laugh escaped Edwin’s lips.

He didn’t know that calling someone boss would sound funny in his ears. He was used to getting it, that it sounded new to him that he was the one doing it.

As they went up, the two talked matters about the grocery store.

Edwin discussed that it is important for them to set contractual agreements with their employees. He learned it from William.

It was also important for them to set boundaries.

Terrence already had that in mind. He was glad that Edwin realized it.

Starting at Summer, they want to set things right immediately.

When the time hit exactly 12 in the afternoon, the two of them ordered some lunch for 3 people.

Terrence checked his phone and saw Summer’s message 30 minutes ago. She was informing Terrence that she was close already.

Terrence passed the message to Edwin. The two of them waited patiently both for the food and for Summer.

When a knock on the door sounded, the two of them immediately went outside, expecting that it was Summer.

However, a guy wearing a green uniformed greeted them. The guy had a huge smile on his face.

"The total bill is $644, Sir "

Terrence gave the man the whole $700.

The guy’s eyes widened. "Thank you for this, Sir!" He enthusiastically exclaimed.

Terrence just smiled as he accepted the paper bag filled with food. It was quite heavy as they ordered a lotm

"This is not for 3 people. It’s like we are feeding a family of 10." Terrence tilted her head to the side.

Edwin chuckled. There were 4 large paper bags in front of them.

It really seemed like they went overboard this time.

Terrence and Edwin laughed together as they brought the food containers out.

In front of them were 10 big containers filled with different kinds of dishes.

They don’t know how they will finish all of this, especially since there will only be 3 of them.

The two of them set the table and just waited for Summer’s arrival.

*Ding

As the doorbell rang, both Terrence and Edwin looked at each other.

That must be Summer already.

They went downstairs and with a beating heart, they opened the door.

"Hi! Am I in the right place?"

A woman wearing a black dress appeared in front of them. She looked around, confused whether she was in the right place.

Summer has an angelic but fierce face. She has reddish lips and big eyes. Her cheeks were stained red. Her brown wavy hair was resting on her shoulders.

"Are you Summer?" Terrence asked uncertainty.

Summer shyly nodded her head. The man in front of her looked very handsome.

"Do you know who Terrence is?" Summer, asked in confusion.

Looking back at the messages she had with him, she concluded that Terrence should be by 30s now.

Terrence laughed out loud. He grinned and took a step backward.

"I am him."
