"Your Majesty! I have missed you." Lady Eleanor murmured, her hand wrapped around the King, a coy smile on her face. When she saw the King didn’t reciprocate her hug, her face turned into a scowl which she wiped off her face when she stood straight once more.

She stook a step back, taking her hair behind her hair, "Your Majesty, didn’t you miss me too? Oh, my apologies, of course you did. I mean you invited me to the castle." A soft smile stretched on her lips, with her head slightly bowed to appear respectful before the King.

"I saw your carriage leave just as mine drove in. We missed each other in a matter of seconds. I have been waiting for you to come back, and you finally did. Come on, let’s go inside. We shouldn’t be standing here in front of the maids and servants."

"Have you eye sight gone blind?" Came the first words of Sthena as he regarded the Lady who since she came out has been babbling non stop. "And also, I do not remember giving out the order that the castle had turned into a .... ground. Where is Daemon?" The annoyance in the way Sthena spoke could be detected as the maids scrambled away to call quickly Daemon.

The on smile on Eleanor’s face was quick to fall, her eyes staring in disbelief at the king and how he had spoken to her as though she was a lowly maid. "Your Majesty, I—" Eleanor started, just in time for Daemon to appear with one of the maids who had gone to call him.

"Milord," Daemon bowed. Turning to the confused Perdita he greeted, "Lady Perdita."

Eleanor’s gaze as soon as she heard Daemon speak was quick to to land on Perdita whom she had failed to acknowledge. "Who is she?" She questioned, her expression turning sour. She could recall the maid from earlier calling the same name she was to answer to her mistress alone. And this Perdita was with King too, she noted. Her face turning more sour than it already did.

"Daemon," Sthena ignoring Eleanor’s question like everyone else did, "Get her out of here immediately. My eyes feels itchy at the sight of her."

"Wait what?!" Eleanor shrieked, not believing her ears. "You cannot do that."

"Lady Eleanor, it’s best you took your carriage and belongings back to your father’s house before the King loses his temper. You don’t come to the castle without appointment." Daemon explained, pushing his spectacle up his nose as his patience was already waning.

"Come on, darling. I’m sorry for that trouble," Sthena without sparing Eleanor a glance took Perdita’s hand and walked into the castle.

"Lady Eleanor?" Daemon called to get the attention of vampiress who couldn’t believe she was being ignored by the king. "Who is that woman?"

"That is not the suitable topic to discuss in this situation now, Lady Eleanor. The best I can advise you is to leave. The king wouldn’t entertain you causing trouble for him when you don’t have any appointment with him."

"Who said I do not have an appointment?!" Eleanor fuming with anger with face beet red in embarrassment pulled out a single parchment from under sleeves with she opened to show Daemon. "Read the words here and then look at the stamp. Now, tell if you don’t recognize the king’s stamp or not know what does words mean!"

"Who was that Lady?" Perdita quizzed once she and Sthena were alone in the study room. She was surprised to see see the vampiress suddenly hug Sthena saying she missed him.

"She is the daughter of Prime Minister Elliot’s son. She used to come here with her father when I assigned a task to him." Sthena explained, his hand pulling Perdita close to him as it circled around her waist.

"Oh, she seems close," Perdita mouthed. "But she mentioned you inviting her to the castle.

"If I did invite her to the castle, I would have welcomed her as my quest. And no, she is not close. It is she who wishes to think that." As he spoke, his hand caressed Perdita’s cheeks as a smile stretched on his lips.

"Why are you smiling?" Perdita quizzed, her lips pursed in displeasure she couldn’t hide no matter how hard she tried to.

"You look adorable when you are jealous," Sthena said chuckling.

"I’m not jealous," Perdita sharply retorted, rolling her eyes.

"In as much I would avoid making you jealous, I won’t deny I don’t like seeing the look on your face. She is shouldn’t be your worry and also you shouldn’t worry, my sweet girl. This heart of mine beats for only you." Sthena added and kissed her cheeks. "Will you bake for me?" He suddenly asked, his gaze on her soft where his affection towards her was bare for her to see.

Blood rushed up Perdita’s face, her cheeks flushed at the words of Sthena. She replied, "Of course, whenever you want, I will always bake for you."

"Now," Sthena flashed her a cheeky smile. "Another thing," He said, his brows furrowed as he spoke, "I do not like sharing. I want to be the only one eating the buns."

Perdita’s eyes widened in surprise, "How did you know I gave the maids and the servants some buns?"

"I have ears around the castle, darling. You do not expect me to sit and not know if anyone got your nerves now, do you?"

’I’m sure His Majesty will go nuts and become more possessive of you once he tastes your buns.’ The words of Emily replayed in her head as she came to realize how possessive Sthena sounded about sharing the buns.

Perdita shook her head smiling, "You are always the same Sthena since I knew you."

"I do not if that is a compliment or you are joking with me," Sthena frowned. He bent low, sniffing her neck as he murmured, "Whatever you mean, just know my feelings towards you is unchanging as my red hair."

"Let me go bake you the buns," Perdita said and stood on her toes to place a kiss on Sthena’s cheeks.
