Chapter 115: Witches in the Castle (1)

Marco was startled at first seeing those bewitching green of the three people that suddenly appeared from nowhere.

"Who are you?" Marco asked in alert. His eyes skeptically darted around the place looking for something to defend himself with in case these people had malicious intentions.

"I am Serena," Serena answered, her eyes not for once leaving Marco’s black ones. A swirl of emotion appeared in her eyes that was replaced by a confused look.

Marco stared at the woman who introduced herself as Serena and then at the men who stood by her sides with the same intense gaze.

"What do you want? Are you looking for someone or did you miss your way?" Marco continued to ask. He haven’t seen these people in his village before and it didn’t look like they may have relocated here.

Looking at the clothes of the two men, one would know that it would cost quite a lot of gold coins. It was only the woman’s dress that looked a little cheap.

"We are looking for two persons," Serena answered Marco’s question while gauging the reactions of Marco.

"Two persons?" Marco questioned back. "Might you know their names?"

"No," Serena shook her head negatively. "We do not know their names. What we know them as might have changed. May you know your name?" Serena asked in a gentle voice

.

"No," Marco replied with a frown. "I do not know you and I haven’t seen you before to give my name to you."

Serena smiled and waved her hand in dismissal. "Is alright if you don’t feel comfortable with that."

"Can you leave a description of the people you are looking for, in case I see them?" Marco probed, wanting to know whom they were looking for. In his mind, he remembered what Perdita told him about someone who was after them.

The man who had been producing the pills which he also learned were blood pills. Could it be that the man sent these people to capture them?

Marco became alert immediately and took two steps back. His eyes moved around the area hoping for Daemon to come back quickly.

He knew with his health, he cannot do anything to win against them if perhaps they were from that person. It was a three against one, he was bound to lose.

Serena, Leonard, and Fredrick saw the guarded look on Marco’s face when he took some steps back.

"You don’t have to be afraid. We are not here to hurt you. We are only travelers looking for someone."

That is what they all say. Marco said in his mind. His cautiousness not wavering one bit.

"If we leave the description of the people, you may or may not know them," Serena replied with the smile still on her face.

"Still," Marco insisted. He wanted to know who they were looking for and if it will match the description of him and his sister.

"Well if you insist," Serena nodded. "Their face might be hard to describe since it has been long since we last saw them."

"Since when was that?" Marco quizzed.

"Since they were little."

Marco narrowed his eyes in more suspicion. "And you think they might still be alive?"

The question of Marco made the hearts of Serena, Leonard, and Fredrick skip a beat in fear of the possibility of the Young Lord and the young Lady they were looking for being dead.

"Well," Serena began with a distant look. "They could be alive. Do you have a sister?" Serena suddenly questioned bringing back the guarded look on Marco’s face.

"No," Marco’s answered in a firm voice and went on to speak in an attempt to drive them away.

"Since you didn’t see who you’re looking for, you might as well leave?" Marco said to them, not allowing them to see the fear in his eyes.

"Of course, we will get going but if you see a sibling, precisely a boy and a girl both with green eyes, please inform the Head Warden of this village."

The Head Warden was also involved? Then, they were serious about the two people they were looking for. Marco thought to himself.

But wait. Did they say green eyes? His sister had green eyes. It couldn’t be her since they also said that both of the siblings had green eyes.

"Hm, I will." Marco nodded at them and watched them turn to leave, and at the same time, he saw Daemon walk towards them, and Serena and the two men stopped too.

Daemon slowed his steps when he came to stand in front of them. "What took you so long, Marco?"

Marco?

Serena, Leonard, and Fredrick swiftly turned to look at Marco who also felt the stares of them.

"Oh, I’m sorry, I decided to do a little cleaning before these people came to me. Are you done with work?" Marco asked.

"Yes, we will be leaving now. Go get your stuff." Daemon replied. Once Marco walked inside the house, he turned to Serena and the two men.

"A word with you Serena?" He said and walked to the side, away from the men.

Leonard and Fredrick stepped forward to shield Serena from Daemon whom they have been glaring daggers at since he walked in.

"Don’t worry, I know him," Serena told them with a reassuring nod.

At the same time, the men’s brows rose in surprise at what Serena said, and they muttered an okay simultaneously.

"What do you want, Mr. Daemon?" Serena questioned immediately as she stood in front of Daemon.

"His Majesty wishes to see you," Daemon responded to her question.

"Why?"

"It is best you come with me and hear from him instead," Daemon replied subtly watching the men who haven’t stopped looking at him for any suspicious move.

"I guess they’re with you?" He asked nodding towards Leonard and Fredrick.

"Yes," Serena answered. "Are you going back to the castle right now?"

"Yes. The earlier we arrive the better." Daemon said and began to walk back to where Leonard and Fredrick stood, and Marco stepped out of the house with a small bag in his hand that also caught the attention of Serena.

"You’ve got a unique bag," Serena commented.

"Thank you," Marco replied and held onto his bag tightly. "Are they going with us?" He turned to Daemon.

"Yes. Let’s go."

"I didn’t know we are going with him?" Leonard whispered a question to Serena.

"We have a change of plan, Leo. I need to be in the castle to verify and do something." Serena replied, deliberately slowing her steps so Daemon wouldn’t hear what they were discussing.

"The castle?!" Fredrick who walked beside them while listening to their conversation almost screamed. "The devious king..."

"Do not worry about the king. He’s no problem, at least for now. I know him." Serena replied with a thoughtful look. "There’s something I urgently need to confirm that is currently in the castle now."
