Chapter 135: Chapter 86: Honor and Disgrace Go with the Wind

Qin Ming didn’t say another word. He took out ten pieces of Day Gold and swiftly put the Ancient Book into his bosom.

The Mountain Monster covered all over in black fur was quite particular, its eyelids were not that shallow, it didn’t just stare at the Purple Lightning Beast, it also struck up a conversation with Qin Ming: "Guest, you’re not even taking a closer look at this book, just buying it directly?"

Qin Ming stroked his chubby face’s whiskers and said, "My purchase of ancient books is purely for ornamental elegance, having an object with a sense of age on the bookshelf. I read little on a regular day, this is just compensating for what I lack; having it in the study room adds an impression of profundity."

The Mountain Monster stall owner laughed along and said: "You’re too modest, anyone who loves books is a cultured person."

Qin Ming just played along with laughter, but actually felt like having a thorn in his back. Staying in a place like this, occasionally eyed by the glance of Alien Species, he could flip over at any moment.

He wanted to withdraw immediately, but what did he see? At the further stall over there, a huge pile of books was displayed!

He was a book lover, genuinely unable to shift his gaze away, unable to step away, suffering terribly inside and struggling immensely.

"Screw it!" Qin Ming thought. Having come this far and even encountering it, seeing a stack of ancient Secret Manuals, he’d definitely regret for years if he didn’t take a look.

Besides, did he lack this short moment of time? This place was filled with mutant creatures after all. If something unexpected happened, he could drench himself in Mutant Blood and fight his way out.

Qin Ming was somewhat nervous, and some of the Alien Species also felt the pressure. Could the identity of someone personally accompanied by the noble lady from the Blessed Land be simple?

Especially since the Purple Lightning Beast was staying so close to him and was exceedingly solemn, it was clear that this Human male had a big background.

Many Alien Species noticed, even the two underlings of the Purple Lightning Beast were standing on that Human male’s shoulders, grinning foolishly non-stop, as if associating with this man was like stepping onto the path to heaven, not caring about their own masters anymore, nearly losing their bird-like appearance while laughing!

In fact, both birds felt bitter inside. Who the hell wants to laugh? They were forced to, being glued to his shoulders and undoubtedly unable to flee. If they dared not cooperate, they would be turned into meat patties!

Before coming in, they were required to wash off the blood on their feathers clean. Anyway, now that their feathers were folded, they could not see much.

Qin Ming looked at the books spread on the ground exuding a sense of years, touched them one by one, and then casually flipped through a few pages.

He was somewhat doubtful, why was there no spiritual resonance?

Soon he realized, this was a large-scale fraud!

Qin Ming looked up at the simple-minded Alien Species grinning foolishly, sighing inwardly. Was the competition so fierce in the mountains? This bear-like Mountain Monster was no good stuff; obviously, it wanted to scam Humans.

"All these were left by my father. I don’t know exactly what’s in them and can’t understand this text," the Alien Species grinned, with a huge mouth reeking of blood, cleanly pushing the responsibility aside.

Qin Ming didn’t want to waste words with it, time was urgent, and he could be caught in a bloody battle with numerous mutant creatures at any moment; he needed to hurry and search this place.

He was single-mindedly looking for old objects, hoping to obtain rare and precious legacies.

Qin Ming didn’t feel any guilt. Relations between Humans and Alien Species were complicated, with times of peaceful coexistence, but also often involving mutual deception and killing. Encountering each other in the mountains, they would hunt each other as long as the opportunity arose.

Behind some of these books ending up here, there were most certainly bloody stories.

Finally, Qin Ming made another discovery: it was a Secret Manual about a Footwork Technique, which pleased him greatly, acquiring this type of legacy for the first time.

The Purple Lightning Beast, serving as the backdrop, accompanied him throughout the process. This fat deadbeat was clearly taking advantage of it, shamelessly benefiting here by relying on it, infuriatingly so!

"Gaga..." The talking sparrow and the Starling giggled even more joyfully as Qin Ming made a new acquisition.

Because they felt their master’s facial expression management was inadequate, too solemn. They were very afraid of death now, worried about revealing flaws, helping the Purple Lightning Beast to cover up and patch up, not wanting to be immediately exposed, afraid the fat man would silence them by killing the beasts and smashing the net.

At first, Qin Ming was so nervous that his palms were nearly sweating. After all, more and more Mountain Monsters were beginning to look at him with burning eyes, but as time went on, he pondered and realized that these Alien Species had blown the misunderstanding out of proportion!

Because, he found that the way these Mountain Monsters were looking at him was also rather unusual.

"This gentleman is an intimate friend of our master!" the talking sparrow stated with certainty amidst its silly laughter.

Some Alien Species looked down on them, certainly, these traitorous birds had already switched sides, choosing to follow that Human male now.

Qin Ming quickened his pace, feeling quite good about this experience of fleecing, continuously finding pleasure in his heart.

"Boss, I saw a book from a long distance when I just arrived here, why is it gone now?" Qin Ming asked, stopping in front of a special stall.

This was not a common stall but a movable tent of Silver Light made of beast hide. It was evident that this Mountain Monster was quite wealthy, selling extraordinary items.

"Did you hide it on purpose when you saw us coming?" Qin Ming pointed out directly, after all, even if there were problems, all the consequences would fall upon the Purple Lightning Beast.

This human-form Alien Species’ silver hair flowed down, with two Jade Horns on top of its head, one behind the other, one long and one short, appearing like Rhinoceros Horns no matter how you looked at them.

The Purple Lightning Beast was side-eyeing with discontent, was it that upon seeing it approach, they began to hide and guard, wary of thieves?

It recognized this White Rhinoceros, the grandchild of the deep mountain’s Spiritual Jade Rhinoceros. Was this discrimination against it?
