Night Without End
Chapter 127 - 82 Qu Shui Liu Shang

Chapter 127: Chapter 82 Qu Shui Liu Shang

Under the night sky, with the constant revival of the underground Fire Spring, ice and snow melted, and the trickling of streams grew louder, converging into creeks in the mountains.

Chosen by Qin Ming, this area of the pine forest had a relatively open terrain, convenient for making a move. At the moment, he was encircled by Dai Shifeng and his ten trusted followers.

"They’re all here!" Dai Shifeng couldn’t help but whisper a reminder. The Hall Master was closing in with his Exotic Bird, so why hadn’t people from the City Lord’s Mansion appeared yet?

Qin Ming said nothing. At this stage, if he wanted to get full support from others, hiding his capabilities wouldn’t work; he had to let his scarce value be fully unleashed!

The black Raptor circled in the sky above, and Ge Qianxun, observing from above, didn’t rush to descend right away. He was observing the nearby woods with great caution.

With the arrival of early spring, the weather was no longer so cold. The young man standing on the back of the silver Exotic Bird wore a fluttering white robe blown about by the wind, looking quite handsome and refined.

He looked down and spoke calmly, "Now that it’s come to this, how do you feel?"

"Grounded, quite good," replied Qin Ming as he looked at this old acquaintance.

The youth in white nodded and said, "In the past, you sat high above in the clouds, and now you’ve fallen among the dust. Your mindset is indeed not bad."

Qin Ming, with an undisturbed expression, returned, "You don’t need to posture like this with me; we both know each other too well."

"However, you are indeed no longer who you once were. I’m speaking to you with a common heart, is there anything wrong with that?" The boy in white, about sixteen or seventeen years old, spoke indifferently.

Qin Ming replied while looking at him, "Considering our past friendship and someone else’s face, I advise you one last time. Let bygones be bygones. Don’t stir things up at this point—it won’t be good for anyone."

"Friendship? There’s no need to mention it any further, we don’t need to talk about face between you and me anymore," said the youth in white, hands behind his back, looking at the tall figure in the woods.

"At odds with each other," Qin Ming’s face revealed a hint of coldness.

"Yes, I feel the same way, you have become increasingly disagreeable to me. Some old friends have said that you have returned to where you belong."

Qin Ming was not courteous either, saying, "Since there’s no friendship left and no more intersections between us, why do you come here and put on an act? Trying to flaunt your nobility and showcase the elegance of a noble’s son? I’ve seen enough of you in the past, so be gone."

The boy in white was indifferent, "In the past, I was surrounded by stars and moons, even your mount was a thrice-mutated Alien Species. And now, you actually took up the Big Hammer, haha!"

Qin Ming did not get angry but smiled lightly, "It seems that I really made you uncomfortable back then. Does Wang Caiwei know you came here? If she heard, would she personally break your legs?"

"Shut up!" The boy in white on the back of the silver Exotic Bird said with an ice-cold voice, "You resuming your current position is still not enough; only by completely disappearing and never showing up again would be the safest for all of us."

"Listening to all that you said, I’ve already grown disgusted," Qin Ming shook his head and tossed the Big Hammer on the ground.

"Do you know what ’a world of difference’ means? The gap between you and me is just like that," said the young man in white, like a snow figure with hands behind him, perched on the back of the Exotic Bird in the high sky, certainly somewhat ethereal.

Yet, his words were quite distasteful, and his indifferent demeanor was uncomfortable to witness. Looking down from above, he said, "Do you understand?"

"A world of difference, I understand very well. Perhaps you don’t grasp it fully yet; let me help you." Qin Ming removed a long package from his back.

Then, he quickly unrolled it and took out a heavy Big Bow; nothing else needed to be said. Now, as he drew his bow full circle, facing northwest, the string trembled, and an Iron Arrow screamed through the sky, shooting straight up!

The boy in white saw him take the bow and spurred the silver Raptor to ascend rapidly, also not taking it too seriously. He knew that Qin Ming, having been thrown into a remote place for two years, had never stepped on the Newborn Road, only recently showing some improvement—a too long delay—how strong could his Arrow Technique be?

Thwack!

The silver Exotic Bird was struck by an arrow, and the boy in white’s face changed drastically. While only a wing was wounded, it affected the balance, and the bird began to falter.

With a whoosh, Qin Ming’s second Iron Arrow was released. The silver Exotic Bird’s feathers shattered, its abdomen bloodied, and it lacked the strength to climb into the sky. It circled weakly downward, barely maintaining itself from crashing directly.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Ge Qianxun of Xinyi Hall had made the completely opposite choice, directing the black Raptor down toward the ground.

"You sure have aged in wisdom!" Qin Ming bended his bow, and like a long rainbow piercing the sun, one arrow exploded the head of the black Exotic Bird, ending its life instantly.

In the sky, the boy in white’s expression completely changed. He realized that Qin Ming had the ability to shoot down his flying mount with a single arrow. He was simply controlling the tempo intentionally.

He looked down to see a quagmire formed by the melted ice and snow, precisely where the silver Exotic Bird was about to fall.

On the other side, Ge Qianxun seemed to be well-prepared. He controlled the wings of the black Raptor, not allowing it to fold, maneuvering it as it glided toward the pine forest.

Most importantly, he was very close to the ground.

Even so, when Qin Ming’s second Iron Arrow came flying, he was caught off guard and made a mistake in controlling the pitch-black Raptor’s wings while trying to dodge the Arrow Feather, causing him and his deceased flying mount to plunge headlong into the dense forest.

Ge Qianxun’s subsequent actions once again surprised Qin Ming; he actually wore batwing-like black attire and, abandoning the Raptor’s corpse, glided at low altitude before crashing into the dense forest.

Fortunately, he was indeed very close to the ground and, with the protection of Heavenly Light, did not get into an accident. Breaking many branches, he managed to land relatively safely.

Elsewhere, the young man in white, attempting to change the direction of the silver Exotic Bird and fly toward the nearby mountain peak.

However, now Qin Ming controlled the rhythm; with one arrow, he pierced through the root of the Exotic Bird’s right wing, helping it recalibrate its direction.

"You..." The white-clothed youth panicked; this was mid-air, after all, where the flying mount trembled uncontrollably and was even on the verge of somersaulting.

He could no longer remain composed, no longer dared to cross his hands behind his back and act superior, instead, he lay flat on the silver Exotic Bird, clinging to its neck and urging, "Stabilize, descend quickly."

Qin Ming released two more arrows, flawlessly controlling the rhythm and choosing the landing spot for the silver Raptor. When they were not too high above the ground, his final arrow shot out with a hiss, penetrating its head.

"Ah..." The young man in white screamed, and then, along with his deceased flying mount, with a splash, crashed into the muddy quagmire by the riverside.

Even with all his might and the Heavenly Light Protection, he was still battered and bruised, with his internal organs aching fiercely. Covered in mud, his once white attire was now filthy beyond recognition, and his handsome face was smeared as well.

"Ah..." His screams were anguished, not due to broken bones or muscles, but out of sheer rage. What had he been reduced to now?

"A world of difference, do you understand now?" Qin Ming asked him from afar.

"Cui Chonghe, no, Qin Ming!" Although he wasn’t hurled to the point of vomiting blood, the youth in white now saw stars, completely mortified and furious beyond measure.

In the past, he and his kindred spirits enjoyed the refined enjoyment of culture in the woods, reciting poems, lying drunk beside Fire Spring in the pine forest, exhibiting sheer elegance and carefree spirit.

Now, having plummeted into the wilderness and become a mud man, he experienced a crude form of "Qu Shui Liu Shang."

With a bang, the hairpin on the young man’s head was blown apart by an arrow from Qin Ming, leaving him disheveled and with his noble young master’s poise lost to oblivion.

In the forest, Ge Qianxun landed safely and took a deep breath, relieved from the harrowing moment.

Dai Shifeng, leading ten of his trusty subordinates, arrived swiftly at the scene.

"Why didn’t you go..."

"Hall Master, you’re surrounded by us!" Dai Shifeng spoke sternly.

Ge Qianxun wanted to dig at his ears, sure that he hadn’t misheard. What was this situation, his own men were surrounding him?

"Dai Shifeng, are you out of your mind?" he bellowed in anger.

Dai Shifeng replied solemnly, "Former Hall Master, you’re the one who’s lost it."

Ge Qianxun did indeed feel like he was going insane. This deputy not only led his men to besiege him but also called him the ’former’ Hall Master—a blatant rebellion and power grab!

"Former Hall Master, you have betrayed Xinyi Hall; do you even understand the meaning of faith and righteousness?" Dai Shifeng accused.

Ge Qianxun was about to explode with rage. He hadn’t had the chance to reprimand the other yet he was being bombarded with severe accusations. Was there no law left?

"You dare to commit insubordination and create chaos!" Ge Qianxun slowly loosened up his muscles and bones, preparing to clean house first by killing Dai Shifeng, then make other decisions thereafter.

Dai Shifeng’s voice was even louder as he declared, "Ge Qianxun, you embezzled Xinyi Hall’s private assets and planned to run away with Day Gold. You are the rebellious traitor. Moreover, you are the infamously notorious Golden Thief who snuck into our Xinyi Hall with insidious motives, stealthily usurping power for years, undermining the foundation of our Hall—it’s an unforgivable crime!"

"Old Dai, to serve as my deputy was indeed beneath your talents. However, you no longer have a chance. I will get rid of you first!" Ge Qianxun was ruthless, no longer interested in slapping labels onto his opponent. Eradicating them in the flesh seemed far more effective.

Qin Ming approached, saying, "Justice has a long memory, Ge Qianxun, I have a score to settle with you!"

"I have no quarrel with you, only the bill promised by my employer," Ge Qianxun said, staring at him.

"The secret book of the Sun Family was taken by you, right? And you killed Old Man Sun, and now you’re making life difficult for that old lady and her grandson. I’ve learned the Sun Family’s Hammer Technique, so I’m somewhat of a successor to that secret book. Today, I’m here specifically to demand a blood debt from you on behalf of the Sun Family," Qin Ming, carrying Big Hammer, advanced menacingly.

Ge Qianxun, who was always cautious by nature, upon seeing his opponent’s strong posture, didn’t care about the real strength of his adversary and, with a whoosh, disappeared into the forest intending to escape.

Yet, the next moment, his expression changed. The young man’s speed was incredibly fast, ghostlike blocking his path. Swinging Big Hammer, he hammered down with full force.
