Chapter 400: Chapter 190: I Have Arrived at the Battlefield!_3

This did surprise Li Yelai a bit, as Jin Shu should have brought word of his own.

Gretwin dared to enter the Great Cathedral alone, even after knowing that there were angels among them wishing him harm?

Did he believe he would not be in danger as long as he was by Mei Wu’s side?

It was hard to say whether he was audacious to the extreme or just incredibly quick-witted.

...

As time ticked away, the moment of execution drew nearer, and the atmosphere within Silver Mountain City grew more fanatical.

When several griffins with white wings soared across Silver Mountain City, the frenzy among its inhabitants peaked, and countless Forbidden Zone Humans roared and screamed.

For these griffins were dragging a cage the size of a room.

Within the cage, three severely mutilated humans were confined.

Their bodies were secured by chains, suspended within the cage. The tattered black coats they wore hinted at their identity. Had it not been for the medicines from the Heavenly Kingdom maintaining them, their injuries might have killed them long ago.

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

Forbidden Zone Humans, men and women, old and young, were all screaming wildly.

A wave of malicious intent surged toward the three, so strong that the humans would have attacked them if angels had not been escorting them.

The loathing of the Forbidden Zone Humans towards other humans was even more intense than that of the Forbidden Zone Creatures.

As the shouts of murder swelled, the three people in the cage slowly awoke.

A middle-aged man with missing legs and only one arm left opened his eyes in confusion.

He rasped, "Am I still alive? Dà, Little White Pig...how are you?"

A young man a few steps away opened his eyes, one of his eyeballs gouged out, the remaining one dull and lifeless.

His elbows and knees were bent backward, clearly broken by brute force.

"I’m still alive, leader..." the young man spoke with difficulty, "Dà...are you there? I can’t see you..."

A young woman hung before him, but he could no longer see her.

Her body was mutilated as if pierced by several spears, her thighs, abdomen, and shoulders bore clear penetrating wounds.

"It’s a blessing... that you can’t see how ghastly I look right now," she murmured softly, "I regret so much that we didn’t have a child... My belly has been pierced... I fear I can never bear children again... It hurts so much."

"Very soon... it will no longer hurt," tears mixed with blood rolled down the man’s eyes as he softly consoled, attempting to embrace the girl as he had always done before, to hold her close. But he no longer had the arms to embrace her, he could only speak in anguish, "Good girl, this is just a nightmare, you’ll wake up soon. There will be cotton candy you love to eat..."

"Mhm...I’ll eat all of it," the girl sobbed gently, yet she managed a smile.

The middle-aged man let out a desolate sigh, "Do I have to cope with such dog food before I die? This is too much..."

"Human, you still have another choice," an angel approached the cage, speaking matter-of-factly, "Accept Lady Mei Wu’s proposal. Accept it, and you can all live. Stop being stubborn."

However, the three of them ignored him. They had already faced this choice countless times and had long made their decision.

If the Soul Well had not been heavily damaged, they would have embraced the Chaos and exploded into the Forbidden Zone long ago!

But at this moment, as their awareness slowly returned, they were beginning to realize their predicament.

Were they... being paraded through the streets? Were they... about to be executed?

Hang on, what was the Forbidden Zone planning to do? Using such fanfare to kill me?

As his thoughts became clear, the middle-aged man’s eyes widened as he looked down at the soldiers filling the city and the numerous angels.

"It’s a trap... it’s a trap!" he shouted in horror, summoning his last bit of Spiritual Energy, screaming into the Void Realm, "Don’t come out, it’s a trap!"

With just a glance, he understood their predicament; the three of them were like deadly bait, tempting their comrades into a trap!

Their angry roars alerted their comrades hidden among the crowd to stay calm.

However, they indeed saw a brilliant burst of Fire, which shot into the sky and then bloomed into crimson fireworks.

They knew these fireworks all too well; these were Ye Boshou’s signals.

When communication became difficult in complex environments, when distances were too great for Spiritual Energy to carry their voices, they used these specially made signal flares.

Different fireworks signified different meanings: beware of danger, call for help, evacuate, stay away from the current area, and so on.

And this red firework meant...

’I have arrived on the Battlefield.’

A Ye Boshou had abandoned all pretense, revealing their position and identities right away!

Following the first flare, as if in response, one firework after another burst from all over the city into the sky.

’I have arrived on the Battlefield.’

’I have arrived on the Battlefield!’

In an instant, nine fiery signals twinkled. The crimson fireworks, like fluttering red banners!

Blood-stained white wings, black coats high in the sky.

The angels and griffins beside the cage were cut down in a flash.

The cage did not fall, however; it was caught firmly.

"You’re all mad!" the middle-aged man wept.

"It’s okay now, comrade," a Ye Boshou answered with a light chuckle.

In a flash, forty-three figures emerged in the sky, forty-three waves of Spiritual Energy exploded in the Void Realm!

"I have arrived on the Battlefield!"

(Sorry for being late, I took a long time to make changes at the end.)
