Chapter 313: Chapter 147 Gulan Sanks’s Heart_2

A few seconds later, the sensation of weightlessness and the brightness disappeared, and Li Yelai found himself within the ark.

Inside the vast hall of the ark, there was already a figure present.

It was none other than Chu He, who, at that moment, was standing by the wall, looking at the third scroll on the wall.

The scroll depicted flames in a striking shade of blue-green.

As Li Yelai arrived, Chu He turned his head to look at him.

His towering height of two meters and thirty centimeters was quite oppressive, but Li Yelai noticed his cloak was tattered and stained with a lot of blood.

"You’ve finally arrived, Copper Face," Chu He chuckled softly.

"Lord Chu He," Li Yelai greeted, "Your injuries..."

"Hey, I underestimated Gulan Sanks’ keen senses. That creature attacked me from five kilometers away..." Chu He clicked his tongue, "I was forced to absorb the Scarlet Tree Liquid to recover some of my injuries, otherwise, I wouldn’t have had the energy to help you search for the Heavenly Meteor Qilin."

"Have you already killed Gulan Sanks?" Li Yelai asked.

"Yeah, why else would I be in such a rush for you to come?" Chu He laughed, "It just died recently; my physical location is right in Gulan Sanks’ lair."

"In its lair?" Li Yelai was somewhat surprised; entering the ark’s consciousness meant detaching from the physical world.

That’s why most of the Ark Chosen Ones would enter the ark from a safe area.

Chu He was quite bold, daring to enter the ark right after killing Gulan Sanks in its own lair.

"You don’t have to be in such a hurry, it would be better to enter the ark from a safe place," Li Yelai said.

"Don’t be so formal with me; we are both Ark Chosen Ones. Both human," Chu He laughed, "As for a safe place, we don’t have Giant City; there simply is no safe place. You live within the orderly world and might not understand the terror of the Lost Land."

"Alright, now that you’re here too, let’s proceed with the transaction." Chu He raised his hand, and a massive heart covered in black and crimson scales, dripping with blood, appeared on his shoulder.

The heart seemed to still have vitality, faintly beating even though it had been extracted.

The heart was so big that it was even larger than Chu He’s stature.

"Is this the heart of Gulan Sanks? How big was its body?" Li Yelai asked in astonishment, then he also took out Pure Biomass and Scarlet Tree Liquid.

"A few hundred meters, perhaps?" Chu He shook his head, "When facing it, there was no time to estimate its size. I could only find opportunities to charge at it amongst the Red Thunder. Once it was dead, I extracted its heart to find you. If you want to know, I can measure some of it later and tell you the data at the next gathering."

"If it’s not too much trouble. Also, I’d like to know about some of the abilities of Gulan Sanks. Your ’menu’ doesn’t have data on such entities," Li Yelai said.

"These Ancient Dragons are few and very powerful. I haven’t yet reached the arrogance of being able to hunt Overlords at will. Maybe when I become a Spiritual Ability Supreme, I’ll add them to the list," Chu He replied, "But, since you want to know, you’ll need to wait here for a bit. I’ll compile a report on Gulan Sanks’ abilities for you."

"Thank you very much. As for the payment..." Li Yelai thought for a moment and took out an additional ten kilograms of Scarlet Tree Liquid.

Chu He nodded in approval: "You’re really on the right track!"

Afterward, the two successfully completed the transaction.

Chu He obtained the remaining Scarlet Tree Liquid and Pure Biomass.

On the table in front of Li Yelai, there appeared a giant heart.

Being in close contact with such a heart, the mere residual beating was enough to make Li Yelai’s heart race.

It was unimaginable how terrifying the power must have been when it was alive.

And this Ancient Dragon had been cleanly slain by the very Chu He standing before him.

Chu He’s strength probably surpassed even Lord Sword Madman!

Such was an Overlord of the Seventh Awakening.

Li Yelai pondered when he might reach such a level.

As Li Yelai was lost in thought, Chu He disappeared for a while, then later returned to the Ark Hall.

He approached Li Yelai and took out a few photographs, handing them over, "These were taken by my companion from afar."

Li Yelai stood up to receive the photos.

The photos seemed to be taken from a great distance from the battlefield, but one could still see the giant dragon.

The giant dragon stood atop a mountain summit, as if it were the incarnation of ancient mountains.

Its body meandered like mountain ridges, its dark gold scales emphasizing its ancient and solemn nature.

Its forelimb was raised, each claw as sharp as a blade.

And two massive red Thunder Spears appeared in its hands, high above in the Sky Dome, countless red thunders surfaced, converging upon those Thunder Spears.

As if it was about to hurl the terrifying Thunder Spear in a certain direction.

Indeed, deserving of the title of Thunder God given by the natives of the Forbidden Zone, Gulan Sanks was truly domineering!

Li Yelai looked at the second picture, Gulan Sanks had already thrown the Thunder Spear, mercilessly shattering the mountains in the corner of the photo.

"Where were you then?" Li Yelai asked.

"I was on that mountain..." Chu He clicked his tongue.

The third picture, taken from a slightly closer distance, was even more shocking.

On the left side of the photo, Gulan Sanks was seen chopping down with a huge Red Thunder Blade, its colossal size cleaving through nearby mountains.

On the right side of the photo, Chu He was seen wielding a giant sword as he leapt up, a massive column of light also emerging from the giant sword in his hands.

The moment before the two were about to collide was captured by the photographer.

The scene was thus frozen in time.

The fourth picture was filled with intertwining thunders, and one could only see the huge silhouette of Gulan Sanks beneath the myriad of thunders. Chu He was nowhere to be seen.

"Are these pictures enough?" Chu He asked.

"They are enough, thank you," Li Yelai responded, offering up the ten kilograms of Scarlet Tree Liquid: "I look forward to our next encounter."

"Of course." Chu He nodded, then inquired, "Hey, has Golden Armor died?"

Li Yelai spread his hands slightly, silent.

Chu He chuckled: "It seems you have succeeded, you’re really ruthless. Well, it’s better this way. Keep the ship ticket close by, once I’ve successfully hunted down the Heavenly Meteor Qilin, I’ll directly come to trade with you."

"Certainly, Lord Chu He," Li Yelai nodded: "I will also come to ’order’ from you later on, let us settle our trades either with Scarlet Tree Liquid or Extraordinary Medicine."

Chu He paused momentarily, then laughed: "You do have a keen eye, indeed I am in need of these items. You’re welcome to continue ’ordering’."

"Then, I bid you farewell, Lord Chu He," Li Yelai said with a smile.

"Good," Chu He nodded: "Until next time, it won’t be long. I will be going to seek out the Heavenly Meteor Qilin next."

Li Yelai nodded, pressing his hand over the heart of the giant dragon.

The next second, he disappeared within the Ark Hall.

Chu He then looked at the third painting on the wall, his expression indescribable. A few seconds later, he too left the Ark Hall.

...

In the Lost Land, Chu He, sitting on the corpse of an Ancient Dragon, opened his eyes.

He looked toward his companions in the distance: "How is it? With Gulan Sanks dead, is the path to that shelter clear, have you managed to contact them?"

..." The response was a silence as heavy as death.

After a long while, someone spoke softly: "It’s too late, the shelter was breached over a decade ago... On this continent, perhaps only we are still barely surviving as Humans."

The words were filled with despair.

They wished to find companions, to locate those shelters scattered across various corners. If possible, they would form a new resistance force.

But over the years, they had never been successful... Most Humans in the shelters had long since vanished.

Either they became slaves of the Forbidden Zone, their bodies and thoughts bound by the rules of the Forbidden Zone.

Or they perished on the Battlefield, reduced to food for the countless Extraordinary Creatures.

In the vast Lost Land, it seemed only they continued to cling to life, cautious and wary.

Chu He was silent, then stood up saying, "It’s not yet time to despair; I will eventually become the Supreme! To achieve Kingship!"
