Chapter 129: Chapter 58: Swimming Upstream_2
Li Yelai breathed a sigh of relief after finally sending out the message.
He immediately informed Ben Lei of the issues he had encountered inside the art gallery.
"Don’t worry, including myself, there are four teams converging on your location. We’ll be there soon and will force our way through the main doors to assist you and rescue the crowd," Ben Lei replied.
Li Yelai was taken aback, "Although that’s good news, why are there four teams coming to support?"
"Hey, aren’t you just waiting for the abnormality to come to you?" Ben Lei responded with a laugh in his voice. "The more abnormalities you eliminate, the safer everyone else is. So, the more dangerous it is, the safer it becomes!"
"Are you some kind of genius?" Li Yelai retorted sarcastically.
Many in the department thought highly of Li Yelai’s ’Monster Brushing Cage.’
Commonly known as troublemaker!
Whenever an incident occurred, everyone would rush to Li Yelai’s side.
What could be tougher than facing your ’You Must Meet Strong Enemies’ with a group of Processors?
These were all unexpected gains!
That was Ben Lei and others’ plan—if any impressive abnormality wandered over to Li Yelai, they would all swarm it!
Meanwhile, inside Huan City University, it had already turned into a battlefield.
A huge contingent of fully armed operatives and armored vehicles surged into the academy and began battling the numerous Kaidan abnormalities.
Countless terrifying abnormalities were annihilated under overwhelming firepower.
Deeper within the academy, it seemed huge shadows were shifting in the night, as many Processors engaged them in combat.
As long as there was enough firepower, all abnormalities could be eliminated!
Thus, after the Kaidan started, the Processing Department dispatched a large number of operatives into the academy to rescue trapped individuals.
At the same time, Processors who were already lurking within the academy also began a brave struggle of wits against various abnormalities.
It was because of their presence that the number of casualties was kept in check.
Upon receiving these messages, Li Yelai finally relaxed.
Support was on its way; all they needed to do was wait for their arrival, open the doors, and they would be out of danger.
Li Yelai thought to himself and said to the students around him: "Tell all the students and teachers to gather at the main doors, we’ll be able to get out soon!"
"Okay!" The student beamed with joy and immediately turned on his heel.
Everyone’s minds were more at ease.
"That’s good news," Cheese said, "but don’t let your guard down; the security team leader might return at any time."
Li Yelai and the others nodded and readied themselves outside the security room, not wanting to prematurely celebrate with champagne.
Fortunately, the security team leader was still being kited by the Double Blade Knight, wandering back and forth on the third floor, seemingly without any intention to come downstairs.
About five minutes later, through a phone call, Li Yelai learned that a squad had successfully reached just outside the art gallery.
Through the phone call, Li Yelai seemed to hear the voice of a Heavy Knight.
It appeared she and her teammates had dealt with one Kaidan and, after receiving the message, came here to provide support.
She had even brought Li Yelai his Red Dragon Spear from his dormitory!
"Night General! We’re getting ready to break the door!" a strange Processor shouted over the phone, "Prepare on your side, too!"
"Okay!" Li Yelai nodded and smeared Xiang Yu’s Face across his own, preparing to break the door simultaneously from both sides so as to open the passage as quickly as possible to prevent any mishaps related to the Kaidan.
And so, under everyone’s expectant gaze.
Li Yelai, holding his Hot Melt Axe, approached the main door; the Overlord’s Double Pupils appeared, and black lines spread from the door.
Without hesitation, he swung his axe down the black lines, striking the Spiritual Barrier on the main door forcefully.
A ripple spread from the door.
In an instant, the entire art gallery shook violently.
The abnormalities went berserk!
But it was too late for them!
With Li Yelai’s Weakness Breakthrough, distorted cracks appeared on the door.
At the same time, the Heavy Knight and another Processor on the outside also raised their hammers and smashed them hard against the door.
’Crack’, under the force of both energies, the metal door was instantly blown open, creating a large hole half the height of a person.
Li Yelai peered through the gap and saw the Heavy Knight and four other Processors.
Both parties showed relief on their faces, even the usually stern Heavy Knight cracked a smile.
With this efficiency, they could dismantle the entire door before the abnormalities arrived.
When that happened, the Processors could enter the hall and cover everyone’s evacuation.
However, an unexpected change occurred.
Just as everyone saw a glimmer of hope, a curtain of despair came crashing down instantly.
The large, half-person-height hole began to rapidly shrink! All the cracks on the door were quickly healing! In just a moment, the hole that had been large enough for a person’s height shrank to the size of a basin.
"Wait..." Li Yelai was stunned and immediately raised his Hot Melt Axe to strike again. The Heavy Knight and another Processor also launched their attack instantly. They managed to create a large crack half the height of a person once again, but the door quickly healed, and the gaps began to close!
A chill went straight to everyone’s brain.
At that moment, they had alerted every abnormality in the art gallery. Yet, they were still unable to leave!
Then, a student screamed in horror and didn’t care about the narrowing crack, squeezing directly into it.
Li Yelai and the Processors outside the door were taken aback and could only attack again to widen the gap.
Following that, the Heavy Knight grasped the crack with both hands and tore at it. His palms bloodied just to slow the healing of the crack slightly, allowing the student who risked passing through the gap to avoid being crushed by the door.
Seeing this, a Processor shouted, "Hurry, widen the crack! We’ll hold it! Let the people out first!"
The remaining Processors attacked the door, using their own strength to tear at the gap, barely holding it open to half a person’s height.
Meanwhile, inside, everyone was in a panic, desperately moving toward the gap, even starting to trample and push.
Under the threat of death, they struggled to stay calm, each thinking only of rushing out the door first.
Even those rationally intending to maintain order were quickly pushed aside, and if Li Yelai hadn’t grabbed them, they probably would have been trampled.
"Listen to me! Stay calm! Leave in an orderly manner!" Cheese activated his ability.
That was able to quiet down the already panicked crowd.
After swallowing a candy, Cheese turned to look towards the distance.
A grotesquely swollen figure had already appeared around the corner in the distance.
This caused the crowd, which had quieted down, to panic and jostle once again.
The Master of Horror Tales... had finally come back!
In that moment, the fear struck both the Processors outside and inside the door.
It was too late; at this speed, they couldn’t evacuate everyone in time!
The Processors at the door had to maintain the gap and couldn’t spare any hands to help inside.
That meant they had to face the Master of Horror Tales themselves!
"Damn it, why is the door self-healing? What kind of change has occurred?" a Processor roared.
"It’s the holder! The holder has gained some kind of power!" another Processor responded through gritted teeth.
"Don’t talk, pull as hard as you can!" groaned the Heavy Knight, her palms already dripping with blood. As she gazed inside at the security captain who was getting closer, her heart tightened even more.
But then she suddenly heard a familiar voice: "Give me the Black Umbrella!"
A few puzzled students from Huan City University complied, and three of them together lifted the heavy Big Black Umbrella and handed it over through the gap.
The next second, the university students’ eyes widened.
Because the man took the Black Umbrella single-handedly and then, with his back to them, faced the monster.
The security abnormality looked extremely eerie; its face lacked facial features and instead had irregular circular holes with sharp, protruding spikes.
Despite wearing an oversized security uniform, its bloated belly hung out, displaying the anguished faces of people, causing nausea and discomfort.
Wrapped around its waist was a thick chain, holding the chain in its left hand and a massive metal club in its right. The monstrous aura instilled fear.
It stepped closer to the crowd, enjoying the look of fear on people’s faces, watching their panicked, headless rush.
However, its steps suddenly halted.
Because among the fleeing crowd, someone was wielding a Red Dragon Spear, going against the flow!
"Come on, beast!"
