Chapter 107: Chapter 49 Transactions
The great being sharply sensed something amiss, as if something "dirty" had come aboard his ark?
Although that feeling vanished in an instant, he still directed his gaze toward the hall.
The last time he had this sensation was because the ark was captured by a black hole in the Void Realm.
This time, he had to be fully prepared and carefully investigate, to prevent any accidents from occurring on the ark.
As a result, several passengers and spokespeople in the ship’s hall, mysterious in origin and terrifying in power, simultaneously turned around or stiffened.
They too were unclear about what had happened, but could feel the great being’s scrutiny and the faint wariness.
This left them somewhat perplexed. They didn’t know why this being had suddenly become cautious towards them.
It wasn’t surprising for the great being—the Hunter’s caution was naturally directed towards lions, not a mere white rabbit.
In the eyes of the great entity, "Copper Face" of the Second Awakening was merely a white rabbit.
Li Yelai, unaware of this, was currently examining the layout inside the ark.
In the hall, the floor was covered with the fur of some unknown creature, unusually soft and without any visible seams, indicating it came from an exceptionally large creature.
Elegant chandeliers lit up the entire hall, softly echoing a song-like sound that was soothing to the mind.
And the grand chairs were placed throughout the hall. If one couldn’t see the flickering Virtual Realm Starry Sky through the windows, who would have thought this was a colossal ship rather than a high-class classical restaurant?
Li Yelai walked towards the seventh chair by the window, the usual seat chosen by "Copper Face."
As a spokesperson for the Second Awakening, "Copper Face’s" status within the ark was not high, relegated to the periphery as mainly a listener and messenger. Unless "Golden Armor" accomplished something that earned everyone’s recognition, "Copper Face’s" status could be enhanced.
And for Li Yelai, this was actually a good thing.
He sat silently, observing the Ark Chosen Ones from the edge of the hall.
Some power disguised everyone’s appearance, making it impossible for Li Yelai to see their specific features—and they couldn’t clearly see him either.
This was a protective measure of the ark for the Chosen Ones, even preventing them from knowing each other’s identities.
Li Yelai sat for about ten minutes; during this time, more Chosen Ones appeared, found their seats, and quietly sat down, while a few gathered to converse before also returning to their places.
There were quite a number of Chosen Ones. From the intelligence extracted from the minds of captured Golden Armor and Copper Face, at its peak, there were over one hundred fifty passengers inside the ark.
Now, already more than a hundred people had arrived, indicating that sharing information was also significant for them.
Among them, Li Yelai noticed one person holding a Black Umbrella, dressed in a white suit with a top hat, sitting genteelly in an area close to the center of the hall.
Li Yelai wondered silently, "Is that Buttercup?"
Although there had been a significant change in physique, the black umbrella in that person’s hand was the same—the gold patterns on the umbrella were identical.
It was indeed the "Black Umbrella Young Man" Li Yelai had encountered before and had his teammates surround and attack.
The official analysis suggested that the Black Umbrella itself was the entity’s main body. He used some ritual or Taboo Item to attach his consciousness to the umbrella.
As long as the umbrella could escape safely, even if the body was destroyed, he could make a comeback.
It seemed that Buttercup had now found a new body, which was beyond official expectations—unknown how much strength had been restored.
Li Yelai was not worried about being recognized. Even just in terms of power, his current strength was worlds apart from before.
"The authorities said the power level of Buttercup was about Fifth or Sixth Sense, a Captain Level powerhouse," Li Yelai thought gravely, "Yet, he still can’t get to the central seats?"
That meant those in the core central seats possessed even greater power.
Li Yelai suppressed his unease and nervousness and continued to observe quietly.
After another ten or so minutes, confirming no more Chosen Ones were entering the ark,
A gender-neutral voice echoed in everyone’s ears, "The time has come, Chosen Ones."
The voice was ancient and solemn—in a language unknown to Li Yelai.
However, these words were automatically translated into language he could understand.
Did the ark innately possess translation abilities? Or did the power contained within the language break through cognitive barriers?
Perhaps both were true, considering the ark’s Chosen Ones came from around the world. Without such abilities, communication would likely be impossible.
Li Yelai thought of Mr. Shadow. He too was in a similar situation, able to understand the mysterious languages spoken by him.
Did the owner of this ark belong to the same level as Mr. Shadow?
Or did high-level beings all possess such abilities?
Li Yelai pondered.
A Chosen One with blond hair, clearly Caucasian, spoke up, "Let’s start with the intelligence then. Does anyone have information about the Old Golden Giant City? The more confidential, the better. I am willing to trade."
"I have some," another Ark Chosen One from the edge spoke up: "Private?"
"Of course, private!" the Caucasian Chosen One responded.
Following that, their voices disappeared, isolated from the outside world under the influence of the ark’s power, initiating a private communication.
Afterwards, both parties were pleased to exit the private state—one receiving the intelligence, the other a reward.
