Chapter 925: Chapter 342: Pope of the Dark Church
The Sky Goddess’s expression changed, her inner conflict raging. The promise of revenge stirred her, but freedom and selfhood also made it impossible for her to let go.
Hesitating in small matters, wandering in major ones, looking before and after, coupled with the naivete of inexperience; such a person could only succeed by using a career advancement tool.
The Sky Goddess didn’t use it, so she was eliminated.
Wayne was very satisfied with this, having the temper of an elder sister yet the fate of a younger sister. With a bit of training to make her face reality, she could become a decent beast of burden in the future.
"I’ll just leave my oath here; you can think it over. I won’t force you, lest you regret it later and say I coerced you into a deal," Wayne said as he waved his hand and dropped a lump of foam, believing in the principle of willing buyer, willing seller.
The foam hit the ground and transformed into an octopus baby flailing its tentacles.
Seeing Wayne turn around and walk away, the Sky Goddess maneuvered around the octopus, stepped forward, and said, "Void Lord, where are you going?"
"I’m just going to browse around your place. Now that I’m here, I can’t leave empty-handed..."
Wayne’s pace was swift. Without waiting for the Sky Goddess to respond, he had already arrived at the Heavenly Palace. His mind spread out and the foam surged wildly; a vast network of tentacles sprawling downward, seeking treasures of interest related to The Book of Greed.
Magic’s culmination is organization; knowledge is equivalent to Fist Power, and Fist Power equals both organization and authority—the equation holds true, making knowledge the most precious thing in the world.
After searching around, and wandering throughout the entire Heavenly Palace, Wayne found the knowledge he desired in a secret room, possibly the bedroom of the Sky Goddess.
In the center of the room stood a pristine white statue, its texture as smooth as jade, exquisitely tactile.
The statue of the Goddess had hair cascading like a waterfall, her figure slender and graceful, her flowing gown and hair fluttering with the wind, sublime yet not lacking in beauty.
"Pretty narcissistic."
The only remnant of the Sky Goddess’s thoughts, the statue was the coffin where she stored her mind. Wayne glanced at it and rubbed his tentacles as he looked around the walls.
The walls were covered with intricate and complex runes, like an ancient, indecipherable code, varying in size, interwoven together to form mysterious patterns.
Each rune was meticulously carved, imbuing them with powerful forces.
The dimly flickering lights moved like liquid; manifesting as wind at times, or converging into thunder. They were not inanimate, subtly forming a rather substantial independent cosmos.
This world embodied all the knowledge of the Sky Goddess.
"This is it."
Wayne waved his hand, swept up the foam, replicated the runes, and transferred the knowledge into The Book of Greed.
He couldn’t understand these symbols, but it didn’t matter; The Book of Greed had its own translation function, howling as it introduced two sets of laws into two small eyeballs.
Storm!
Thunder!
Once Wayne stepped into the Golden Triangle realm, he wasn’t satisfied with the present; his tentacles had already reached the Obelisk, obtaining a vast amount of Four Elements and two different sets of informational laws from the worlds of storm and thunder.
The Obelisk contained an immense amount of Four Elements, and the quantity of law information was significant. Due to its large size, unlocking it from the Sealing Book could cause other obelisk holders to sense it, leading to The Book of Greed’s feeding being intermittent—it had not even consumed a quarter yet.
Moreover, Wayne had two obelisks, and he couldn’t finish them in a short time.
The informational laws of storm and thunder came from two different deities. Once sorted by The Book of Greed, they each flowed into the same eyeball, proving the presence of struggles among the gods and confirming that evolution was a first-come, first-served path; only one could reach the apex.
Any subsequent followers on this path would either be subordinate or usurp to replace; there was no chance for peaceful coexistence.
"In a strict sense, the sky encompasses all and holds every possibility with a broader concept. The divine name of the sky is destined to go further than those of storm and thunder. She not only controls the storm and thunder, but the sun, moonlight, and even darkness..."
Wayne turned and left the secret room, mulling as he walked; perhaps the Sky Goddess had failed, but her path of evolution had been undoubtedly correct.
The Atmosphere Manipulator evolved into the sky, and by contesting with the sun, moonlight, darkness, and other goddesses for all sky-related laws, she ultimately secured her dominant position in the sky.
On second thought, darkness held more inclusivity; not just the sky, but the whole cosmos was encompassed within it, and it was rash to assert which was stronger.
The concept wasn’t absolutely correct; everyone had their justification, and in the end, it came down to who had the bigger, more powerful fist.
Analyzing the information at hand, according to what the Dark Goddess had said, the biggest fist currently belonged to Heavenly Father, followed by the Nature Goddess.
The concept of nature was scalable; a forest was nature, a planet was nature, and the entire cosmos could be considered nature.
If the Nature Goddess genuinely pursued this path, the sky, darkness, sun, moonlight... and even death were on her menu.
Getting bolder, the Nature Goddess had her sights set on seizing the divine name of ’life.’ If she achieved it, including Heavenly Father, everyone would be kneeling before her, then seized to become her Starfury force!
"Wait, is this what the so-called Subsidiary Gods are?"
Wayne looked bizarre, pondering the possibility as he walked out to the courtyard of the Heavenly Palace, asking, "Sky Goddess, have you ever heard of Subsidiary Gods?"
The Sky Goddess, still hesitant and not fully committed, was locking stares with the octopus baby. Upon hearing this, she gently shook her head, unfamiliar with ’Subsidiary Gods’ or any similar term.
She had slept too long and was completely out of touch with the outside world—calling her a primitive wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
"So, have you decided yet, do you want to be my dog?"
