Chapter 922: Chapter 341 Goddess, Please Speak_2
The transparent figure erupted in white thunderous light, painfully stabbing at the Magic Eye at the center of the Pale Sea, forcing it to slowly close.
"Goddess, I just wanted an explanation, never thought to take your life. Why are you so agitated?"
The pale ocean obscured the entire sky, and as the voice faded, the liquid-like foam solidified into a sturdy stone wall, as if an airtight prison sealed the Sky Goddess and her Heavenly Palace within.
The Sky Goddess was somewhat reluctant, and upon hearing these words, she stopped her self-destruction, biting her silver teeth as she looked towards the enormous Magic Eye.
Wanting to live, yet unable to lower her pride to beg for mercy, she could only open her eyes wide to show her firm stance of not submitting, hoping Wayne would provide a way out.
"Needs a bit of disciplining..."
Wayne thought this, and then he said it out loud.
As the voice faded, the face of the Sky Goddess showed profound grief and anger, and in her annoyance she once again activated her self-destruction mode.
"Just a friendly reminder, you’re inside me right now. Even if you explode, I can piece you back together. Dying isn’t so easy; you need my permission."
Wayne stepped out of the Pale Sea in human form, with the enormous and indeterminate Magic Eye behind him, making it impossible for the Sky Goddess to discern his true form.
The Sky Goddess stopped her self-destruction for a second time, pulling a long face. Although still unwilling to bow her head, the discipline was evidently having an effect.
Wayne saw the strong will to survive within her, and with a slight smile, extended his hand, transforming it into a tentacle reaching towards her: "How about it? Do you want to be reborn?"
"If you do, then open your mind and accept my Evolution. From now on, you will serve as my Knight in the Mortal World, manipulating the atmosphere and wielding thunder!"
Hearing almost the same dialogue as before, the Sky Goddess felt deeply humiliated. She didn’t seek death this time. The previous attempts at suicide came to an abrupt halt, realizing that she did not truly want to die.
"The deity of The Void, who are you, and what do you seek?" The Sky Goddess rejected the Evolution, or more precisely, to become a vassal of Wayne.
"Regarding my name, there’s no harm in telling the Goddess..."
Wayne spoke the name of the first Angel investor, raising his hands in rapture: "I am called the Void Lord, as you see, I’ve gained infinite knowledge and eternal life in The Void."
The Sky Goddess had utter disdain for Wayne’s narcissistic behavior.
The path of Void Evolution was fraught with dangers; the slightest misstep could lead to utter madness. It was the Evolution with both the greatest accomplishments and the highest risks, and it was generally not acknowledged by mainstream Evolution paths. She had never heard of any deity brave enough to set foot on this Evolutionary path.
Wayne may seem complacent now, but there will come a time when he’ll weep.
He’s done for, beyond hope!
Wayne extended a tentacle again, hoping to learn everything about the Sky Goddess. This predecessor on the path of Evolution had lived for a long time and must know many secrets that could reveal the disappeared stretch of history.
Thinking of this, Wayne couldn’t help but become curious. Why had the Dark Goddess referred the Sky Goddess to him? The Dark Goddess should be aware of how terrifying his corruption abilities were, which could easily revive the fragile Sky Goddess...
Only to live somewhat in a sorry state, having lost her freedom and self, from a high Goddess to a subordinate worker.
That must be the reason!
The Director of Discipline had a wicked heart. Judging from her dealings with her own Knights and the Holy Maiden, she was truly a sadist. If she harbored enmity towards the Sky Goddess, everything would make sense.
Wayne glanced at the Sky Goddess’s Elven ears and smelled a strong plastic scent, arching an eyebrow: "Goddess, you’re a member of the Life Alliance, aren’t you?"
"The Life Alliance..."
The Sky Goddess didn’t speak; a complex expression crossed her face, revealing her indeed to be a member of the Life Alliance.
There’s both light and darkness in the sky, the sun as well as the moon. Just from the divine name of ’Sky’, Wayne surmised she once had a substantial status within the Life Alliance.
Perhaps even a leading sister.
"Do you know the Dark Goddess?"
"The Star Plague Idinis?"
"..."
Who is that, the Dark Goddess changed her name?
A string of question marks drifted across Wayne’s forehead. The Dark Bible didn’t record the Dark Goddess’s name, and he wasn’t certain if she was called Idinis, but the title ’Star Plague’ did have a connection to darkness.
And an aura of malevolence, not seeming like any saint.
As he pondered, Wayne suddenly remembered the Sky Goddess had introduced herself with the title ’Atmosphere Manipulator,’ which might have to do with the ancient war of beliefs.
"There are many deities related to darkness, strong and weak. I am not sure which Dark Goddess you refer to, but when speaking of the strongest goddess associated with darkness, it can only be the Star Plague Idinis."
The Sky Goddess might not have spoken to anyone in many years, her desire to confide overpowering, unable to stop once she started talking.
Wayne took the opportunity to ask: "Then what about the four Goddesses of Nature, Sun, Moonlight, and Death?"
"Nature Sovereign, Twilight Sun, Pale Moon..."
The Sky Goddess listed the former titles of the three goddesses, but when it came to the Goddess of Death, she stopped again. Unclear, as in her memory, there wasn’t a powerful goddess associated with Death.
It’s possible her weakened state of mind caused her to forget the name that the Goddess of Death once held.
Filled with curiosity, Wayne’s eyes shone as he looked at the Sky Goddess. To have an elder was to possess a treasure; he saw an inexhaustible gold mine.
He immediately said, "Goddess, you fell during the war of belief. Who did it? Did you have an enmity with the Dark Goddess before?"
"If the Dark Goddess you speak of is the Star Plague, then I have no grievance with her. On the contrary, our relationship was very good."
