Chapter 884: Chapter 331: Another Egg Laid?_3
Sophia, as always, remained silent during meetings, allowing her most trusted subordinates to preside.
Austin was now her most trusted subordinate.
"The Queen has summoned everyone today to discuss several important matters..."
Several Legendary Mages loyally looked towards the Queen and beside her, His Royal Highness Prince Wayne, understanding clearly who called the shots in the nation.
"First and foremost," Austin read from the script, "the Queen intends for the Prince and Princess to further their education in physics at a university in Frank, which is related to the future of the Royal Family. The Queen wishes to hear everyone’s opinions."
The assembly of Legendary Mages had no objections. Today’s meeting was a mere formality; decisions had already been made during smaller sessions, and it wasn’t their place to dissent.
"Since there are no objections, let’s decide on this matter accordingly," Austin said, resolving to send the Prince and Princess to the capital of Frank, Paris, for the sake of the Royal Family’s future.
Wayne frowned, puzzled as to why they would send the risks away. Could it be that the Queen had managed to persuade Austin by constantly pestering him?
Upon reflection, it was likely that Austin and the Queen had reached some sort of agreement.
It didn’t matter; as long as the Queen remained in Windsor.
"The second matter," Austin continued, "strange cults have emerged within the Republic of Ireland according to investigative reports. These cults are particularly keen on distributing eggs to their followers..."
As Austin spoke, he glanced at Wayne and added, "Presumably, you’ve all heard of the Earth Core Cult, previously popular in Enrold Town, winning over believers by distributing eggs."
"The Republic of Ireland once faced a great potato famine, whose shadow lingers to this day, and its people hold a devout reverence for food. The momentum behind these cults has been tremendously swift..."
"The Queen requires a Legendary Mage to personally investigate in the Republic of Ireland, and if these groups are heretical like the Earth Core Cult, they must be eradicated immediately with no mercy!"
Aside from mainstream beliefs like Heavenly Father’s Court and the Naturalist Alliance, the God-chosen Continent also harbored beliefs in Darkness and Death—between mainstream and fringe.
And that wasn’t all. Aside from these beliefs, every year saw numerous new sects sprout up like mushrooms after a rain.
Some exist purely to profit from running a cult, treating belief as a business. Lacking power, they are either eradicated by Windsor independently or smothered by mainstream Church doctrines, failing to make a significant impact and quickly disappearing from local newspapers.
Others, like the Earth Core Cult, were not after money, but the very lives of their followers, delivering urns—no, boxes of ashes—one after another to fulfill their sinister sacrificial purposes.
Such cults posed extreme dangers and needed to be rooted out immediately upon confirmation.
It was somewhat ironic; sects like the Earth Core Cult copied and even emulated the doctrines of the Heavenly Father’s Court, emphasizing equality among all beings under a singular true god.
The oppressed commoners, burdened by the ruling elite, were very receptive to this concept, especially during times of disaster and war, deeply believing in it.
And if there were enough eggs to go around, one could imagine their level of devoutness.
Presently, in an era of war, coupled with the Republic of Ireland’s past famine, it was no surprise that these cults were gaining traction swiftly.
"Eggs again?"
"Where are all these eggs coming from? Could they be from a Void Lifeform?"
Wayne frowned, seeing the Legendary Mages with their eyes on their nose and their minds aloof, remaining silent, he inwardly scorned them for being like Insectoids.
And then he followed suit, remaining silent as well.
Austin surveyed the room, observing the quiet Insectoids, especially the big Insectoid opposite him, and he coldly snorted.
How could one accomplish great nation-building with this group of Insectoids!
Austin used to be indifferent, but now it was different—he had shares and was the main shareholder; he had to do something.
Austin glanced at Wayne, "Vice Minister Wayne, you have experience in eradicating the Earth Core Cult, and you’re very familiar with their ways. The Queen assigns you this task. Any problems?"
Wayne’s lab needed Star Beast flesh and blood, and a request for funds had gone through Borne’s hands into those of Austin, who was enraged enough to sign the approval on the spot.
What else could he do, lead a raid on the Lando Family’s estate?
Laughable; they wouldn’t even get through the door, as the Evil Dragon would press them down immediately.
Annoyed by Wayne’s blatant greed, so much so that he couldn’t be bothered to put on a show, Austin seized the opportunity to dispatch him from Lundan for a while.
Wayne frowned, not giving a straight answer. Taking the files Austin handed him, he noted the destination lined up conveniently with his own planned route. After some thought, he decided to go himself.
Better to keep the benefit for himself than let other Insectoids profit; he might as well thank nature for its bounty.
Speaking of eggs, Wayne couldn’t help but think of the Void Lord and Marshall, the former Legendary Mage of the Naturalism Church, an early angel investor who provided substantial support with blood, sweat, and tears, even liquidating his assets to help him get started.
After that, there were not many kind-hearted people left, only the devils of Hell showed such generous and righteous support.
Other angel investors were mixed with their own motives, not even close to the self-sacrifice of the Pope or the Dark Goddess, who wouldn’t compare on the same plane.
Each of them lusted after his genetic information.
Disgusting!
"Vice Minister Wayne, what do you say?"
"I have no problem, but I need to apply for funding and organize a special investigative team."
Wayne, with utmost seriousness, spouted nonsense: "I’ve clashed with the Earth Core Cult, and I know full well how terrifying they are, protected by the Void with an endless supply of eggs and tentacles. They are too strong; if I were to risk alone and fall into their encirclement, the Lando Family could lose its heir, which is not in the nation’s best interest."
