Chapter 881: Chapter 330: My Style is Above Yours!_4
Hiss!
The Magic Eye at the center of the Cosmos slowly closed, and the whole world was plunged into Darkness.
Wayne, with Anastasia, left the chat room, leaving the Dark Goddess alone in the small dark room.
The camera returned to the basement, where Wayne, pale-faced, stood in place; Anastasia hurriedly put on her long dress, approached, and supported Wayne’s arm, her eyes filled with worry and self-reproach.
"It’s not your fault; don’t worry about it."
Wayne pushed Anastasia’s arm away, not wanting her to come into close contact with him.
Anastasia’s complexion turned ugly. Her hand, held in mid-air, uncertain whether to stretch out or not, knew quite well that Wayne’s refusal was for her own good, yet a strong sense of loss still rose in her heart.
She felt rejected, no, abandoned.
"How troublesome, come and help me, and I’ll perform the surgery on you once I’ve recovered," Wayne waved his hand, reaching out for Anastasia’s arm.
Now, Anastasia hesitated again.
Wayne rolled his eyes and, touching his chest, said, "The Goddess’s thoughts are too powerful; even though they are corrupted and create a clear hierarchy, I still can’t suppress her..."
Wayne found himself in a dilemma—he certainly couldn’t let her go, but to hold the Dark Goddess, with the intensity of her thoughts, he would be weakened for more than half a year.
And during that time, he had to maintain Fusion with the Pale Nest.
And this was just a fragment of the Dark Goddess’s thought, perhaps one percent, or even one thousandth, or one ten-thousandth; the full strength of the Goddess’s thought was unimaginably terrifying.
It was confirmed; Torgoguryr was no match for the Goddess. She was sealed and not killed purely because someone was above.
Someone above?
Wayne’s brow raised; he seemed to have someone above, too.
Like, for instance, the Ancient God of Dragonheart Island.
"Since you can’t suppress her, why not let her go? The Goddess knows your biggest secret. If she shares it with the other Goddesses, you’ll face even greater pressure," Anastasia said coldly.
Wayne’s mouth twitched, knowing that Anastasia had once again been overtaken by the Dark Goddess. Without further ado, he took her by her slender waist and pulled her into his embrace.
His fingers slid down, easily wrapping around her frail body, pressing her tightly against his chest.
Their chests pressed together, eyes met—one coldly indifferent, the other calmly composed.
"Wayne, hand over my thoughts. I greatly admire your Evolution; don’t make me use violence, as it will only further complicate our partnership," Anastasia ordered.
Wayne did not appreciate being looked down upon; he buried his head in Anastasia’s shoulder, took a deep sniff against her slender neck, and said fiercely, "If it weren’t for the fact that Anastasia is innocent, and I don’t want to hurt her, I’d definitely make you pay."
During his speech, tentacles spread from under his feet and wrapped around Anastasia’s body, ready to drag her back inside at any moment.
But it was a pity he couldn’t do it.
Another thought of the Dark Goddess and Wayne would be overflowing.
Who would turn into a puff pasty at that point was hard to say.
The Dark Goddess was fearless; the strong had more say, more choice. She was now contemplating how to train Wayne.
She only had two Subsidiary Gods and was considering whether to add a third.
"Wayne, since you’re so obstinate..."
"What can you do? Who do you think I am? You all don’t even dare to touch Torgoguryr, let alone me," Wayne looked up at the lovely face close to his own, sneering, "By now, you must have realized that I am not a mere human; I, too, have my own faith."
The Dark Goddess frowned and fell silent, strongly suspecting Wayne of bluffing, using the name of the Ancient God to intimidate her from making any rash moves.
And sure enough, she didn’t dare to make a move.
Even though everyone knew that Ancient Gods did not care about the life and death of their followers;
Even though everyone knew that Ancient Gods would not descend;
Even though everyone knew that Ancient Gods had no emotions...
But everyone still hesitated, like Torgoguryr, who took a long time to decide, choosing to seal instead of a direct confrontation.
"You wish to observe my Evolution? Fine, no problem. This is also the thought of my faith, equally granting the possibility of Evolution to everyone. But whether you can endure it or not, my faith doesn’t care."
Wayne raised an eyebrow: "Don’t think I’m bluffing. I can tell you the location of my faith, the Dragonheart Island within the Windsor Domain. Believers now call him the Sea God. With the Goddess’s abilities, go and see for yourself if it’s true or false."
See what, how strong the tentacles of the Ancient God were?
The Dark Goddess secretly scoffed; she’d be crazy to go to Dragonheart Island. Her thoughts dispersed, passing through layers of space, and in an instant descended above the skies of Dragonheart Island... from afar.
Her gaze fell upon the twisted pentagram symbol of the Sea God Society, from the main building to the statue of the Sea God, similar to the arrangements and structure of the Heavenly Father’s Court’s churches but not of the Heavenly Father’s faith.
The Dark Goddess watched in silence; within the statue was faith visible to the naked eye, claimed and unclaimed, patiently waiting to be gathered.
She pushed Wayne away and stepped back two steps, her face cold, not saying a word.
The Goddess was too proud to humble herself, hoping Wayne would realize this and seek reconciliation on his own so they could remain good allies.
Materials for experiments upgraded to partners, and now upgraded again to allies.
Quite realistic indeed.
"Goddess, do you desire Evolution?"
